    Good video, I was hoping to see if you would show how to add a line number to some piping.

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean like changing the line type to dashed? I have a video on customizing the line types. th-cam.com/video/vchk-enJqPs/w-d-xo.html

    Sometimes when I draw pipe or duct, by using create similar the pipe or duct uses another reference level, may I know why

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's either using the reference level of the duct you selected or it's using the reference level of the current level. I'm not sure you'll have to test it out.

    Another point is revit is telling this "Can't make type "M_Transition - Welded - Generic : Standard" when I am creating an out pipe from the lavatory...Any explanation please

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try dropping the pipe down first.

    where do you download pipe families(different materials) also I'd like fabrication services. are these free downloads or do you need to pay for them?

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you need actual pipes from a specific manufacturer, you might be able to download their pipe fitting families from their website. For example, I believe charlotte has families located on their website. Check out this pdf I found after googling,
      www.charlottepipe.com/Documents/Revit_ReadMe.pdf
      For pipe material types you can create your own using know characteristics like roughness etc. Also, check out bimobject.com

    whenever I select the elbow, I cant see trap in the properties even though I have loaded it in my project.

    • @mep_guy
      @mep_guy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You need to open the P-Trap Family and change it's settings. Select your P-trap after you load it in. You can select it in the project or use the project browser and search for it. Then click "edit family". On the properties panel, change the part-type from "Multi Port" to "Elbow". Check out my P-trap video at 1:20 seconds in. I do this very fast in that video. The full length P-Trap video is on my website. Since you are asking about this, I'll make an entire video on some tips and tricks for working with P-Traps. I hope this helps!
