This is what I'm here for, I wish the dagger talisman gave new animations for crits on npc's and players like the hornet ring did, A part of me died when I found out.
Considering the amount of reused animations are already in the game I’m surprised they didn’t bother
Elden Ring is so godlike that we only get to nitpick certain things like critical animations. To me that's a win lol.

Chase uses hosts as test subjects and I find the notion hilarious
People are desperately fighting for their lives, meanwhile chase is calmly comparing backstab damage of misericorde and rapier with/without dagger talisman, like he's dealing with a test subject.
Man, I’m trying my best to get better at menu swapping but it’s so hard. It’s just not natural for my hands. And then I watch Chase strafe wizard pews while talking and changing talismans. I have a long way to go 😂
A good tip is to intentionally organize your inventory, and remember to press "start" to exit the menu without having to back out of all of them.

Here’s a few tips to get better at menu swapping, firstly as mentioned above Organise your weapon load out and learn to navigate with L2 R2, then learn claw grip with your left hand index finger on the dpad (ps5 controllers have a significant advantage due to stick layout)
You can parry all sword sorceries such as carian slicer, both greatswords and peircer. Just thought I should mention that.
The Rapier needs to have ~25% more AR than the Misericorde to deal around the same amount of damage on a Backstab, for example:
400 Physical AR Misericorde * 4.116 Backstab Motion Value = 1646.4 total damage.
500 Physical AR Rapier * 3.289 Backstab Motion Value = 1644.5 total damage.
Side note, the Executioner's Greataxe is really good for Crits now.
The dragon slayers axe was always the highest damaging one
@@Hypostasy I meant in comparison to the Misericorde. The increase in critical damage across all weapon types wasn't a regular increase for everything, certain weapon types got bigger boosts than others. Misiricorde does ~5% more damage than it did before the update, whereas the Executioner's Greataxe does ~10% more than before.

The plain ole rapier is seriously slept on. I play a character with only 12 str and 12 dex, it's one of the few weapons I can use but the utility of it means I'm never left wanting.
5:19 I think the increased crit damage on the rapier was because u were in water. Theres pittle puddles throughout that area

Anyone else think that Chase would make a great fighting game player? He's very smart and patient and obviously he has a super deep understanding of Souls combat so that gives him the tools he needs to be successful but I feel as if he he put time into any fighting game he'd end up being very entertaining to watch.

Everyone is talking about Chase testing damage but no one is talking about the fact that he abandoned a half-dead host to eliminate the golden summon and then wait for the full hp host for a fair fight
I forget who I saw display this recently, but apparently the executioners greataxe can do better critical damage outright than misereicorde except for super high level invasions, which you dont do.
God damn some of those dodges into a backstab were stellar. Good stuff 👏

Lightning misericorde is the new chaos dagger. I'm a bit sad the enhanced crits don't get a different animation like in ds3.
Still, it's so good to see the chain backstabs are back, it's bum hunting season again!
I recommend having parry on a off hand rapiir for duels yes if you see a really good set ya maybe try something more conventienal. Back to what i was saying try parry with an offhand rapier with whatever weapon thats bigger and gk for the parry when ever you predict a rolling or running attack if its a safe parry ofcourse. (Ignoring non are truly safe) hell even try a caestus someone please tell me how that goes thank you all who try this !
Ah, the lightning rapier reminds me of my build from DS2. Lightning Espada Ropera and Leo Ring for those spicy 900 damage counter pokes lol.

Grab every item you plan to use on all of your invasions. Back up save, then go ahead and respec for a build. Replace save with backed up save whenever you want to try a new build.

I'm curious - several of your backstabs came directly after their attack/skill which was evaded by a dodge roll. How do the inputs on your end look like? Are you mashing r1 during the dodge roll to make them stick?
mashing r1 during roll would queue a rolling attack. he times the r1 press for the end of the roll and he's standing, also flicking the stick down to face backwards or whichever direction needed at the end or during the roll
