    Excellent video.... you make everything look so easy. No way I could make a video like that. I think I enjoy working on things, but for some reason it never goes that smooth and after a few minutes, I end up talking dirty to whatever it is I’m working on!
    Glad you’re back on the road. God bless and safe travels!

      Thank you, lol. In all honesty i delete a ton of video and i turn a 30 min job into a hour and a half job because it doesn't go so smooth and then i start over, lol. I do enjoy making the videos though and it makes it all worth it to get comments like these. I appriciate it Mike!

    I've got a 2019 5500hd that's been having this problem but the dealer can't seam to fix it 3rd actuator and 5times relearn. That's after def tank was replaced in February after I waited a month and a half. I'm glad yours got fixed. The dealer gives it back to me and after about 200 miles it does it all over again. Now I'm waiting for a fuel pump modual/ driver that's on back order till 10/28/22. I'm so disappointed in gm they have gone to hell as far as reliability goes

    Hello!, the procedure to carry out the relearn is to switch on off several times? or does it take care of doing it with a scanner

  • @Jc-bo1uu
    @Jc-bo1uu ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You will need to do a turbo vein position sensor relearn.

  • @socanyou2714

    So for the relearn you didnt have to use scan tool you just cut ignition on and off a few times?

    • @CFarmer

      Yes, it took a few cycles of ignition but it learned itself

    Ive had two orders cancelled for this part, truck runs fine after a driving it for a bit, but on initial start you can't here the actuator moving or after shutting it off, I have to drive the truck on highway for 30 mins before light goes off and actuator starts working again. Just want the thing to work all the time.

    Glad you got her going again. At that advanced number of miles at what point do you start ti consider replacing the truck?

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, a smart guy probably already would have. Seems to me the newer the truck the harder it is to work on and harder it is to get parts. I hope to keep patching this one up

    • @Toddstjohn
      @Toddstjohn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CFarmer I'm no expert but it seems to me once you get past 200 - 250k miles they lose so much value it wouldn't make sense to replace it until it just quits

  • @timfast8306
    @timfast8306 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    seems every time I walk past my truck the actuator moves. do you know why that is?

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว

      The actuator cycles to clean the soot off the arm that works the variable veins inside the turbo. If it builds up it can cause linkage to stick

    You didn’t perform a turbocharger vane position learn after installation. I’m gonna take a fat guess that your truck is tuned. I did a similar vehicle where customer had the battery die and the tune lost the turbo vane position. I’m more than sure there was nothing wrong with that actuator .You need to go into the special functions and learn the turbo vane position. With your autel or other suitable scan tool.

    • @CFarmer
      @CFarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Truck is completley stock (no tuning). After i installed the new actuator i tried vgt learn with the autel with no luck (no option for vgt learn for this truck. I saw the option for others) so i took it to a friend that has a better scan tool. Still not an option. Took it to dealer (last resort). They told me it would self learn... To Drive it. 478508k miles today with no lights and no issues. I did try though

      2018. It boggled me too and even though I'm having no issues it still seems to be something that i would like to have done or checked. . I'm still supprised i didn't have the option. Very surprised dealer didn't take my money and either do relearn or tell me they did, lol. Thank you for your comment. It's been a while and i need to do more research on it. It went out of sight and out of mind.
