  • In this video, we show you how to install the CVFab hot and cold side charge pipe kit with an HKS blow off valve on your Focus ST!
    The Intercooler Charge Pipe Kit with HKS Flange is designed to improve the performance of your Focus ST's turbo by facilitating better airflow to your intercooler. This kit replaces the weak stock rubber hot-side and the restrictive cold-side piping with larger mandrel-bent aluminum tubing for smoother airflow.
    Thank you CVFab for providing us with this charge pipe kit!

    I’m throwing this kit on my ST tomorrow. Hopefully it goes as smooth as the videos show

    Alex sold me this kit. Both hot side and cold side pipes with the HKS flange and the HKS blowoff. Cold side L shaped hose from intercooler to intake manifold was really tight and AC compressor rubs on it. I trimmed about 1/2" inch off to give it more clearance but it's still really close but better.

    I wish that the hot side pipe has more length to it by a few inches, working on a customer car and he got an upgraded turbo, given that the dimensions of the turbo could be different, the coupler to the compressor housing outlet BARELY reaches the hot side pipe if it's installed fully on the turbo.
    If the kit is meant to fit upgraded and OEM, then wiggle room in the length of the pipe should be accounted for, since sliding a coupler further down a pipe wouldn't hurt anything, vs not giving enough pipe.
    My 2¢

    As much as i want to do a sync 3 upgrade on my 14 st1, i might do this instead 😂

    Can u do it without a big turbo? I have just a turbosmart bov, and lowkey getting tired of the sound.

    did you just remove the oem bov recirc tube to the turbo after capping the other end? 10:38 in vid

    I'm curious why you angled the BOV nipple down towards the ground when the routing for the vacuum lines go upwards to the sensor? Seems like more line then needed with a higher risk of damage to the vacuum line.

      I tried to install it 2 days ago for my ST and the bov is wider from the opposite side and will be blocked by the gearbox. The charge pipe won't reach the throttle body unless bov is rotated upside down as it is in the video.
      Hope this helps.

    A 90° nipple would've been cleaner on the BOV vac, IMO... Looks/sounds great!

    Will I need a tune revision to run this setup on stock turbo or will it run the same?

    • @thejuice8188
      @thejuice8188 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It runs the same. It’s not so much an upgrade as it is preventive maintenance. The stock hot side pipe (off the turbo) has the large “silencer”. It’s a bottle neck. The cold side (to throttle body) is prone to failure. It’s a worth wild upgrade for peace of mind. Plus you get fun turbo noises and prep for Big Turbo.

    If the filter is facing the wrong way will that cause a boost leak?

    • @thejuice8188
      @thejuice8188 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The BOV won’t function. Only flows one way.

      I've the same kit sold to me by Alex. The filter on mine is backwards and my HKS BOV works fine.@@thejuice8188

    Bought this set but having a nightmare trying to get the cold side hooked up. Barely any room

      @graveyardperformance  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s definitely a tight squeeze. If needed you can remove the rear engine mount and rock the motor back for more room

      I cut the L shaped hose on the intercooler side by 1/2" inch. This moved the pipe closer to the front of car and away from the AC compressor.

      Or you can loosen the lower radiator support bracket and slide it right in….no reason the rock the motor.

    Is the bov suppose to spin 360 degrees. I’m assuming not. Can anyone let me know?
