I highly recommend that anyone who owns an 80 Series replace ALL these rubber hoses as soon as possible. My 80 has been laid up for several years now for various reason, but what sidelined it was one of the bypass hoses under the throttle body. I did the PHH that was well discussed on Ih8mud, but the bypass hosses weren't really talked about at that time. Due to health issues, I've just started doing this job. Everything takes a lot longer than it should due to the hoses being so hard from heat and age. Every coolant hose, transmission hose, power steering hose and vacuum hose should be replaced.
Great video, I have done all these and did all while doing a head gasket, so I was able to remove the rear heater pipes from the front, and actually replaced them with a solid set. had the delete mode before I did that and went back to rear heater again to have it as stock as possible. Great trucks and easy to maintain if you do it yourself. If you have to pay a shop to do anything, it will get expensive real fast.
Thanks! Yes they are great trucks! Not so worried about the stock factor on this one as its previous life was an off-road driving school truck and its body shows haha.
I live in Colombia and have a 96' FZJ73 4.5L. It's almost the same as the 80s. I'm not a great mechanic so I really enjoyed this video. Learned some things. Thanks
I love having my rear heater. I just make sure I Fluid Film my undercarriage every year so I don't have to deal with corrosion. Good thing you replaced that radiator...man that thing was about to blow!! To finish the job don't forget to put some weather strip between the top of the radiator and the core support to make sure all the air is getting pulled through the radiator from the front. Nice work!!
The 1fzfe doesn't use Cogged belts BTW. Lots of issues with noise etc just a heads up OEM belts are not cogged for anyone who's looking to replace belts.
Witt’s end is ran by one person and has had an explosion of business. Idk if everyone’s intentions was to bad mouth a small business but the reality of it is it’s one guy just trying to help 1000s ppl find parts.
Sadly, I think Witts End is done for and out of business. Very sad, I have bought parts from Joey and his website was great and easy to use. He always provided OEM part numbers which was very helpful. Hopefully someone will pick up the pieces and possibly continue on.
Joey owes a LOT of people a LOT of money. To anyone reading this, please do not order anything costly from him. Be smarter than I am (I was warned, I ordered, and I'm out $400 dollars now)
stay off witt's end. Dude is a huge scammer. stole 3k from me. I still don't have the parts 5 months later. Ended up just going to a local Toyota dealer.
I put a disclaimer in the description of this video about them. I’m glad I got all my stuff although it did take awhile. At the time when I ordered this stuff he was still communicating with people.
I’m sorry about your experience but I’ve been buying from him for years now. He got hacked at some point and I got a couple things 2x’s and charged 2 times. He’d let us know about the hacking and put the credit on my acct. I sent the two things back to him on my dime. I just got another big order from him the other day and a couple things are back ordered. I’m 0% worried btw.

Awesome video...I love taking old vehicles and working on them so they continue to be 100% operational and reliable!
It’s very satisfying! Especially on something as cool as an 80!
@@Adv4x4 I own 80 serious myself, but heard the prices for parts are quite expensive. Is it true

Yeah mine was too far gone unfortunately! Thanks! I’ll look into getting some weather strip!

Thanks yes I learned this the hard way have OEM belts now haha
Nice one. You are very skilled and talented at automotive work. Always interesting and motivating. Thanks.
Thanks Mike!
Great work. FYI that Toyota doesn't use Phillips head faseners, they use JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). Using a phillips strips the JIS head.
Excellent video, very helpful and thank you for posting.
Good job bro , I didn't pretty much all this plus a new ACDelco 215-153 charcoal canister.
Appreciate it man! It’s nice to take care of some things so I don’t have to worry about them later.
Do you have a parts list?
Hi where do you gets your parts from? Thanks
Where did you order the radiator from?
Question - I'm planning on keeping my rear heater. Any Idea what diameter the hoses you cut at the heater? Are they just straight hoses? TIA.
@4:30 wits end, no , out of business!!!!!!!!!! For a reason!
I notice you used allen head screws for the oil pump cover. Do you have a part number for those, or a link?
They came with a kit I got from Wits End. Although I can’t recommend ordering from them after hearing other people’s feed back recently!
Is this a Toyota 4.5L engine?
How's the CSF rad holding up? did you go with IAT green coolant?
It’s holding up great! Just using regular universal coolant
@@Adv4x4 Love to hear it, I'm about to do the same to mine. Thanks for the reply!
How much do you charge to this same on my 80?
That small section of hose underneath was leaking for me. Anyone know a part #?
I do not have the part # but I just cut a piece from that bulk hose I used!

JIS screws, not philips.
Yes you are correct. Most wouldn’t know the difference!

Same here had to file a case with my bank to get my money back. MF would never reply emails but post shit on Instagram
The more stories I hear the more surprised I am I actually received my stuff haha.

If you’re in Australia and looking for stock parts, check online auto parts. They’re good quality with incredible pricing
