The beyer pads fit great on my AKG k240s, and it's a good combination if you care more about comfort than sound. That combination is my go-to TV and Internet video headphone, where you just care about comfort and nothing else.

I'm hard-of-hearing, probably the polar opposite of an audiophile, and only really researching to buy my first pair of real headphones and I basically watched this entire video. Sigh, I've probably spent about 5 hours now watching his videos trying to get a good idea of what I'm doing. Why am I doing this? I have no earthly idea, but this guy is entertaining, absent on the bullshit, and knows what the hell he is talking about. So it works for me.

Dekoni elite hybrids on DT 1990s are the best combo I've found. It basically turns them into a more detailed open back ether C. Or at least that's the best way I can describe it. Still worth keeping the A pads around though.

  • @cameriqueTV

Best pad review video ever. I wonder how difficult it would be to sew up a custom pad, sized perfectly for your own ears. Finding the material is a challenge as well. What would be perfect is a shaped foam that has space behind the pad for earlobes. Would you agree that angled hybrids would be best for comfort and sound isolation?

I’m looking for a pair of pads that are thick to replace the original thin pads of my MDR 7506 headphones because the original pair literally hurt my ear. Do the cowhide pads reduce treble a WHOLE LOT, or just slightly? I've got a pair of Yamaha's that sound PERFECT except the treble can get a TEEENY TINY bit too sharp around 9-10k. I'm considering getting the cowhides to fix that, but I'm afraid of losing crispness and detail. Thoughts?

When it comes to pads, soundwise does it make any difference between brands when you take into account the materials? Like, would the ZMF velour pads sound the same to the Brainwavz velours, just better built? Same for the PU's, sheepskins, hybrids and others. 'Cause I already have the Brainwavz oval microsuede, PU, sheepskin and angled sheepskin, so I'm not terribly keen on getting more pad but would like to know for future reference.

Does anyone know if the Brainwavz Angled Memory Foam pads fit on Audio Technica ad900x headphones? I have the ebay pads Zeos recommended awhile back but they are starting to go flat and id like to try the Brainwavz Angled Memory Foam pads since i can get them with prime shipping but i'm not sure if they will fit.

What pair of headphones do you think will be best if I want the most detail and overall music enjoyment. I've listened to $100.000 plus speaker setups, and now I want something that can bring me closest to that sound in a pair of headphones, for under $700...? Please help me make a decision...

Stax? They are over 700 for the 3100 setup.
Monoprice 1060's and a good dac/amp is next I guess.

What pads would you suggest for the hd660s? The goal is to increase the soundstage.

So which are the best third-party pads for the ATH-M40X? I hate the stock pads. I need as little alteration to the sound as possible and hopefully better comfort and quality. Possible?

Hey Z. I have the V-MODA M-100s with their upgraded "XL" pads. They are still uncomfortable. Do you know if any aftermarket will fit??

Hard to say with those. The cups are so small.

So if I have Fostex X00 I should stick with the weird shape pads or go to the 900 shape pads? Just tell me what to do. I trusted you on the X00 and ha2 purchases! :)

I'm really wanting to buy new pads HE400i's, but not sure which way to go. In your your review, you didn't try different pads on them, but I know you've experimented with different pads on Hifiman headphones. So with all that said, which direction would you go? I probably wouldn't bother you with this question, but good pads cost a lot and I'm a bit gun shy to pull the trigger on anything.

I can only guess and I can guess just as wrong as you. Velour is probably the way to keep them sounding the most similar.
