      @@11GalleryATV hey bud how do i find out if its a 400 ex and year i was told it was a 2000 400 ex but the frame and wires are totally different from what you have and im seeing

      @@kelseymoe2259 Mine is a 2006 and is a little different than a 2000. The 2005-2007 400ex have reverse and different headlights and plastics than the 1999-2004 400ex. The concept will be the same but some of the wire connectors and routing may be a little different. The way to tell if it is a 400ex (if it doesn't have any stickers on the front of the frame) is to just do some good old fashioned research and comparison. The 400ex also has a vin number stamped into the very front of the frame (you can see barely see it on mine in the very beginning of this video (stamped horizontally).

      @@kelseymoe2259 Your frame should not be completely different though ... I think the frame is basically the same from 1999 all the way to at least 2007 (I don't know past that).

      in part 5 (th-cam.com/video/xEvQf_vAED4/w-d-xo.html) i hooked up the neutral light to the front but I don't have any footage of hooking it to the engine ...

  • @kelseymoe2259

    Hey bud quick question i have everything hooked up right but 2 wires are different on kill switch and i dont think it has a push start think its for just lights and horn..should i hook up old one the connector is different and 2 wires different and its a brown wire going back in connection on old kill switch

    • @11GalleryATV
      @11GalleryATV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      400ex's are electric start ... somebody probably used a kill switch (momentary switch) for the electric start (which is what I am going to do). There is no horn, these are off road vehicles. You may want to find a used OEM handlebar control switch on eBay or something as they are pretty cheap. I am not using any of the OEM switches for lights or the electric start.

    Hey bud i got everything ran right everything new from cdi to battery and plug in how it supposed but the handlebar switch there are 2 different ends and 2 different wire colors there is a yellow and white blue and white ..i have a video on page if you can look and kinda spot where ib going wrong

    • @11GalleryATV
      @11GalleryATV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I watched your video and neither one of the kill switches are from a 400ex ... you may want to check out a wiring diagram to see what all the colors of wires do ... here is a link to one I found ... www.pinterest.com/pin/510525307752583346/ ... also the 2000 400ex does not have reverse. Reverse was not introduced to the 400ex until 2005. You can do a Google search for "400ex wiring diagram" and view some images or download a service manual pdf somewhere and it should also have a wiring diagram in it ...

    • @11GalleryATV
      @11GalleryATV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the wire in your video where you say is reverse is actually the neutral sensor. The 400ex has a neutral sensor (attaches down on the bottom of the left crankcase (stator side) by the oil drain plug) and the CDI will not allow spark unless the transmission is in neutral or the clutch is pulled (there are 2 more more wires for the clutch also).
