Well you would have cause if the stories are true she was actually in real danger at one point during that escape scene and that's one of the reasons she didn't come back in the second movie cause she feared for her life
@@Thedude8450Yeah, I don't know where that story came from. She was never in danger while we were filming. Worst case scenario, she might've gotten some water up her nose. Lol
3:02 Eisenberg’s card trick in the opening scene is interesting because if you slow it down to 0.25x speed, the 7 of Diamonds can be seen for a few more frames than the other cards. It’s subconsciously implanting the same card in the audience’s head so odds are he’ll perform the same card trick on us too. I also picked the 7 of Diamonds so it blew my mind the first time watching.
Yeah, I've actually done that trick so many times before, not to the point of putting the card on the side of the building, but yeah. You basically cut off the top part of the card in front of the 7 of diamonds that way you see the 7 for more time than the other cards, it's a way to force a card on someone without them knowing. Pretty diverse trick because you can do the reveal in so many different ways, since I already knew the card I'd force on people I'd simply write a prediction beforehand and have them hide it somewhere, and then let them open it up and reveal it to everyone else, it has a big impact on the audience.
Hey guys! Editor here, hope you enjoyed the reaction! Fun fact: if it hasn't already been brought up. I swear they are more wizards then Magicians in the second one. Honestly in both. But the movies are just so good, the acting, the way they go about the magic, and telling how they did it. I'm so glad they are going through with making the 3rd one! Also, the clip of Isla Fisher is the take where she actually was stuck and drowning. Terrible way to go about it, showing her and the audience her real fear, but I guess....That's art lmao
5:23 Funny youu should say that, if I remember rightly, the filming of this stunt actually *did* go wrong, in one take, where the chains on Isla Fisher's handcuffs got stuck on the bottom of the tank, and her attempts to signal the crew were mistaken for her just playing the role, since that is what the character's meant to do, meaning she was stuck underwater fro 3 minuites before the stunt co-ordinator finally realised the issue.

I love watching these movies again after seeing them the first time. It really lets you see just how much you miss. For example, the symbol they use having 5 rectangles on it, giving away the fact that there was a 5th Horseman. The 4 main Horsemen all together with the 5th smaller rectangle off to the end signifying someone working in secret off to the side.
This has got to be one of the best original flicks I have seen in a long time. You know it's special when you an older middle aged guy who suddenly wants to get one of those magic starter sets for kids, right?
As a magician, I can personally atest that this movie is 100% accurate. Every time I do a card trick, I've got at least three women trying to take me home. It gets so tiring because I'm just a nerd who does card tricks, why can't they control themselves? Sheesh! And don't even get me started about how easy it is to make things appear out of thin air and how I'm definitely always the smartest guy in the room. It gets pretty boring being one of the biggest geniuses ever, we magicians have a really rough life. And if you believed any of that then I've got some swamp land you may be interested in. This movie was entertaining but it did a very poor job of portraying magic in a realistic manner and my biggest problem with it was how they made all the magicians such egotistical jerks and know-it-alls. That is a perception we real magicians fight against every time we perform. You treat your audience well, you don't belittle them and act all smug and crap. Anyway, loved the ending to this one but I certainly wouldn't look at it as any kind of magician documentary. We're not that cool.
This movie wasn't about every day respectable normal magicians. It was about exceptionaly talented individuals (prodigies within that line of work you could say) with flawed personalities because very often highly talented people are also isolated people and feeling isolated from people doesnt usualy bring out the best in you. Also in the end they where not that egotistical considering they pulled a few robin hood actions and helped some people. Also if your a hot looking guy who appears charming and smart, you can probably score some girls to come to a hotel or room with you. I doubt the fact he was a magician was the reason. It was that he was young, good looking and appeared smart because of his tricks, but he could achieved the same thing reading poetry or acting a mysterious flirt. It is totaly believable a girl went with him to his hotel room after the trick. Also most magicians dont include flats or buildings for their card tricks. This shows the dude either has money, or influence. Both of which can also be atractive to women. I get your frustrations, but your not looking at the actual context of the situation. The girl going with the guy wasn't about the magic tricks alone. And the movie isn't about magicians doing every day magician things. It's a heist/revange story with thieves and con artists who also happen to magicians/illusionists. And very talented ones at that. Your critism is like watching a movie about a prodigy anyone (in music, in art, in sports) who doesnt have the most sparkling personality and be like ''normal people who do these things for a living dont act like this''. Yeah but thats the thing isn't it? ''Normal'' people. Movies, shows, stories, are rarely about ''normal'' people. It's usualy about the especialy talented/unusual types. The ones that have more room for character growth. Flawed personalities.
Now You See Me has the same issue as Bullet Train. AMAZING story, AMAZING visuals, AMAZING pacing, but just because it's not a fucking dramatic excelently-written piece critics just completely downplay it. Both are entertainment movies meant to be engaging, catchy and surprising, but critics only want deep shit all the time.
Amazing reaction, this movie deserves much more attention ❤️ The cast is cool, and Woody Harreldon is a charismatic actor, he also has a very cool role in The Hunger Games trilogy, where Jennifer Lawrence (The Mystic from X-Men) also plays, as well as an incredible series, True Detective, a series where Matthew McConaughey also plays with Woody. This series definitely needs to be seen!
fun fact about henleys first appearance she actually did get trapped in the tank when filming obviously the piranahs were cgi but she did actually get trapped and they kept it because it worked so well
I loved this movie! And I NEVER pay attention to Rotten Tomatoes and reviewers. The cast drew me to the movie and I was not disappointed. I even like the sequel but not as well as this one. Thank you for the first reaction I've seen of this gem.
I loved this movie in the theatre and the many times I’ve watched it since. It’s funny, exciting and well written. The actors are all excellent, nothing but a brilliant thrill ride. I loved it was Mark Ruffalo at the end and Jesse’s character realizes he was never the smartest person in the room.
Yeah the movie is awesome. IDK why it doesn't have great reviews. I can see the second movie not be AS high, but even it was good, but this one is really great.
4:48 That scene was not acting. Isla Fischer actually got those chains stuck in the tank and she was actually drowning. It was only thanks to an observant stuntman that she didn’t die or get seriously injured
This was one of the first dates I went on with my now-husband, to see this in theaters. I really enjoyed the movie because it had just enough information shown to almost guess the plot and good twists that made me excited to know more.
This is one of the most entertaining movies I had seen in a very long time. It was just so much fun to watch that I've watched it over a few dozen times and I never get tired of it. The second one is pretty good too. But yeah, don't get the score it got in Rotten Tomatoes. I thought movies are supposed to be entertaining....8-) Great reaction, Alex. And yeah, even I was amazed when you guessed it. Very well done, sir!!!!
My college hosted a hypnotist and I was one of the group that ended up on stage. That shit is not fake. I gotta say, dude, I subscribe to several other movie reaction channels but you're by far the most entertaining to watch. You have great reactions . . . and I think your George McFly laugh is funny as hell! Keep up the great work! (are you really a lawyer??)

I love this movie so much, one of my top comfort movies 😍 The second one is also incredible, and a lot of the card tricks is real bc the actor of Jack Wilder actually learned card handling tricks
This is yet another example of why I NEVER trust Rotten Tomatoes and other critics. Now You See Me is a GREAT film. Great characters, great plot, great twists, great cast ... a great original movie. The sequel is just as good.
Hey Alex, give The Prestige a watch. You will absolutely love it if you are looking for good suspense and mystery, it has Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine too.
Here's a fun fact,The scene with the piranha tank? Real. The actress actually got stuck in the tank and the guy that first ran up to help her was one of the crew who realized something was wrong. She literally almost died for that scene!
Gotta love when you ask a question, and then they immediately answer in the film. "Who the fuck is she?" "I'm Alma Grey." Also digging the fact that "Alfred" and "Luscious Fox" are in this.
During the scene in the beginning when the girl trapped her self in the glass tank of water. She did actually get stuck and (almost really drowned behind the scenes when the movie was getting made).
This movie is so good!!!! It was so funny when you guessed the plot twist correctly, props to you! Also now I want to watch the second one (I watched this one recently) and you should too!! That one has an INSANE card trick that if I remember correctly is not cgi but they did do it themselves (I think they used like nylon and stuff, but still, practical effects are dope)
This movie and its sequel are so insanely fun! Like, it's a heist movie with magicians, I'm not expecting highbrow art here but it sure did deliver exactly what I wanted from a heist movie with magicians
"Have you ever been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras?" Yeah, I live in the Garden District in New Orleans. Mardi Gras has become my least favorite time of the year. 😂
Fun fact, the girl that is in the tank of water almost actually drowned because her chains got stuck. And they thought it was acting, but somebody realized that she was actually stuck in. Got her out before she actually died

0:48... I thought you would say that you would watch the Star Wars Holiday special (1978). Oh, wouldn't that be a treat.
I'm so sorry you had to go through this experience. I believe there are support groups to help you recover.
Amazing reaction, this movie deserves much more attention ❤️
The cast is cool, and Woody Harreldon is a charismatic actor, he also has a very cool role in The Hunger Games trilogy, where Jennifer Lawrence (The Mystic from X-Men) also plays, as well as an incredible series, True Detective, a series where Matthew McConaughey also plays with Woody. This series definitely needs to be seen!
(In Darth Maul voice) "I was hoping for Star Wars, why are you here?"
18:55
-"Stop!"
-"Au revoir, Shoshanna!"
-"Dammit! Why is it always that line!?"
Can’t wait for more of the boys!
fun fact about henleys first appearance she actually did get trapped in the tank when filming obviously the piranahs were cgi but she did actually get trapped and they kept it because it worked so well
I loved this movie!
The french woman, is the actress who played Shoshanna, in Inglorious Basterds.
Dude, I am so happy that you finally watched this. It's one of my favorite movies!! It has one of the best plot twists ever.
4:48
That scene was not acting. Isla Fischer actually got those chains stuck in the tank and she was actually drowning. It was only thanks to an observant stuntman that she didn’t die or get seriously injured
14:36 that's probably one of the best description of Morgan's voice ever dude.
I thought movies are supposed to be entertaining....8-)
Great reaction, Alex. And yeah, even I was amazed when you guessed it. Very well done, sir!!!!
this is one of my all time favorite movies, it’s clever and witty and the plot twists got me every time. crazy u got the ending!!
Can't wait to see you watch part 2! Do it immediately plz!
Fun fact He had to learn to actually throw cards for the role. The mimicry bit is still one of my favorite parts
Now somebody get him to watch the movie (Upgrade).
Fr 2 is
Good
16:27 i’ve been hypnotized by a mentalist. I was asked to play along when I arrived. I didn’t and ruined the show.
Hold up, while this is a good movie, I thought Star Wars was every other week? I was expecting Phantom Menace today!!!!
there's a quote from black sails that fits this movie perfectly well: "to be underestimated is an incredibly gift"
I clicked immediately, can't wait!
25:41 I taught myself how to throw cards because of these movies 😂
Damn ive been waiting for this finally its Here 💯🔥
My college hosted a hypnotist and I was one of the group that ended up on stage.
That shit is not fake. I ugly bawled my eyes out in front of 600+ of my peers cuz he “put us on a roller coaster”, which I’m terrified of.
It’s a weird feeling, like the back of your brain is fully aware and knows it’s ridiculous, but the front controlling part of your brain is fully in it.
After watching a few other movie reaction channels, I gotta say your editing is unmatched. Please never change it
The leading lady in this movie is married to sascha baron cohen in real life (Borat) and they are adorable together
I gotta say, dude, I subscribe to several other movie reaction channels but you're by far the most entertaining to watch. You have great reactions . . . and I think your George McFly laugh is funny as hell! Keep up the great work! (are you really a lawyer??)
This movie was the shit growing up and every time i watched it again i understood more tricks as i grew up
I have been hypnotized when I was a teenager. It’s not really controlling your mind, it’s more removing your inhibitions.
I'm waiting for more Star Wars. I hope you react to every episode :D
👏 This was the 1st time I've seen someone guess who the 5th Horseman was ahead of time! When I 1st watched it, I had him as a suspect, but also suspected 2 others.
I actually think this deserves a better rating than they say. Now to me part 2 is even better. 😍
Please do "now you see me 2" too😍
I love this movie so much, one of my top comfort movies 😍
The second one is also incredible, and a lot of the card tricks is real bc the actor of Jack Wilder actually learned card handling tricks
This is yet another example of why I NEVER trust Rotten Tomatoes and other critics. Now You See Me is a GREAT film. Great characters, great plot, great twists, great cast ... a great original movie. The sequel is just as good.
This movie is genuinely one of my favorites of all time.
32:10 That is why I don't go by RT.
Hey Alex, give The Prestige a watch. You will absolutely love it if you are looking for good suspense and mystery, it has Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine too.
Bro Please Watch " LORD OF THE RINGS" you are missing out most incredible and Marvelous movie 🔥🎗️
Here's a fun fact,The scene with the piranha tank? Real. The actress actually got stuck in the tank and the guy that first ran up to help her was one of the crew who realized something was wrong. She literally almost died for that scene!
Gotta love when you ask a question, and then they immediately answer in the film.
"Who the fuck is she?"
"I'm Alma Grey."
Also digging the fact that "Alfred" and "Luscious Fox" are in this.
During the scene in the beginning when the girl trapped her self in the glass tank of water. She did actually get stuck and (almost really drowned behind the scenes when the movie was getting made).
"Slippery as a duck" ??? 🦆
That-- is a statement I could use some clarification on 🤣😂
0:59 Now there's a white bread sandwich I'd like to be the Meat in! (spoken in Alex's exaggerated "Hill People" voice).
This is one of those movies you have to watch just to have some fun, and it delivers exactly that. The second one is pretty cool too
"Have you ever been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras?" Yeah, I live in the Garden District in New Orleans. Mardi Gras has become my least favorite time of the year. 😂
Fun fact, the girl that is in the tank of water almost actually drowned because her chains got stuck. And they thought it was acting, but somebody realized that she was actually stuck in. Got her out before she actually died
Interesting story about Isla fisher in the piranha tank, she almost actually drown filming that scene. She got the ankle shackles caught on something at the bottom
A friend of mine who used to live in New Orleans said every weekend on Bourbon Street is like Mardi Gras but with less cops.
Not sure if that still holds true, but that's what she told me.
the 7 of diamonds trick at the start of the movie still blows my mind. every single time i watch that clip the 7 is the most obvious card
