Its easier to assemble the bottom end on the other half of the case. A whole lot easier to set the time of the counter balance. Thats why the factory puts the marks on that side.
I never had a motor to begin with. I bought the left and right crankcase halves already split. I did this entire build from scratch starting with just a titled frame.
Probably a far fetched hope, but do you have a part number for the seal you put in at 8:20? Trying to order on Motorsport but the pics aren’t showing the oil notch. Thanks. Your vids are amazing and so helpful!

As I’m progressing in my build. It’s the little parts I’m having trouble with. Where are you ordering the random circlips, dowels, fasteners, etc.? Is there a site you prefer?
Is there a place I can get those photos of the cases? Also there is a needle bearing in the Left Crank case. Ours is broke and I cannot find a part number anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks for the great video!
@@11GalleryATV If you look at the diagram of the left case it does not show you the inside. There is a needle bearing on the inside that I can't get a part # for.
@@joshuabeard8244 Oh yeah ... if your talking about that little needle bearing that the shift drum goes into ( very bottom of screen at 17:06 ), it is not sold and is not replaceable as far as I know. In the manual it says if this bearing is bad you need to replace the case.
I put the case halves in the oven at 300° for 1/2 hour and they will fall right out. Hell, sometimes they fall out while still in the oven! Sometimes you have to punch them out from the back side and if there is a stubborn one with no open back side to pound it out, you will have to use a blind bearing puller - amzn.to/3uXA6PR
Not hard ... I bought one on eBay from a 2014 ... any transmission 2005+ will work if you have reverse and any transmission 2004 and below will work if you don't have reverse.
I never had a full motor to tear down. I purchased the crankcase halves and all the engine pieces separately and just assembled them. I did this entire build from scratch, starting with a just a frame.

That was awesome! Who knew the bearings would drop in like that?!
This is the best bottom end build series I’ve seen. For this model
Thank you! Was looking for something like this myself and found nothing so I did it myself ...
I'm assembling a similar engine, these vids help a lot. Thank you!
WOW! Amazing.
That is one Procedure that could of used a couple extra hands, but you pulled it off with no Problem!
Thanks! And yeah, it was a bitch but I Got-R-Done! \m/…(>.

I will have to try that next time ... that crank/counterbalancer pull in together sucked ass the way I did it
Map gas and a rubber mallet is the quickest and easiest way to heat up and assemble the bearings and crank when there cold
That would work too, but the easiest for me is just the way I did it ... cases in the oven and bearings in the freezer.
Awesome video
Thanks! \m/…(>.
Great work!!! Love the videos!!
Thank you!
I'm trying to see a video of how you got all those bearings out how you got that block apart.

yes it will ... the crankshaft is the same from 99-14
