My guy, you're the MAN!
You're welcome!
Excellent common sense solutions delivered with no waffle and steady cam too. I'll be back for more. Thanks
Sounds Good!
How much can HVAC/Plumbing designer earn in USA ?
Starting out probably around 70k then about 90k with 5-7 years of experience and all the way up to 120-150k for a plumbing engineer with a PE.
@@mep_guy per month or year ? thank you very much for your time given us
Is downloading the families free?!
Yep all families are downloaded at zurn.com
I used 2023 version can you send 2023 links?
Unfortunately I don't have previous versions available.
this video is very interesting and give compressive information on plumbing
Hi, Thanks for this cool video. I don’t see the “Sloped Piping” Section in green which has the “Slope Up”, “Slope Down”, “Slope Value” tools.
May I add that I’m using revit 2023 and I only can use the “Slope Editor” which only shows “Slope Value” with the “Finish” chexkmark.
Is the template and families available in Metric?
Unfortunately no.
Thank you for the content. Unfortunatly i have revit 2020 version. I downloaded the files but couldnt open them.
Sorry, I did use Revit 2024. Hopefully you can get the new version and use it!
Great practice, thank you
You're welcome!
Great video bro! I would like to see more residential plumbing info!
Yes I think that video series will be out by next year.
Thank you for all these helpful videos its always clear and professional, hoping to learn more on creating smart MEP families also see some HVAC related topics.
We plan to do more HVAC videos in the near future. My team has just finished building some amazing MEP families that were going to be showcasing next year in our brand new MEP template.
A significant amount of technical knowledge has been condensed into an understandable and well-structured presentation by you. I've already covered a lot of ground with Revit, and this video recaps everything. This video is a valuable resource for anyone looking to learn more about plumbing design in Revit. 👍
Thanks so much!
sir, really appreciate you sharing these video tutorials, hoping to learn more on creating MEP families. Thanks!
You're welcome!
My company was forced to get into Revit MEP due to a major client demand. The learning curve has been brutal but MEP Guy has been one of my top go-to sources for real-world information, as well as the undocumented tips, tricks, and work-arounds so critical for making Revit do what we need it to. His videos are understandable and to-the-point. (no pointless tangents and rants). His content is useful and best of all, it actually works!
I really appreciate you taking the time to leave such a detailed comment! It's great to hear I was able to help!
Great video! Thank you for sharing and keep posting more like these please! I'll appreciate if you could send me your free first course "Plumbing 101". It'll be nice if you could cover a topic on HVAC modeling (Air Conditioning ducts, including split units, fan coil units, air handling units, etc.).
Thanks, I'll keep making more videos just like this!
Awesome video! Can you do a video on single family residential plumbing or HVAC? I need some guidance on what basic families to use and how I can schedule quantities of pipe and elbows.
Absolutely!!
Thanks
I like your videos. Can you cover what makes a good Revit MEP family? That way when we make families we can pay attention to important elements.
That's a good topic! I did talk about families a little on the BIM Pure Podcast. Make sure to check that video out as well!
I do enjoy all your plumbing tips and tricks. I would love to see some HVAC related topics!
Yes, I will definitely do some in the near future!
Sir please cover a topic on how to connect a duct riser accurately by level to level.
I can do that!
Your videos are always clear, concise & professional. I'm retired and not a plumber but learned alot from you. Unfortunately, i can't afford classes, so i'll take advantage of your free 101 course. Thanks!
Glad to help!
Electrical
Make sure to check out my partner Jon's youtube channel. It's called "The Electrical Department".
The greatestet content about Plumbing in Revit of all youtube.
Wow what a comment! Thanks! lol
thanks man if u please drawing duct in revit from autocad drawing and hot and cold water
I'll add that to the list of things to cover. Thanks for the suggestion!
i would like to see an electrical systems and view ranges.
Make sure to check out my partner Jon's youtube channel. It's called "The Electrical Department".
For the next video I would like to see how these elements can then be scheduled - can go into how to modify the schedule, including model numbers, descriptions, etc.
Yes, I'll be creating that video next!
thanks man you are amazing.
I appreciate that!
Looking Good Ryan, Thanks for sharing
Thanks Joe!
Is there a version below the latest year for architectural projects? maybe for revit 2023.
Unfortunately I don't have a model for 2023. I decided to use 2024 since that was the most recent I had at the time of recording. You can download 2024 on autodesk's website if you have a subscription.
Ryan, you really are the MEP Guy , as a plumber interested in Revit and cad design, Thank you for your contribution, I am ready to get the course.
That means a lot from a real plumber! I hope to know as much as you some day!
quality - even if im 1 year late 😂
Better late than never!
I downloaded the Revit model you linked to and it isn't named "ZURN BATHROOM.rvt" but rather "Zurn Plumbin Model.rvt". If I go ahead and link it in, it doesn't look the same as in your video. There are no walls, and everything is already piped up, cold and hot water, sanitary drains and vents, etc. I also get a message saying the "nested links will not appear because their Reference Typer is set to Overlay" and to change the Reference Type to Attachment. Doing so doesn't change anything visually. Any idea what the issue is?
Hey there! I accidentally put the plumbing model in the folder and forgot to add the Architectural Model. Try re-downloading the file and they should be both in there. When following along, you'll want to start a new project from scratch. Go to file, new, and start with either the plumbing default template or use the systems imperial template.
Sir how to adjust the outline of duct and Air Terminals?
Should be under the system's graphic overrides similar to how I changed the sanitary color towards the end of the video.
Waiting for more of your videos, please post many many!
I'll do my best!
good job
Thanks!
If you don't mind, could you please share the architectural Revit file? Thanks
Man, your tuition is incredible! Unfortunately, in Egypt, we're restricted from engaging with foreign currency credits, which limits my ability to purchase any of your amazing courses.
Well there are a lot of free videos on TH-cam so hopefully you can learn for free!
Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for!
That's great 👍. Glad I could help!
Thank you for Sharing your knowledge. You are a blessing to the Revit Plumbing world. Glad to know ya.
Thanks so much! I'm happy to do this for everyone. It's fun!
Really helpful and engaging tutorial, nice audio and video, not many people post such helpful tutorials on Revit plumbing with these amazing qualities . Thank you very much 🫡
Thanks so much Salim!

the slope of the sanitary system is not necessary?
The instance to type parameter lesson in the video, will be passed down to my children's children. Thank you!!

We use Zurn a lot here in NYC and the fact that they have a lot of Revit families available to download makes our job so much easier lol By the way, are you guys planning on releasing a template to work with Cast iron pipes ?
I didn't plan on it, but if I did add cast iron, I'd probably use Charlotte Pipe fittings. Is there a reason you need to use Cast Iron in your models? The PVC pipe type that comes with Revit works well for my needs. Are you modeling to above LOD 300? If not I'd just recommend using the PVC pipe that comes with Revit and make sure to call out Cast Iron pipe for the contractor to use in your specifications.
@@mep_guy Fair warning on Charlotte cast iron pipe fittings: they are terrible lol. I remade all of the cast iron pipe fittings I use so they worked properly. lmk if you want them.
@@andrewlorick166 That would be awesome! Can you send me an email. Ryan (at) mepguy.com
