As a summon I die every time I see someone get hit by Fire Giant and eyeballing their health they have 1000-1500. For reference my character is 175 which means my host range is like 150-200 which on the one hand I don't mind helping casuals but god damn are people terrible sometimes
Fr, base reqs give more than enough damage before weapon level 15+ when attribute scaling actually matters. my current vagabond has 45 vigor 30 endurance and base requirements for the claymore and i havent even beat renala yet. If I need more str I just pop the physic.
The only thing I can't do is swap to the 1.2 weight talismans when I use the Great Club as my max weight is 66.6 and that puts me at 66.7. Quite literally everything else is viable: casting is fine as I hit the 30/45 softcap for DCS(318 scaling which for reference 80 Faith with Erdtree seal is 353 so ~10% less spell AR but much better weapon variety), 27/40 hits a good Quality breakpoint for physical weapons and has large weapon variety along with 45 Arc being pretty decent for bleed options, even Ancient Dragonbolt Pots hit nearly 600 AR and Lightning Pots are 450 and I have 10 and 14 respectively. I wouldn't say it's a "master of all" but it does a ton of things really well. 60/23/27/27/40/10/30/37 on Wretch, Prophet technically saves 3 levels so you could put that in weight if you want but I wasn't sure what exactly I was going to do at the time so I did Wretch. In hindsight I should've just picked Prophet anyways since I always end up doing Faith casting in this game but what can you do lol

@@NamePending878 I sort of expect it. More likely than not the host is a newb. It would be silly to expect them to have the skill to win against an experienced invader. Sometimes I also just sever. Only if the phantoms were obviously the same level, and skill as the host. I'll sever, and leave the host. That's just me though. I know that isn't the norm with people who invade. I'm not in it to win. I just want good fights.

An upload every time I open the app, and for a game that most content creators consider to be dead in terms of content, but you manage to create these videos that are 20+ minutes long. It’s remarkable. A new weapon, build, incantation, sorcery, build, what can’t you do? And with little editing, it’s almost like you do it without even trying. You’re the LeBron of souls game content creators. You’ve known less defeat than Malenia in pvp, your dodges and roll catches are flawless. You’re truly a gift sent from the lord.

1 of my ER troll builds is named "Brave Sir Robin" lol. Haven't used him in a while but I would use Taunters Tongue to bring in invaders. I'd wait in an open area & when they'd come I'd bow setting up what looked like an honorable duel. Then as soon as they attack I'd start booking it with roped fetid pots, Bewitching Branches & Mimic Veil ready to go lol.

Seeing Chase blenderise gankers, cowards and the helpless hosts, all the while casually chatting is equal parts impressive and terrifying.
My first playthrough was a strength + greatshield + bloodstained dagger build focusing on counter attacks. The dagger scales decently well with str and honestly the build trivialized most of the bosses.
Daggers were always my favorite

I commented this before, but since you mentioned it, multi hit buffs seem to be so bugged. It greatly increases your ar for about a second every time the buff decays to a lower tier.
It's absurd damage for 3 brief windows after you make it to tier 3 of the buff. Havent tested it in a couple months, so im unsure if theyve made adjustments, but i remember it giving me an over double ar buff for a single moment after it lowers to tier 2.

@@TheSlayerr99 I haven't tested in maybe 8 months. Haven't seen any patch updating them so I assume it's the same. Just use both talismans and the physik, land about 9 hits and then watch the status screen and the AR goes wild.
I think the highest I noticed was a 120% damage increase on the godskin peeler, when the max should only be about 50%.
So if you happen to land a hit during that window this may be the strongest melee damage increase you can achieve.
This dagger build is my most feared setup, seeing Chase use it was terrifying, but good vid as always Chase! Love the content.
The idea of slapping blood and poison onto weapons for big buffs is what I use on my dual whips build.
You’d be amazed at how much damage my Thorn Whips deal when I’m buffed up, and very few people understand the whip movesets since almost no one actually uses them.
You'd be amazed about how many people DO use whips. Not the Thorn Whip, though, it's not as good but looks the coolest.

yay dual daggers is one of my fav, you should try a keen version or one of the special R2 daggers. Gives a lot of mixups other than just trade destroying people but like crouch l1 to l1 to r1 is very quick or trade the r1 with a r2 it'll rollcatch if it one of the daggers that covers some distance :3 Also quickstep and stamina regen is nice for high pressure. (flame grant me strenght shreads with this)

dual dagger + endure can out trade almost everything, its no joke!
When I was using pure Faith a while back Erdsteels get like 550 AR on 80 Faith, plus they're so fast you can usually attack into bigger weapons and then roll their attempt at a trade. It's pretty absurd

Chase, great video. Who would think daggers would be that insanely deadly? I have probably seen every one of your showcase weapon vids and nothing vaporized opponents that fast. Speaking of which, when will you be doing a best/least good weapon, in your opinion kind of thing? And, you and Lost HAVE to do a coop campaign! It would be hilarious, why not do that one session a week. I'd certainly tune in for that. Anyway, great content, thanks.

Power stanced daggers, claws, and fists are some the craziest weapons in both pve and PvP.

The multihit buff dmg numbers are simply bugged visually. The higher number you see is what you deal when at max stacks but it just doesn’t show you the number consistently.
This makes me happy. Through out my playthrough on Elden Rings, I felt my character should be considered a Thief / Bandit based off the playstyle I went with. When I see Thief's, I generally see them picking daggers/knifes or clawed weapons as their weapons of choice. Striking fast and hard. I never really found any daggers prior that would meet the demand that I wanted. Hell, I ended up using 2x Bandit's Curved Swords as my main weapons. I use Raptor's Talons now as well, so I can at least feel like a back stabbing thief at least.
I'll have to give these a shot too I guess.
Long time watcher, Its amazing to me how competitive people like chase are. I always assumed that he was just having the most fun which involved using all the mechanics of the game were, to absolutely dominate the 3v1 or a 2v1. But I took for granted just how much more competitive he was compared to someone like me (who also enjoys winning), because if I were to try out a new weapon, Id just go in blind and try to struggle through invasions or arena pvp, trying to figure out the weapon, and whatever happens happens, Not chase. He wants to win and he has the most fun doing it too. Its amazing and entertaining to watch too.
I have a variation of this. Rather than using arcane occult, go with double chilling mist cold affinity and int/dex. Pair it with Fire's Deadly sin.
Chilling mist stacks with innate frost. Giving you 165 frostbite per dagger. Fire's deadly sin cleanses the debuff instantly.

Quitting out is such an odd thought process. Those same people prolly are the type to chuck a board game across the room when losing. Parents never humbled them and prolly let them cheat. The loss is worse and more satisfying to the person wrecking your face. like is that a win? Quitting before you get wrecked.

When lacking faith, golden vow exists also as an ash of war and it can be put on daggers. It's not as good as the spell, but it is an extra buff and the defense is nice when you need to endure trade.
This doesn't need golden vow

any pair of daggers will do insane damage tbh it is the endure that let him actually trade. The weakness is that the daggers almost never stun so they can roll out of it. Get them to commit to a trade and that's how you get the damage off
Dual daggers with this build has always been strong it's just everyone wanna use bigger weapons and stuff you don't have to be as close range with

I think it's because the daggers don't stun you very easily - if you're not paying attention to your health bar, you'll just stand there dumbly thinking you're fine. and players are used to not having to watch the health bar closely, because normally when you take a lot of damage, the game yanks control away from you. damage is usually super noticeable, your screen shakes, your controller vibrates, you stop moving, it's all extremely noticeable, because the reason you're taking so much damage is because you're getting hit by a giant weapon or crushed by a giant's foot or hit by a miniature sun or whatever. but it's not damage that causes all that stuff, the damage just _usually_ goes hand in hand with it. theoretically you could take 2000 damage without your controller vibrating or your animation stopping or any screen shake, if From Soft forgot to program all that stuff. and when you get hit by the daggers, as long as you have the bare minimum poise, you usually don't get stunned until the bleed pops, and by then it's too late lol. so people just stand there like chumps, eating daggers to the face, thinking they can out-trade it, assuming they can just keep swinging until their character stops moving, at which point they can mash the roll button to get away and heal. that's sort of the gameplay formula, isn't it? and daggers sort of disrupt that I guess. so does poison, to a lesser extent. I've found a lot of players don't even realize when they get poisoned, even after it's drained like a thousand HP. I'm not entirely sure why, since the game does show a pretty big notification in the center of your screen. but relatively often people just keep swinging at me rather than healing.
This was one of my favorites for a while ^^ more dagger content at some point please :D
This build is always fun. It gets underestimated every time.
So using this build as a starting point would be perfect for some asymmetric weapon experimentation.
Cross-Naginata with Curved Greatsword
Katana with Colossal
Dagger and Greatspear
Fist + Warped Axe
Are options that I find particularly useful.
But Naginata offCGS is my absolute favourite as the moveset really flows making it both flashy and effective.
I’d love to see some off these and perhaps others that work for you in your expert hands.

Bro you should try a build with Invisible spells , You are already so good with invasions but seeing people confused would be really fun
Daggers are more than what they seem to be. Status is nice to have, naturally, but you really have to mix the lights and heavies depending on what youre doing. The l1s have weak combo potential on their own but if you start off with a r1 you can be certain that the l1s will very likely true combo off the first hit. Dagger first r1 does 61? Poise damage, and the l1 each does 32? Poise damage. The only armour that has 100 poise is the bullgoat. The majority of players will probably have around 81 near meta level, so this is more than acceptable considering how fast daggers are. And if your opponent has bullgoat, switch to using the R2 or two hand the daggers so you can build up poise damage.
Lets also not forget about parrying and backstabbing, as much as theyve been largely neglected due to the relatively higher skill floor.

After watching a few videos on how damage scaling works, HP has become my biggest priority early on. Personally like to sit at 40 vigor
Double erdtree daggers on a faith build with sacred blade and the multihit buffs do BONKERS damage. Easily gets over 1600ar with dual daggers, and you dont rely on status.
You gotta try a single erdtree dagger faith infused with holy blade and a buff like golden epitaph or the slower golden vow. With 70 faith you have a 700+ ar dagger with really, really good heavy attacks when 2 handed. And those heavy attacks proc the millicents and winged crest super fast.
Ive opened the stats screen after killing someone with a flurry of attacks and seen the ar at 1200 its insane.
Iv done a full dagger playthrough invaders highly under estimate how quickly you can melt them

reminds me of the early days of ds3 with quality/luck build, so many did not respect the two handed bleed dagger
6:00 yeah that thing has probably the longest range available I use it on large bosses for that very reason (Black Blade incant)
This was a really awesome build chase I might have to try this out.
I had an idea of running just a single dagger and either run it by itself or pair it with a buckler. It would either be the regular dagger you start with or the dagger that looks like an Italian stiletto.

Erdsteel Daggers can make use of three damage types (phys, holy and whatever you add). Make them Flame Art and they deal some great damage.
Using 3 damage types means having to pass 3 seperate defence checks, nah
Erdsteel is amazing sacred infused. Think that's it's best dmg stacked with consecutive hits golden vow and mushroom crown

Dual daggers are amazing.Especially those bleed daggers.With the right procs & Endure, Multipliers & talismans there pure shredders. love Dual reduvias,Black knifes,To bad the Wakizashi doesn’t dual wield the same way.
Themed ideas: Dual spiked fists, bragarts roar, roar medallion, rotten wing, golden vow, flame give strength. Faith setup with two handed Envoys Long Horn, Pest Threads, Erdsteel with Stormblade, wearing only pants and mittens.

The flailing of the arms reminds me of a ninja blender.
These are always entertaining and also why I will never turn on online play in Elden Ring. Even though I don't play coop through the main game so there's no real way to get invaded, the 1/1trillion bug that no one has discovered yet might happen to me so might as well avoid it now.
Dear Chase, the Dragon hates you because you allways steal his pray and leave right away and he has had enough of it.
My most recent build was a dex + arcane build and I was very surprised at how fast you can get bleed. I literally killed margot in 20 seconds. Maliketh was a pain in the ass though, I ended up using margot's cursed sword for that. Also in PvP, people don't expect the super high bleed build up, I have deleted people very easily.
Finally, the dagger video arrived.
You can tell which player is the host by the color of their ashes when they die. The host ashes are grey while the phantom ashes are yellow.
This might actually be the highest dps ever.... :O
Not sure if you've done it before or how possible, but would be cool to see what you put together for some unorthodox/oxymoron builds. like ones you wouldn't expect to work. e.g unarmored tank
