We replaced our windshield , after that we got the sign saying pre collition malfunction , please see the dealer. So I am always curious about all those thing. So i tried the battery thing and it didn't work. So i went in the car and open the little thing right behind my back mirror , to see the camera if it has any issue, and found out while changing my windshield they somehow opened the wire of the camera and never connected it back. So i stick my 2 finger in and somehow connected the wire and wallah !! It worked! I have a toyota rav 4 xle . Thanks
@@ohonakaisar5629 No Wayyyyy! Awesome job! I like how you did some problem solving and got right into the issue! Your comment could really help someone else in need. @@HowToDIYMoore you are welcome. I hope it work for you. The black box behind the rear view mirror , if you put your finger and pull the small piece comes out easily. If you look inside the white wire need to be connected. And thats it. I hope it works for you.
@ohonakaisar5629 Yeah, well, there not much a complete reset / diagnostics can do if they leave the plug undone. It's a good thing you checked this out, knowing you got a windshield done. I will verify this and let you know what happens.
@spencerwilken9974 Awesome 👌! Now, I recommend getting the battery tested to make sure the CCA and cranking amps are where they need to be. These vehicles nowadays have a HUGE demand for energy, and if slightly off or going low, it can cause this again or even more weird lights to come on. Thanks for commenting to let myself and the other viewers know it worked!!!!
If nothing else is working, try this...strangely it worked (from a forum) "On the morning going to the appointment, the light went off. I got to the service dealer, he hooked up a scanner, it read that my gas cap was defective. He asked if I fill my car up with gas and go and click more than 2 to 3 times after the gas is full. He said that I'm putting to much gas in. Over flow of gas goes into the charcoal filter. Don't over fill the gas tank. So far so good. Hope this helps you out."
So I actually made a part 2 where I solved the issue. It is lonked in the description of this video and on my channel. Mine was a plug in the rear view mirror. Thankfully, it is now solved. Thanks for sharing myself and other viewers! Also, thanks for watching.
@IslandPipers That's awesome! That's exactly what I wanted to achieve with this video. Thanks for sharing your solution with me! And thanks for watching! 😁🤙
It's the aftermarket hood heater which is actually the front facing camera heater. Make sure it's plugged up. If it's not plugged up plug it up and that'll stop the issue. If it still does it after you plug it up it's because the hood heater is aftermarket it needs to be replaced with a factory Toyota Hood heater. That's all it needs. I've been in the auto glass business almost 30 years and we've seen this a lot with Toyotas. When we replace the windshield we always take the aftermarket hood heater off the aftermarket windshield and put the OEM Hood heater on the aftermarket windshield so all the plugs Jive together and you won't get this problem. Everything he is doing and saying is sounds good but it's not going to resolve the issue, especially if you've had the windshield replaced and they used an aftermarket hood heater. The hood heaters come on the glass aftermarket, like I said just take the aftermarket hood heater off and buy you a factory Toyota Hood heater, or call the auto glass company that did the work and have them take care of it, it should be under warranty. We warranty everything we touch. Make them pay for it. 😊 Especially if you've had a windshield replacement
Yes you are correct. I have made a part 2 on this with the resolution to the issue. I was just doing some process of elimination on the issue in general. I just stopped by my grandmas house to say hi and she had told me about the issue. From there I did some quick diagnostics and felt odd about the fact that it all was happening after the windshield replacement. I had a few tools and proceeded to try to get a resolution for her. The 3 steps outlined in the video are great for those who have NOT had a windshield replacement. If a windshield has been replaced then absolutely check the plug to make sure they plugged back in! Also remember this was a brand new car to my grandma so there wouldn't be no aftermarket parts on it as they are all original. Thank you for your professional response as it will help so many watching. This will help so many people move in the right direction. This is why I make the videos to solve problems and help people! Hi...in the middle of driving i had the 'pre crash safety' warning , along with 'lane departure alert malfunction' , and then 'braking power low' amd check engine...one after another, and car wont start anymore... any suggestion?
Hello, If it me this is what I would do.... 1. Check the battery (even if new most the new cars require powerful high demand AGM batteries). 2. Check the alternator 3. Scan the trouble codes to lead you to the issue. 4. check for loose connection at the forward facing radar. These Toyotas have had issues with shorts and/or loose connections at the radar. 5. It may be a bad speed senor. Also a known issue on the Toyotas to lead you right back to all these immediate issues. Start here ☝ Please let myself and the viewers know your findings. @@avigadesh807 Make sure you verify the proper fitment and battery CCA and CA for your vehicle. If it is slightly below the requirement it can cause these issues.

So I had this from a different cause. It seems people can get this from many different issues but I found my solution. If you have a good scanner, the code that I associated this issue with is C1232 Deceleration sensor. This is the yaw sensor that is used for airbag and collision avoidance technology.
