I used to go to Goa before I went to Thailand once in 2017 and haven't visited Goa ever since. The hospitality and the honesty in those people is very evident. They don't want to loot you but they welcome you with open arms.
+1 After i went to thailand in 2023… I got to know what hospitality is.. & In goa we were looted of ₹13k for a minor dent on front mudguard/ fender of the scooty that we had hired, and the scooty lender even abused us & even pushed my friend, they knew we were in hurry as we had to catch the train. Thailand is cheap and people are humble. Even the lady cab driver was helping me put my luggage in the cab. Now I just cannot think of goa as a destination to spend my holidays.
Foreigners are running away from Indians. They want to escape from the Indian crowd and hoped that if they went to the unknown secluded beaches in the very South of Goa they could escape the boisterous rowdy Rathore crowds but even those places have not been spared and so the foreigners have stopped coming to Goa now.
Nobody is going to be so stupid and stop coming to Goa just because the taxiwallas are charging higher rates. There are people in India who have tons of spare cash for whom a few thousand bucks is nothing. They will not hesitate for a minute because they can easily afford to pay it. Afterall how much extra will they be paying for a 2/3 day stay. These same people pay hundreds of rupees for a cup of coffee in the 5-star hotel that they are staying at without blinking an eye. This issue is basically generated by the lower middle class, budget class wallah, paisa vasool wallah, bargain hunters. The rich will continue to come to Goa as they can afford it with ease. The sheer dynamics of economics controls pricing. Where there is a demand there are people who are ready to supply. Ultimately only Adani, Ambani and retired Modi will be able to afford the taxi fares in Goa. Goa will be the Paris of India and not the Bankok or Malaysia where ordinary people go for holidays. Soon only the rich will make a statement by going to Goa. It will be a status symbol of class and style to be seen in Goa. People like you and me will only be seen at Juhu beach or Bandstand.😁😁😁
My brother was brutally assaulted by 10 individuals, including a local ice stall vendor, over a minor issue. He suffered severe facial injuries, requiring costly treatment in Hyderabad (₹7 lakhs). Shockingly, the Goa police have been unresponsive. Justice needs to be served!" Better to enjoy your holidays in Thailand or bali. 😢
Goa Police is corrupt. They knew who killed Scarlett but did not arrest criminals. Goa traffic police look for every opportunity to extort money. I am from Goa.
Really sorry that you and your family had to go through this but Goa is indeed not the same that it was 20 years ago. Infact Goans themselves have migrated to Europe due to bad government policies and lack of good jobs. The Goan diaspora in Goa is slowly disappearing and what you see on the coastal belts are people who have migrated to Goa and causing all these problems. Really sorry that the real Goans couldn’t do much about this.

Tourism in India has become totally unattractive to foreigners. It’s not just Goa, India and Indians are looked at as scammers. A lot of good Indians are suffering because of this. For example, Indians working in call centers in North America or Europe have to identify themselves as locals. When foreigners sees or hear Indians, a thought comes to their mind about the scam that had happened to them. Unfortunately government cannot control these things because some of these activities have blessings from politicians (corruption).
I agree that the downfall in tourism is not only limited to Goa but it's happening to all the Indian tourists destinations. Scamming it another aspect but don't think it is one of the main reason as tourists destination such as Paris are known for scamming people and Parisian literally hates tourists and do not talk in English, yet it is one of the most visited places in the world.

Before moving to Canada, I traveled extensively across India, visiting places like Sikkim, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Darjeeling, Hyderabad, Vizag, and Puri. One issue that stood out was the prevalence of the taxi mafia at almost every tourist destination. While Himachal Pradesh was an exception, the situation was similar elsewhere, and I found it particularly problematic in Sikkim and Puri.... Everywhere I found corruption at its peak in India...!
Behind all corruption there is a politician that gets his cut. We left because paying a bribe is illegal in our country and we would be charged in our home country. We are talking about an investment in the $10s of million USD. Its a cultural problem. Things have to change or India will always be a poor country. The rich will get richer but it will never trickle down to the poor.

One major point that you missed Akash is that all the cars and two-wheelers that you rent are rented illegally. The protocol is that as soon as it is past 9 or 10 at night, the renting services switch off their mobile phones at the pretext of going off to work and that is when police gets stationed every few kilometers to catch riders/drivers. So, we were never able to properly regulate commuting in the biggest tourist hub of the country.

Anytime Thailand is a favorite destination. I last visited Goa in 2016 and just after arrival I was fleeced by Taxi Driver (poor looking Wagon R taxi) and I paid 3x of what should be paid from Airport to North Goa. Same happened when I traveled from North to South Goa. In all I spent 13-14K for hotel transfers and internal travel in Goa for 5 day trip. I decided never to return to Goa ever again. Compare this to Thailand, I boarded Bus from Bangkok to Pattaya that was stationed on departure bay of Swarnabhumi Airport. A spacious top line AC bus charging just 700 Bhat (Rs 1200 at the time) took us 150 km in 2 hours. Internally in Thailand I was traveling in Taxis like Toyota Corolla/Camry charging us just 3000 - 3500 (in rupees) for full 8 hours.

Not rude for all tourists, But especially for north Indian, visitors behave irresponsibly, as if being on vacation gives them the freedom to disregard rules or be inconsiderate. If anyone questions their behavior, they’re quick to label Goa or Goans as the problem. This wasn’t such a widespread issue a few years ago. I live outside India and visited Chile and Brazil recently over two weeks. I did not face any major issues despite not knowing their respective languages at all (Spanish and Portuguese). In Chile, I was mostly hiking in a national park. In Brazil, I went to couple of big cities Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo and a town in between them called Paraty. Hotel staff was professional (and could speak English mostly), no overcharging, traffic was very disciplined (except motorcycle riders), did not feel the pollution despite lot of cars on the road in big cities, locals those who could speak English were friendly (many people can't), but I frequently communicated using google translate as well. Fairly good cleanliness, no stray dogs, buses (private) were cheap and safe and always departed on time (even overnight journeys). Major tourist spots were efficiently managed. In Brazil, you can get scammed in big cities by cab drivers, fruit vendors etc but these things are avoidable. I did see lot of homeless in couple of areas in Sao Paulo. Absolutely loved the live music at their restaurants though 🎶 I have never been to Goa and these issues seem much worse than what I've heard. Unfortunately, Indian tourism as a whole has gone downhill. One important point this episode missed is increasing rac ism against Indians on social media. It will definitely impact tourism further especially with issues like women's safety unless the government does serious course correction.
Edit: For those interested, the name of the park in Chile was Torres Del Paine national park. Of course, it's quite a bit of flying distance from India (first Santiago, then Puerto Natales). But even from the US west coast, it's a 17 hour flight minimum. But yes, if you are into hiking and can afford it, you will love the experience!
Went on Christmas of 2024. It was almost like off-season. I do travel to Goa almost twice a year since previous 12 years. Reasons I noticed over the time ; 1) Division between Veg and Nonveg Restaurants. Authentic Goan menu is either vanishing or have become too expensive. Many of these are run by people from Delhi, Gujrat and Rajasthan who have brought their own menu on the table ! 2) Drinks served on Restaurants have been overpriced 3) Airfare have increased tremendously 4) Means to local transport has not updated over the time 5) There is no control over Scammers everywhere with fake lottery tickets and free stay claimants But most importantly I think Govt must focus on its local, Continental and Indian food, Culture, clean beaches and better transport rather than only burdening all taxes

Every tourist destination in India feels the same. They are not very family-friendly, and it often feels like everyone is trying to exploit you-be it hotels, taxis, or local guides, who approach you persistently even when you don’t need them. If you do hire a guide, they may pass you off to someone else, and the cycle of exploitation continues. Peaceful sleep in hotels can be a concern due to worries about hidden cameras. Locals sometimes treat tourists as if they are enemies (although some tourists themselves lack civic sense and create disturbances). Overall, visiting as a family can feel more like torture than a holiday. However, if you are an experienced traveler who knows how to handle these challenges, it’s manageable. Instead of feeling like a vacation, it becomes more of an opportunity to showcase your survival skills.

Thank you for your 2 rs advice.....But truth is Everyone wants a piece of Goa. They want to visit, relax, and enjoy what the state has to offer. While there are genuinely good tourists who come to have a great time and respect the place, many lack civic sense. Some visitors behave irresponsibly as if being on vacation gives them the freedom to disregard rules or be inconsiderate. If anyone questions their behavior, they’re quick to label Goa or Goans as the problem. Foreign tourism, which once thrived, has significantly declined. A major reason for this is the overcrowding of popular spots with tourists who often lack awareness about respecting local culture and norms. For instance, many foreign tourists feel uncomfortable due to excessive staring, particularly on beaches, which were once known for their relaxed, quiet, and natural vibe. Overcrowding, especially on Goa's most popular beaches, has detracted from this charm.

Let's be honest. Goa is not at all pretty. Compared to the pristine blue and emerald beaches across the world, Goan beaches are like filthy, smelly ponds. The only reason Russian and Israeli tourists would flock here in the past was the low cost. But since much prettier beach destinations across the world have become affordable and attractive, Goa has gone on decline and will continue to. Regarding this drug thing, well, the remaining young Indian tourists that continue to visit Goa go there primarily for alcohol and drugs. Let's just face the truth. Goa was never worth it and just blown out of proportion in the past.
visited Goa in 2019 and the first thing that struck me was how expensive the taxi prices were. I booked a Taxi on Ola in my city in the morning. Home to airport was 841 (41 KMS) on an air conditioned cab (Toll price included). When I landed in Goa Airport in the evening, Ola / Uber wasn't available and had to book a prepaid taxi from airport to hotel and it was 1250 (42 Kms in a non airconditioned cab). The hotel did not have my reservation when I arrived (I had booked the room weeks in advance and even called them the day before by departure to confirm). Since I arrived at 5 PM, they thought I may not turn up and passed my room to another party. Made us wait for 30 mins after which they gave us a shabby room with no bright lights. Only one dim night light was on. Upon further argument, they replaced the bulbs and cleaned my room. They never cleaned the room once after that during my 5 days of stay there. The breakfast included with the hotel booking was a little more than "Fried Matter". Couldn't find much cheaper street food options like in Pattaya / Sri Lanka or Bangkok. when we visited Calangute beach in the evening, it was so crowded and chaotic. When we approached a recliner in a shack, the owner of the shack said we could only use the shack if we ordered food / drinks worth 1000 or above . we had to order drinks and food just to have a place to sit as the beach was so crowded and it was practically impossible to sit anywhere else. and the couple of hours we used the recliner for, the temporary tattoo guys kept taunting us to buy. On top of that, the hotel staff kept offering us "dolphin tour packages" although we repeatedly kept denying. We researched some of the blogs and found that Calangute had a bus connectivity to airport and booked tickets for the same on Yatra. While we were waiting for the bus at the designated pick up spot, around 3 cab guys one after the other came over and requested we use their services. When we declined, stating that we had light a luggage and that we were waiting for the airport bus, they gave a strange look. I swear all 3 gave a similar look. When other batches of tourists started to arrive, they did the same with them too. Not sure how things are now.. But then most shops demanded cash payments only, although UPI had become mainstream in 2019. Luckily, we were spared the bike rental scams (about which I heard a lot, but thankfully did not experience) as we booked a bike thru our hotel.
Right... Touting has become a massive problem not just in Goa but any tourist destination in India. People want to be left in peace on a vacation not harried up or rustled. I am from Goa. The reason for destruction of Goa is by the present government making it very difficult for the original locals to run their business. Most of them have sold and relocated out of India and have been replaced by businessmen from Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan. So the simplicity and the quiet tourism it sold has gone through the window. What remains are these non goans and locals who have filled the space vacated are sometimes unsavory. With the COVID, local tourists filled the space vacated by the foreign tourists. These tourists were coming here to let their hair down unlike the foreigners were here to relax. So the tourism has become loud and filled with scams, which is a cringe.

I am planning to visit turkey in April. It will hardly cost me 1-1.25 lakh with all activities and good hospitality. In India, if I plan to visit Jodhpur or other cities, flights are 14-15K and tour will cost me 40-50k for the same period. Why the hell I will spend around 50-60k for such pathetic tourism.Hence, it’s good to visit foreign countries. N.B: if you visit Vietnam,Thailand, etc. then it will cost almost similar to any indian city package.
@@bharatmishra250 yes. Turkish Lira is now degraded. Return flight is around 30-40K. Visa 17K, if u have Schengen visa then e visa is 3-4K. Rest depends on how you spend. Istanbul u can tour for 30-40k with accommodation for 4-5 days. But it also depends on how many cities u r visiting. Capadoccia is costlier, as its hot air balloon activity will cost 22k in peak season. Also depends whether u r visiting via which travel agency or travelling alone as an explorer. So, 1-1.25 lakh is sufficient for atleast Istanbul and cappadocia for 4-5 days with return flights and visa.

As a goan, I totally agree with what you say The main problem in goa is only about two things 1. The government wants more tourists 2. The people are sick of the not so proper infrastructure which causes traffic jams on new year's eve for hours One tourist had approached me on 31st to ask for directions, the look on her face said it all, the lady was frustrated and some or the other way wanted to return to her hotel. When I asked her what the matter is, she replied saying that all the localities to whom she asked anything were too rude. this is generally seen only in north Goa after you cross porvorim. South goans don't want any drugs or sunburn in their district as it is a very nature friendly zone with hospitable people who welcome everyone. The current government is filled with dick heads who are uneducated, bros can't even speak proper Hindi. The cm is too busy in giving jobs to his well wishers and inviting Mahesh kale sir to sing on new year's eve. I had once visited the legislative assembly as a school visit, all MLA's were fighting as if they're dogs and cats. I knew better information than them being 14 years old now. Hopefully the cabinet reshuffle will provide us with a good cm or I can atleast say that my vote is not going to the current bjp government even though I come from an rss background.
I have no hopes. All that is happening in Goa begins at the Central govt level. These guys in our state govt only want to impress their Godfather, nothing else. Our land is gone. Our Mhadei is gone and our Goans are also going. It's very sad but true. Our children will never see the Goa we have lived in since our childhood.

Definitely outside India. I have been to Goa 4 times in the last 10 years and I can tell you things are completely out of hand there and no Goan is ready to provide genuine service to tourists. feel so sad that a dream destination turned out to be a terrible vacation for many people. Wish government was sensible enough to make Goa a real Dream Destination for the world.
Well, I watched the video 2 days before i went goa and this is my 4th time. When i went for second time, we took a thar for rent and were not much familiar with the people in goa, everything went great until we returned the vehicle (at margoa) and they spotted a new microscopic scratch on the vehicle and took 8,000 at the time from and started harassing, showing rowidsm and other stuffs! Well yesterday i went again for the 4th time and took a scooter which with the same issue got 3,200 extra payment near Calangute beach, a rent bike (not shop, not any registered thing) opposite to royal wines. Here are the things about Goa:- 1. Filled with varieties of scammers 2. Non welcoming local people 3. Terrible transportation facilities 4. High cost for everything (even a water bottle with mrp 20 is sold from a range of 30 - 100) 5. Sometimes heavily crowded 6. Traffic police focusing on travellers And much more.... At the end i wouldn't recommend people to go Goa as the old heavenly goa has turned into a great scamming spot of india !
My 2 different friend groups just recently went on a trip to celebrate New years, one went to Goa their per person cost was 40k for 5 day trip, other went to Vietnam and Malaysia 10 day trip and their cost was 50k per person including flights, after seeing this why a person in their right mindset would prefer Goa and not Vietnam and Malaysia and also the bragging rights of a "foreign trip". Also Thailand trip also costs somewhat around the same and most of the times it is cheaper flight tickets to Bangkok than Delhi to Goa

@@AmarMax_III I agree and I have seen many people who act very rude with the lodge owners and other places it's sad but it also happens the other way around. The fact about Goa Miles I have faced personally , our college is in South Goa near the Dabolim airport but the Taxi Mafia is so strong that when I book a Cab through Goa Miles I have to board the cab in such a place so that the other taxi owners cannot see this happening.
Been in Goa in December. Thought it would be crowded but surprisingly the roads were empty. Cant deny the truth that airbnbs, food, transport has become a lot expensive. What had been my budget for entire five day stay years ago was poofed in few meals now.
I dont understand how any sensible government doesn't curb scams. I don't understand how any sensible hotel doesn't understand that scams will drive away tourists in the long run. And I'm shocked that taxi apps are not operated in Goa of all places. This is heartbreaking.
This last year I went to both Goa and Thailand in a span of 3 months. I can see why people are avoiding Goa from the overpriced hotels, and the polluted beaches to the ride encounters with the taxi drivers. Thailand was so much better and was value for money.

Exactly Even the cost of travelling shall be taken into account Why people's go on a vacation? Obviously they wouldn't stick inside the hotel for their entire trip Now seeing the sorry state of Tax regime and public transport clearly affected the tourism

It's heartbreaking to see that Goa, once a tourist paradise, is losing its charm. Tourists are leaving because of the way some of us treat them. Instead of working together to improve, we are pointing fingers at each other-locals blaming migrants, and our leaders dismissing it as a conspiracy.

Absolutely loved the live music at their restaurants though 🎶
I have never been to Goa and these issues seem much worse than what I've heard.
Women's safety is nothing new as an issue in India or Goa with the kind of mentality some people have.
Classic example of what goes around comes around.
Went on Christmas of 2024. It was almost like off-season. I do travel to Goa almost twice a year since previous 12 years.
Reasons I noticed over the time ;
1) Division between Veg and Nonveg Restaurants. Authentic Goan menu is either vanishing or have become too expensive. Many of these are run by people from Delhi, Gujrat and Rajasthan who have brought their own menu on the table !
2) Drinks served on Restaurants have been overpriced
3) Airfare have increased tremendously
4) Means to local transport has not updated over the time
5) There is no control over Scammers everywhere with fake lottery tickets and free stay claimants
But most importantly I think Govt must focus on its local, Continental and Indian food, Culture, clean beaches and better transport rather than only burdening all taxes
My friends from Russia used to have appartments for like 14-15k a month and now they are being asked to pay 25k!!! That's really tough for them when even Russian Ruble is getting weaker!

So isnt that a blessing? Foreign tourists loved Goa because of less crowds..
Indeed yes. Tourists come down for relaxation, these people come down to drink cheap alcohol and create nuisance.
We visited Rajasthan recently, the people were good and nice with us. Other than Desert safari, no one expected tips.

They will accept the booking, call you and fix their own prices, they don't care what the price comes up on screen. Only after u accept their terms they will show up. Else, they will straight away ask you to cancel and not waste their time. When I booked an OLA from racecourse to radison, the fare came up as 250. The driver called me up and said that the fare would be 800. That's more than 3 times the price shown. He was like, "sir I'm the driver not you, not Ola. I get headache to go to work outside bcoz of the mess created by THE GOA GOVT.
Begining of the end for goa tourism. RIP.
Ja be Bikha...It is better for us if fewer tourists visit goa, Too much development spoils goa..Need air to breathe.

As a goan, I totally agree with what you say
The main problem in goa is only about two things
1. The government wants more tourists
2. The people are sick of the not so proper infrastructure which causes traffic jams on new year's eve for hours
One tourist had approached me on 31st to ask for directions, the look on her face said it all, the lady was frustrated and some or the other way wanted to return to her hotel.
Wretched SANGHIS.
@@vargheseb8602 pramod sawant was made the cm because he was the only person who was a sanghi rest all are congressmen. Bjp is turning into congress from 2009
In 2018 I went to Goa from Mumbai by train and reached Madgaon(At that time I don't know Thivim is the nearest to North Goa). I took a taxi from Madgaon and reached Calangute by 1800/-. After 2 days in Goa I went to Kolkata by flight. Ticket cost was 2500/-. I thought some time I had spent 1800 for 50km and for 2500 spent for 2200km
We Indians should be ashamed of chewing tobacco and spitting everywhere especially Northern part of India. This is killing our image and reputation. Scammers are next shame. Govt. is helpless and hopeless
We are aware of these issues, hence planned to go to Munnar, Kerala next month with family.
beautiful place!
I am from Goa originally, and yeah I totally agree that Goan government has failed to live upto to its tourist expectations.
Not government it's local gosn people if government wants to do anything they protest

@ well yes also .. but not all are like that.. also the tourist who come to Goa take Goa for granted let’s agree to that

Agree, i used to visit goa before but it has become way too expensive now a days. During year end cost there booms like foreign expensive countries.
Kerala, Just came back today after an awesome, safe and tourist friendly New Year Celebration. If life gives a chance enter 2026, then that too for sure I am going to celebrate back in Kerala.
I came across a post on threads 'which one country would you not visit? '
And most answers were India
Even I won't visit.. And I am Indian. It's so difficult to travel in this country... Spcly as a woman.. Unless you are travelling as a ultra rich.. mostly it's not a good experience..
Went to agra with my cousin sister recently.. The bus conductor lied to us saying the bus is govt bus.. Which it wasn't... Then didn't give us tickets.. And left us in middle of nowhere in delhi at 12am.. Some random ass road instead of taking to ISBT saying thats the last stop..
I am from delhi, and even I was worried.. Booked an ola with double the price and hurried home.. Imagine if I was a foreign tourist...
I never visit any Indian place for tourism.....I will spend that money and some more in Thailand srilanka or Maldives
Thanks for highlighting the actual scenario of Goa tourism Akash.. God bless and keep strong bro 💪
I visited Goa 4 years back almost missed flight due to narrow airport approach road and chaos at airport with long ques.Hotel prices are sky rocketed here.2 months I visited Dubai there I got Hyat place hotel with breakfast lunch dinner for 16k per night , same package in India costs around 25k.
Noticed this since 2016
Dubai is much better
Abu Dhabi is even better than Dubai,
Masqat is good and peaceful,
Stopped spending on tourism in India
Felt not welcoming not only in Goa, but in Chennai, Pondicherry, Bombay, Gurgaon, Agra, Delhi, Mysoor, Bangalore, Vishakapatnum, Mahabaleshwar, Jaipur, Fatehpur, Dehradun, Nagpur, Rishikesh, tired of counting
The only places that felt welcomed were Munnar, Ooty, Hyderabad,
Why should a person spent money to torture himself
Kerala is very welcoming. it is expensive in a straight forward way.
Its not Goans, its a large amount of migrants.
Yes. If so GOA Govt and Indian Tourism must look into this matter very seriously as fast as possible 🙏🙏
Govt cant do anything. There is a shift in tourism. People are tired of Goa taxi mafias and costly hotels.
Here are the things about Goa:-
1. Filled with varieties of scammers
2. Non welcoming local people
3. Terrible transportation facilities
4. High cost for everything (even a water bottle with mrp 20 is sold from a range of 30 - 100)
5. Sometimes heavily crowded
6. Traffic police focusing on travellers
And much more....
I am a student in BITS Pilani Goa and I agree locals who are in tourist related businesses tend to be rude but other people in non tourist related roles are very friendly

@@AmarMax_III I agree and I have seen many people who act very rude with the lodge owners and other places it's sad but it also happens the other way around.
Actually the connect between the locals and the tourists have been strained so much that people have forgotten to enjoy the beautiful nature of Goa.
The fact about Goa Miles I have faced personally , our college is in South Goa near the Dabolim airport but the Taxi Mafia is so strong that when I book a Cab through Goa Miles I have to board the cab in such a place so that the other taxi owners cannot see this happening.
Not rude, but extorting more specifically

@@ayushjot_singh yeah why ? K.K. Birla Goa Campus ?
Been in Goa in December. Thought it would be crowded but surprisingly the roads were empty. Cant deny the truth that airbnbs, food, transport has become a lot expensive. What had been my budget for entire five day stay years ago was poofed in few meals now.
How do you have so much money
I have never been to goa but was planning this month but after seeing all this news I've changed my destination to other place .
I dont understand how any sensible government doesn't curb scams. I don't understand how any sensible hotel doesn't understand that scams will drive away tourists in the long run. And I'm shocked that taxi apps are not operated in Goa of all places. This is heartbreaking.
guess which party is governing goa?
This last year I went to both Goa and Thailand in a span of 3 months. I can see why people are avoiding Goa from the overpriced hotels, and the polluted beaches to the ride encounters with the taxi drivers. Thailand was so much better and was value for money.
West Bengal should seize this opportunity. It has both a long coastline and Himalayan range of mountains.
ঠিক, তবে বোধ হয়না কিস্যু হবে।
They are Happy with jobless youth and freebies by tmc
Bangladeshi muslims are seizing west bengal
Just go to Kolkata sealdah , Newton,Salt Lake ,and nearby stations
Odisha has better beaches than West Bengal. But darjeeling is good
Bengal situation is pathetic under current government, they focus only on vote bank freebies and looting people by ssc scam Narada Sarada Coal ration scam etc no focus on development
No new industry for Bengali people rather they are decreasing
I agree with everything that you said. I must say that I travelled to pattaya last year and got a 3 star hotel room at 1500 very near to the beach along with swimming pool access.. Can we ever have this rate at Goa? Better to travel other countries than a place where there is a risk of life.
I think it has more to do with less value for money. Thailand and Vietnam are more preferable as compared to Goa.
Exactly
Even the cost of travelling shall be taken into account
Why people's go on a vacation?
Obviously they wouldn't stick inside the hotel for their entire trip
Now seeing the sorry state of Tax regime and public transport clearly affected the tourism
Agreed, tourism is India feels like it’s really not really worth the money, it doesn’t help that the civic sense of general public practically all over the country is as low as it gets, and government, oh boy where do I even start? if things aren’t sorted we’ll just keep hitting rock bottom after rock bottom

@@may091985 There are several issues impacting tourism in India:
1. Lack of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation.
2. Scamming of tourists. They are seen as walking ATMs.
3. Crimes against tourists. A female Spanish biker was r@ped in Jharkhand last year.
4. Poor infrastructure.
5. Pollution.
etc etc
I was wondering if all these are South Asian problems. Then I checked Sri Lanka and found it to be clean, organised and less prone to crimes.
@@may091985 Key issues affecting tourism in India are:
1. Poor infrastructure
2. Lack of cleanliness
3. Safety concerns (especially for women)
4. Unregulated pricing
5. Overcrowding at popular destinations
6. Insufficient promotion of lesser-known spots.
It isn’t a South Asian issue since Sri Lanka definitely looks clean and organised.
As citizens of this country, we need to step up, take responsibility, and work towards a better future for all. Let's show kindness, patience, and respect to everyone, so we can rebuild Goa and make it a welcoming place once again. It's time to stop the blame game and start making positive changes
Visited goa dec was empty despite exposition, there are tourists in north goa yet not as expected. Foreigners totally absent. High prices, taxi mafia, violence. All causing.
I had a very bad experience in Goa in the month of June, 24. People there have become so unfriendly and rude towards the tourists. The localities complain that the tourists have destroyed Goan culture and the environment. Earlier, once I and my family got lost late at night and I still remember how the locals have guided us to our hotel. Sadly the place is no longer safe for the tourists.
Im from Goa - Calangute and you are rite about all you said, but tourism is not empty, its decline by 25%.
