People say india should work for common people we don’t need to do everything what west does. Some of it is true but if we want india to look beautiful we need to make hard choices. Recently I was watching Walking tour Columbia, now that country is very poor. But also very similar to india. What amazed me is concrete streets, paved footpaths, everything is paved in cities. They also have people making shops on reads and so much traffic but they also had traffic lights, pedestrian crossing, street food was prepared but they were wearing gloves everything was somewhat good. We india have tendency to ignore these things. We have unpaved streets, electric wires, bike riders going crazy, autos going crazy. Just see Russian cities and rural area, India have better Rural area and facilities than Russia but look at their cities you can’t say it is a poor country. This is overlooked by Indian government. And Indian people saying we don’t need to follow west or attacking when someone point out these things doesn’t help either. We need to bring laws to solve Autos, street vendors, street food, electric wires problem
I am a student of class 10th and had been in an accident of auto was taking us home when we got in an accident with a truck my friend died and I broke my collarbone auto should be made more safer or should be banned from city's 😢
Yes, my Dad and I used to say the same thing for old style Tata Nano e.g. at 1:28 in the video. Of course car safety rules have increased to make airbags compulsory etc.... but auto rickshaw rules have not been changed!
I think it is because Auto fits more people maybe.. and more people makes kt cheaper. I am talking about Bajaj 6 seater auto's not Electrical rickshaws
Everyone has a union except the "Middle Class Ppl" & thats the reason why we suffer the most injustice!!! We need a Government thats thinks abt everyone equally!
I know a auto route in west Bengal where auto takes 8 passengers so total 9 people in one auto. I'm talking about those small autos similar to mumbai autos not the big ones
Meanwhile in Bengal we are infected with another problem of Toto (e-rickshaws). They are literally taking over cities, towns and villages. Even though they don't pollute air or noise, but still in excessive number it is going to be a problem
Markets decide modes of transport. Autorickshaws are as convenient & useful to public as cars, buses or trains. It can't go away. It's another wonderful mode of transport, catering to people. However, E-rickshaws, design changes for safety, noise, economy, driver training wrt discipline / behaviour, etc... , will make it a great mode in the future. Cars add to congestion too. Why not ban them? Can't, right? Co-existence of all modes.
ban is super extreme reaction , but asking companies to sell something with 4 wheels and some sort of gate is a reasonable ask ... even just using a nano in place of a auto will make everything so much more safer
although I wanna disagree on this with you@@harshithsg5483 but, sadly I would agree, Autos do have an advantage of direct talk and negotiations on spot, whereas downloading an app and paying twice the amount for a cab, for a relatively small distance, is not feasible but still, if indeed, Indians get more richer and richer, then maybe CABs can indeed do something, we need some E-car which is on par of an Auto Rickshaw right now... and try to impose them... these should also have safety features.... slowly these smaller E-cars and Electric Auto hybrid kind of vehicle might indeed do something great like E-rickshaws did in the extreme small distance scenarios I think they should promote some separate lanes for Auto travel too in the future so that they dont clutter the main roads... (given the fact that, these Auto Rickshaw drivers gang always hoards near cuts and turns, jamming the roads and not even allowing vehicles to move properly through, causing in even more jams seen these Auto gangs grouped in large numbers, near Metro Stations as well we really need to do something about this :/
I like china road system. Small ev two wheeler and ev cycle and totally separate lane for two wheeler and wide roads for busses and cars. Yes there are some problems in china's system too but still it's pretty much effective.

Auto rickshaw unions are pretty powerful and have a lot of political leverage. However they can eliminated if using rickshaws for commute becomes uneconomical for us or driving them becomes not profitable for the drivers, either of which is possible in next 15-20 yrs.
That's so true for Bangalore, as they do whatever they want and act as a bully in the city as they know they have powerful hands above them. The charge random rates and people are also happy to pay 10%-20% less than a 4 wheeler Uber/Ola to risk their life. You will see instances where the Rickshaw drivers would harass their customer and also might extort money from them. It has been 4yr+ that I haven't rode a Auto rickshaw because of their behavior, the price and the compromise in safety.
Tbh autos are a big big road hazard , my daily commute is rough because of autos , most of them dont even follow rules , they slow down speed up randomly break randomly , start on mainroad without any indicators or horn or anything, ị nearly died one day because i had just exited a roundabout and was accelerating towards the main road and out of nowhere a auto came in the middle lane from stand still within 2 seconds. I saved it luckily . This was a much needed amazing video ❤
Found a guy with similar thought on autorickshaw the owners don't maintain them properly and you no irritating grinding noise also watch about center of gravity and 3 tigada kaam bigada ye kahabhat to yad he and ban kati autorickshaw को aur taxi service start karoo
Too much power is dangerous. I recently saw a Bangalore video where a person was returning home from hospital with his new born baby and the Auto wala was vandalising his car. The police was asking him to compromise with the Auto wala... this is India. sad
Few years back Bajaj introduced Quad rickshaw (BAJAJ QUTE) A four wheel car with size and engine of an auto. This would good change considering all aspects
It was a flop , I know because only one guy bought it in my locality or town . Plus it never really sold as such in few numbers also. Bajaj had to discontinue it I guess because initially it was hyped a lot but no1 bought it in the 1st place except for a few 🛺 drivers who wanted to stand out from the crowd. They didn't accept it because it looked like a toy car plus it was much cheaper to own a autorickshaw.
that happened thanks to the communist unions and manufacturers lobby which makes and promotes cheaper unsafe autos@@aashutoshbhagat2677 some bigger steps are necessary, I wish in this 3rd term some BOLD steps are indeed taken look at UPI, it was also a BOLD step, it did work !!! people should be educated from base level in some workshops regularly to show them the longer term benefits... the drivers should get more better jobs and pay by themselves, government can help in it, to decrease autos, public transport for the middle class mostly, should be good, and the rich manufacturers must be held accountable and forced to produce better vehicles and that too in a good government watch not like some communist regime, but a more public-private partnership model... we can do it... we only lack the will :(
My dad is an autorickshaw driver, and I think bad people are in every aspect of life as they are in autorickshaw industry as well. But banning them is not a good idea (people are earning their livelihood), and if banning is a solution then we should ban the street hawkers as well. If you are in Delhi, try to go to some old colonies.. you will see they have literally occupied the 100 FT roads totally.. And talking about the growing concern, then we should be more and or worried about the Growing population.. because that is the root cause of all...
in my opinion just like japan we should encourage walking so that atleast till 2km distance people just simply walk then auto rickshaw problem will be half solved as around 2km is enough distance for a major road to be so we can catch a bus easily.
In the most developed countries walking / bicycling is the solution to last mile connectivity. But unfortunately our footpath infrastructure is in the gutters.

Actually Auto Rickshaw is most needed it cannot be irradiated but it can be transformed in Cab services but Buying a car for it and traveling cost for passengers will be very high. So we have to focus in making rikshaw more safe.
In Bangalore Autos are becoming a menace, No traffic rules they follow, Rude and arrogant behaviour and cause road rage and make a scene in public. Most of them are basically rowdies & goons who are just making a living. As rowdyism is no more a profession. Autos should be banned in main roads, highways & Crowded city centres. Last mile connectivity can be implemented based on areas. But should be banned in City limits.
A compact manauverable 4 wheelers can be a solution to these autorickshaws A hybrid engine for long distance travel and electric one for short range should be implemented replacing the present one and a subsidised micro 4 wheelers should be provided to autowallas
In my city, there are no reserved autos, only shared autos with fixed routes.. & most of the routes are based on slim narrow roads & within localities.. and most of the big roads are auto less..
Actually auto are there from a long time so it has became a convinent and cheap way to travel around than taxis so people mostly opt for auto and on auto many people's houses are running so government also cannot ban them asap they must do some plan and then implement it 🤔
Auto rickshaws wala needs to trained and disciplined. But India rural population has so much impact in smaller but developing cities that we have to follow their directions. You can’t change the narrative. Even in cities , it becomes so mandatory to use auto rickshaw bcoz there is no other options majority of time. And now a days erickshaw has take over they are worst same as rickshaw but slower and no pickup power. They try to get between cars but they are so slow that they cause so much chaos and traffic.
#AskPT Why government didn't promote people to use bicycles and government transport system in alternate to auto rickshaw and give subsidiary to purchase cycle and make a advertisement campain to make people fit?
@@tarunfunnyvideos8955I am from Delhi and E rickshaw is already popular. Long distance wali E rickshaw nahi hai, CNG wali hai. But CNG is still better than petrol
Glad that you have brought this up as substantial discussion point. This menace needs to be checked. most of the city accidents are caused by there irresponsible behaviour and there stubbornness to follow the rules. Lane switching, cutting through, constant honking, instant braking, wrong side driving, overloading passengers, rude behaviour, driving in no vehicle and restricted zones is the definition of an auto rickshaw. E rickshaws are the worst adding to the unethical driving sense on the road. Pony if this could be highted more.
Agar 2004 sei delhi mein metro naa hoti toh aaj Delhi ka har dusra bunglow auto rickshaw walei ka hota, Maine Dilli mein 22 sal mein ek baar bhi auto ko meter sei chalte nahi dekha.
Cars are too inefficient. You need parking spaces, they are space inefficient and also carbon emitting. Autos are excellent for last mile public transport infrastructure. The same road with high auto rickshaw density carries way more people than cars, also they run on CNG or electric, which is much better for emissions.
You're missing the point. The alternative to autos do not have to be cars. If only a substantial amount of public starts using bus and there is ample infrastructure to promote its use, the streets will end up much tidier than with either auto or cars. Existense of auto or cars isn't the problem, the sheer amount of them is. You can easily fit close to 20 auto worth of people inside a bus, its not even close
@@vikrantsingh6580 Trains and buses can't reach an individual's personal address. They have designated stops. This last mile transport system is relegated either to personal transport (be in the form of a vehicle, a bike) or auto rickshaws. Often, the lack of a last mile transport network will just propel people with disposable income to just forego crowded public transport systems altogether and take an uber or drive their own vehicle. This puts significant strain on roads, especially as the size of an average car for 4 keeps getting bigger and bigger due to perverse design choices by car companies and desperation to increase their profits. Auto's are perfect supplement to major public transport arteries like metro lines, bus lanes and so on. They are also helpful for disabled people and can often perform versatile roles like replacing ambulances or urgent luggage transport over short distances. The only replacement for autos which isn't a car would be a pool bicycle bicycle service, where once again questions of parking, maintenance and civic handling of those objects come into play. These questions are obliterated when a class of auto drivers exist to handle those affairs. A single auto rickshaw can handle hundreds of passengers travel a day.
@@17thsavior direct autos don't cause much havoc. Problem raises with share autos. They completely flip the auto if they see a single customer on the side of the road. And share autos don't work as last mile transport. Actually that's a good idea. If we develop good public transport, we can ban autos on main roads. Autos can be specifically used for the last mile transport like after getting of the public transport, within streets.
@@ChiSa123 Where do you think buses park buddy? Use your brain a bit. We need an individual parking space near your house or office for a car. Autos have designated mass parking, or they have auto stands where they queue up to take passengers,
okay so here's the things we can do 1st... we need proper MODERN bus stands with modern buses which work on time (not like those Congress era buses which were almost on the brink to fall apart, with doors open so that the person will run and jump into it before it misses, lol still remember that) 2nd... we must make people rely more on Metros and Buses, so to bring people to these stands, we must do something which acts as a cheap bridge, well why not convert all Autos for this purpose only? separate lanes, with relatively bigger, modern Autos, which are actually smaller Electric cars (which can be made as big as a Nano, or Iris or Jeeto as said in a comment by someone below), the people can be said to do this task only, and forcing companies to undertake this route thus the clutter on normal roads, should relatively stop due to Autos, and people shall resume going in metro trains or buses we should make these 2 so good in terms of quality, pricing per ticket, availability, accessibility, better planned, and much more safer, with being on time, that too regularly in certain time periods... we can do this, there's an Auto, if someone doesnt wanna use his car, he hops into an auto rickshaw, and as they are said to ONLY move up till stations or bus stands, they shall abide by this, and do so, then when boarding a bus, the bus should incorporate some UPI like model, where the driver just sits, and the QR code should be made to be scanned by the person near the entrance (ensured by some conductor) so that their tickets get validated, and they begin to just take a seat and move on to the next destination, the distance between the time interval (if one bus gets missed) shall be very small, for the same route, almost 5-10 mins only, so that people wait and take it... I think also almost half the Auto rickshaw drivers can be persuaded into driving buses or some bigger vehicles or do some better jobs in transportation side, so that, due to the HIGHER MONEY earnt, they automatically themselves too, leave driving autos... a great public infrastructure model, with great quality of buses and metro trains, on an even bigger and more REGULARITY based scale, can indeed do wonders for Indian roads, almost half the traffic is of autos on roads, thus roads will also free up a little bit we cannot totally BAN these things in one go and expect them to not revolt, instead we must do it slowly, I think if we wanna become developed by 2047, then surely we still have 20 more years, we can indeed do something in this time period also the higher amount of money being earnt by the Auto rickshaw drivers turned bus drivers or Electronic small cabs drivers, will also further off their poverty trap and the lowest of the lowest earning people, could finally rise up too.. this can be sustained as Indian middle class is growing more and more, they would be able to afford all of these newer facilities if made compulsory thus yes, things can be changed and it would benefit all (not the lobby btw who makes these autos) then maybe government can play an UNO reverse... Govt can indeed give some incentives to these manufacturers to produce smaller Electronic cabs (size of a NANO) and buses or their components... and try to woo them somehow... if the lobby also agrees to this, then the problem from top to bottom, shall be finished government should seriously look into all this...
These Autos are not the problem, The Problem is the person driving them, Just like others they also get the licence for Rs 5000, meaning they don't know how to drive and how to actually use the roads, Fix this problem and Auto will be not a problem,

Autorikshaws are very convenient vehicles in cities. Very conveneient to maneuver it in narrow street's. And when we compare its accident rate with motorcycles it is very low. Motorcycle should be banned if considering its accident rate. . And if there is behavioral problems with drivers it is the problem of our society not exclusively for autos....
May be lobbying by manufacturers & auto rickshaw unions are the cause that may be the reason for not banning them . On top of that lack of efficient public transport like buses with their own dedicated lanes to increase their speed .
Though I share the same thought process but its almost impossible and impractical to ban autos. 1. Banning Autos mean we need more cars or buses on the roads, which would take even more space and create more jams. 2. The mass transport system wont be sufficient for the huge population of India. 3. Major public transport systems do not cater to the last mile destination. Options: 1. Restrict movement of autos in core city areas. 2. Make the the rear and front see-through, when driving behind an auto many accidents are caused due to the fact that unlike cars you dont get to see whats coming from the opposite side. 3. Make them noise free and horn free, improved engine. 4. Restrict seats and put half uncomfortable doors/guards to limit over loading. 5. Create zones which limits autos from traveling all over the city, one zone auto cannot ply to another zone, color code them from easy detection and penalise for non compliance. 6. 'Cooling hours'. Certain time within the day should be 'auto-free' time. Special permits for plying overnight. 7. More frequent and affordable public mass transport systems lime trams and metros to connect major junctions. 8. Subsidised public transport cards for aged, students, women, essential workers, BPL. 9. Campaign about the 'Unsafe auto rides' like we have for anti smoking campaigns. 10. Levy ' annual road safety tax' on auto owners at a higher price, multiplied by the factor of the age of the vehicle. 11. Make them totally app based, thus avoiding unnecessary plying on the roads looking for passengers. Only EVs can do taxiying.

Auto Rickshaws can access areas that Metros and Buses can't. I think it would be a good idea to abolish Autos on main thoroughfares and routes which basically can be accessed by Buses and Metros. The issues regarding fuel consumption, noise, safety can be considered later. Regulating capacity can be done later.
The main reason is it looks so ugly as well, most of them are not well educated and typically have connections with the local goons so they have no manners or etiquette on how to speak with passengers and etc. And because of their lack of education, it also points to the safety concerns of the passengers, especially women. Most auto drivers don't even follow traffic rules and mess up all the road traffic management. Government should really find some solutions to ban these or at least improve the auto industry.
#AskPT Govt should ban all rickshaw and cheap vehicles then only rich people would be able afford cars and bikes. This will reduce the traffic and horn problem wouldn't exist. And not just that accident, air pollution, usage of fuels will also decrease (india will save alot of foreign reserves). People will start to use public transport and govt should electrify those public transport vehicles and put a ban on selling of fuel vehicles. But govt should take one step at a time. If you think I'm wrong or have any suggestions then please give me a valid point👇🏼

Improve Metros, buses and other public Infastructure.

Even though they don't pollute air or noise, but still in excessive number it is going to be a problem
they literally make their stands any where in the city. they just occupy the area...& also they are slow. But they are ruthless
Co-existence of all modes.
ban is super extreme reaction , but asking companies to sell something with 4 wheels and some sort of gate is a reasonable ask ... even just using a nano in place of a auto will make everything so much more safer

although I wanna disagree on this with you@@harshithsg5483
but, sadly I would agree, Autos do have an advantage of direct talk and negotiations on spot, whereas downloading an app and paying twice the amount for a cab, for a relatively small distance, is not feasible
but still, if indeed, Indians get more richer and richer, then maybe CABs can indeed do something, we need some E-car which is on par of an Auto Rickshaw right now... and try to impose them... these should also have safety features.... slowly these smaller E-cars and Electric Auto hybrid kind of vehicle might indeed do something great
like E-rickshaws did in the extreme small distance scenarios
I think they should promote some separate lanes for Auto travel too in the future so that they dont clutter the main roads... (given the fact that, these Auto Rickshaw drivers gang always hoards near cuts and turns, jamming the roads and not even allowing vehicles to move properly through, causing in even more jams

It has been 4yr+ that I haven't rode a Auto rickshaw because of their behavior, the price and the compromise in safety.

people should be educated from base level in some workshops regularly to show them the longer term benefits... the drivers should get more better jobs and pay by themselves, government can help in it, to decrease autos, public transport for the middle class mostly, should be good, and the rich manufacturers must be held accountable and forced to produce better vehicles and that too in a good government watch

Glad that you have brought this up as substantial discussion point.

Autos have designated mass parking, or they have auto stands where they queue up to take passengers,
India is so cheap I am never going back there
okay so here's the things we can do
1st... we need proper MODERN bus stands with modern buses which work on time (not like those Congress era buses which were almost on the brink to fall apart, with doors open so that the person will run and jump into it before it misses, lol still remember that)
2nd... we must make people rely more on Metros and Buses, so to bring people to these stands, we must do something which acts as a cheap bridge, well why not convert all Autos for this purpose only? separate lanes, with relatively bigger, modern Autos, which are actually smaller Electric cars (which can be made as big as a Nano, or Iris or Jeeto as said in a comment by someone below), the people can be said to do this task only, and forcing companies to undertake this route
thus the clutter on normal roads, should relatively stop due to Autos, and people shall resume going in metro trains or buses
we should make these 2 so good in terms of quality, pricing per ticket, availability, accessibility, better planned, and much more safer, with being on time, that too regularly in certain time periods...
we can do this, there's an Auto, if someone doesnt wanna use his car, he hops into an auto rickshaw, and as they are said to ONLY move up till stations or bus stands, they shall abide by this, and do so, then when boarding a bus, the bus should incorporate some UPI like model, where the driver just sits, and the QR code should be made to be scanned by the person near the entrance (ensured by some conductor) so that their tickets get validated, and they begin to just take a seat and move on to the next destination, the distance between the time interval (if one bus gets missed) shall be very small, for the same route, almost 5-10 mins only, so that people wait and take it... I think also almost half the Auto rickshaw drivers can be persuaded into driving buses or some bigger vehicles or do some better jobs in transportation side, so that, due to the HIGHER MONEY earnt, they automatically themselves too, leave driving autos...
a great public infrastructure model, with great quality of buses and metro trains, on an even bigger and more REGULARITY based scale, can indeed do wonders for Indian roads, almost half the traffic is of autos on roads, thus roads will also free up a little bit
we cannot totally BAN these things in one go and expect them to not revolt, instead we must do it slowly, I think if we wanna become developed by 2047, then surely we still have 20 more years, we can indeed do something in this time period
also the higher amount of money being earnt by the Auto rickshaw drivers turned bus drivers or Electronic small cabs drivers, will also further off their poverty trap and the lowest of the lowest earning people, could finally rise up too.. this can be sustained as Indian middle class is growing more and more, they would be able to afford all of these newer facilities if made compulsory
thus yes, things can be changed and it would benefit all (not the lobby btw who makes these autos)
then maybe government can play an UNO reverse... Govt can indeed give some incentives to these manufacturers to produce smaller Electronic cabs (size of a NANO) and buses or their components... and try to woo them somehow... if the lobby also agrees to this, then the problem from top to bottom, shall be finished
government should seriously look into all this...
These Autos are not the problem, The Problem is the person driving them, Just like others they also get the licence for Rs 5000, meaning they don't know how to drive and how to actually use the roads,
Fix this problem and Auto will be not a problem,
It's not about banning autos it's about managing public transport, safer, reliable & cost-efficient giving more jobs
The main reason for not banning the auto(s) is because it is the backbone of our service sector and also contribute so much in our economy
And the huge vote bank.

Motorcycle should be banned if considering its accident rate. . And if there is behavioral problems with drivers it is the problem of our society not exclusively for autos....
Auto drivers drive as if they have a baggage put behind.
May be lobbying by manufacturers & auto rickshaw unions are the cause that may be the reason for not banning them . On top of that lack of efficient public transport like buses with their own dedicated lanes to increase their speed .
A question comes to my mind always why does Ev autos charge same as gas auto ?
Though I share the same thought process but its almost impossible and impractical to ban autos.
1. Banning Autos mean we need more cars or buses on the roads, which would take even more space and create more jams.
2. The mass transport system wont be sufficient for the huge population of India.
3. Major public transport systems do not cater to the last mile destination.
Options:

Make fibre auto rikshaw then see how rikshavale will get well disciplined
#AskPT Govt should ban all rickshaw and cheap vehicles then only rich people would be able afford cars and bikes. This will reduce the traffic and horn problem wouldn't exist. And not just that accident, air pollution, usage of fuels will also decrease (india will save alot of foreign reserves). People will start to use public transport and govt should electrify those public transport vehicles and put a ban on selling of fuel vehicles. But govt should take one step at a time.
If you think I'm wrong or have any suggestions then please give me a valid point👇🏼
