Yeah this is a really nice BOV, its not too loud and obnoxious. It's nice and quiet when just cruising around, you practically cant hear it when you're out of boost or at a lower RPM, but sounds real good when you want it to.
Freddy CJPP do you guys still have this BOV on your RS? If so, could you do a video with better recording of the sounds? The two short sound clips make it hard to gauge.
its not about 'changing it' just to change it, though it is good for a better sound than the factory location...its done by a lot of people to 'relocate' the bov since after market turbos dont use the bypass/bov on the turbo. To replace the factory bypass valve, all you have to do is remove the passenger wheel, and you can literally change out the bypass valve and drop in a nicer turbosmart 50/50 blowoff valve or something.
I assume this is the same install process for a 15-18 focus ST? Im only asking cause this is the best guide out there I can find. Ive heard of lots of issues with the exhale kit installs on Focus's but this makes it look easy

You would think the block-off plate would be designed with a blank stem for the factory hose to terminate on. I mean, am I right? Instead of clamping on a screw and trusting it to hold pressure when it's not a component designed to even do that.
its pretty much identical except i think for the ST, the cold side/passenger side intercooler looks slightly different. On the ST, you just remove the 2 radiator support bolts so you can get a bit more room to get the pipe up in there. But the installation is identical.
What spring would be considered for the rs? My vacuum reading is -9.8x I have a 10psi spring but at full throttle loose boost at 17psi and was thinking it could be the bov spring
I'm thinking of grabbing the CPE pipe from you guys, and then mounting up a Synapse Synchronic BOV with a Tial adaptor. How much space is available for the BOV? The Synapse BOV is fairly large, it looks like a pretty tight fit as is.
Will this cp-e kit work on aftermarket intercoolers, I have a ETS intercooler on my RS. I dont know if the diameter of the ETS intercooler hole is any bigger than the stock intercooler.
We installed this same kit on the ST when we did a turbo upgrade, the location of this setup is more ideal than right at the turn like the stock or stock replacements.
If you run the symposer delete, you can just run that to the Tial/HKS bov instead right? then remove the solenoid and all the vacuum lines to the stock bov location. I like to clean things up as much as possible.. just curious if the MapTap has any advantage over the symposer delete location, or if the vacuum source is literally identical. I'm dropping in a BNR71 once it arrives, but installing the cPE exhale kit (with HKS) before hand since it can be done with the factory turbo too.
@@drzflyest4 Yeah, I received mine pretty quick..like 2 weeks (from JST). Its still sitting in the garage, but i did get the exhale kit installed with the HKS SSQV. I just simply ran the line line going to the Turbosmart bov to the HKS one, this line was already t'd off from the solenoid on the manifold. Its pretty simple, i never used the MapTap.
@@dham99 i found it better to bypass the solenoid and give the bov a true vacuum source. Once had turbo cars all my life and the bov response was weird until i did that.
@@drzflyest4 yeah i meant i ran it off the symposer delete (directly from the manifold). and the line originally ran to the bov up to the top of the engine/solenoid is all just disconnected/removed (parts of it)
cp-e sells the kit with the option of a Tial or HKS BOV, but if you have the Tial version and want to swap on an HKS valve you will need to weld on a new flange.
Now that's a proper blow off sound. The Turbosmart dual port valve sounds like air brakes on a truck.

Does this bov exhale at the slight application of the gas pedal like most do? Or does replacing all of piping address that?
Muzikly Inklined installing the BRA will eliminate that on any bov

The cp-e blow off valve comes with a new cold side intercooler pipe which is less restrictive than the factory intercooler pipe.
