  • The Land Cruiser was in a wreck before I bought it, and now is the time remove that stock bumper and repair the bent metal body parts. We are getting closer to building our own custom bumper with a winch mount.

Revisiting this vid before I pull off my front bumper and recondition every bit of frame surface I can reach. Amazing how much you've done since this shoot. Bravo brother. Bravo.

Nice guitar solo, when you notice how cool it looks with the bumper off.😂 I debated putting the old bumper back on after I pounded it out and painted. Thanks for posting.

Looks good. Anytime you are pulling on metal like that and trying to straighten it, give it a couple light wacks with a hammer while under load so it takes the stress out of the metal and it will keep it's shape better and not want to snap back.

how did you extract those broken off bumper mount bolts?

I honestly don't remember what I did in this situation. I've tackled broken bolts a few different ways: penetrating oil to loosen it up, grab what's left of the shaft with pliers, drill out the shaft and use an extractor, or even drill it out and re-tap the hole.
