Ever since that one patch, Quickstep backstabs have been so clean and satisfying to witness. We've come a long way from the DS1 Lagstab days. Edit: Also, I know this is your muscle memory Chase and it's hard to change, but it's hilarious that you switch back from Crimson Seed to Shard of Alex... when your ash of choice is Quickstep. Repeatedly. Gotta increase that Quickstep damage, eh?
I was thinking it would be useful for the follow up ashes of war after the backstab, like the beastclaw greathammer, but alot of them just died from the backstab haha
I've noticed at 5:25 the guy with double weapons does fire damage, that chest piece you swap to heal reduces your fire protection so you took more damage from him
not really related to the video, but somehow i can always rely on youtube to consistently put chase on the very first video of the feed everyday, and i love it
I started watching your videos again chase after a year and I can most definitely say that this is a whole new level of skill you have aquired. You make it look so normal and effortless, despite being so difficult in reality.
Video is so amazing and the narration during it is the best! Don’t forget the executioners greataxe if you like the moveset, big crit damage. Farmed it yesterday and learned how to parry for pve has been a blast seeing big crits! Imagine what kind of stuff your going to pull with the DLC weapons and ashes omg 😳
Wizards mentioned at least 22 times: 00:55 Well I do see a Wizard, hello Wizard 01:02 Oh my god thats a Wizard and a half 01:15 Wizards! 01:18 One the Wizard 01:30 Hey Wizard 08:03 Hi Wizard 08:11 Two Wizards 08:27 I'm gonna need your Wizard 08:53 Hey Wizard 08:58 As if the Wizard alive 09:07 Okay, Wizard down 09:13 Is hard to backstab Wizards 09:24 Hey Wizard, back off, Wizard, you have 2 hp, Wizard 09:49 Come back here Wizard 09:54 Thats your entire plan, huh? Wizard 10:03 I wanna bring you away from the Wizard, so the Wizard 10:30 Hey Wizard 10:37 That Wizard Since I started counting there were 2408.7 mentionings of Wizards across 194 videos. Bonus: 11:53
Amazing how quick you manage to straffe round them and get a backstab. Also, have you done any invasions using only the jar cannon? I would love to see that.
Recently did a randomizer run of Elden Ring, came across the Winged Crystal Tear, which grants you Light equip load on use. Never seen anyone use it, so it made me wonder what other underutilized items and weapons might be interesting to see. Maybe a short bow build with lots of poise to trade shots?
Love these videos chasethebro. Learned to enjoy PvP thanks to you. Is there any chance you could make a video or, just explain how you use your controller to swiftly scroll through your menus when changing weapons/talismans etc? Still finding that part really difficult. Thanks for your content.
If you want good wake ups you could try some other spells too The Flame of Frenzy is a great wake up after backstabs. Finding an good use for the beast spells was cool asf. Very underutilized spells.
Chase you should do a throwing pot build! The jar helmet and talisman buffs them by 15% and 20 % respectively, 38% together. The build can be very open depending on which pot you want to concentrate on too. I would guess a faith build fire pot would most successful, including the oil pot. No doubt it isn't a good build but I know you can do some fun things with it.
Man the claymore is just an amazing weapon. The neutral R1 roll catch is just a great way to determine if someone actually knows how to fight lol or if they got through the game with L2's😂 the beast incants are so fun to use even if the DMG isn't great. It's how a strength build should feel.
Backstabs! Maybe the death’s poker carpet would be a good wake up? Into the fire if they roll, stay in the explosion if they mash out. Catch ya next time!
I might be in the minority but id love some type of weekly return to DS3 special. Maybe thats not realistically possible but the pvp is still going strong and im ultra nostalgic for your ds3 parries and backstabs. Love your work, Chase.
If you're mostly going for crits try the Lordsworn Greatsword! It's the only GS with a 110 crit modifier! Yeah it lacks the claymore's poke and the Knight GS's moveset, but think of the sweet sweet backstab damage!
I think the main thing is that especially casually Vigor doesn't feel like all that much of an increase: most classes start at around 10/11 which translates to 414/434 respectively, to double that you need 26/27, it takes 31 to break 1000 and the softcap at 40 gives you 1450. Granted I feel like the easiest thing to do is grab a bleed option and kill Greyroll ASAP and just dump to 37 and soreseal til around Lyendell Capital but from a practical standpoint most people aren't going to know this because casuals simply put don't look at the numbers. The roughly 350% health increase at 40 is actually even better as your flat defenses increase significantly as well and the 15% lower absorption isn't enough of a factor until around Leyendell, but again people just aren't going to know this unless they're nerds or do several playthroughs. But anyway
Hey Chase, love your videos man. I’m genuinely curious; when’s the last time you died in an invasion? I’ve never seen you go down before, so (if you ever do die) do you just cut those takes out?
I haven't even tried doing invasions like I did in DKS3. I even remember I invaded with you and made you kinda proud. I just HATE how Elden Ring players seem to either try to gank 24/7 with multiple magic casters and melee at once, or that they are only summoning for a boss. I miss DKS3....
You should release another backstab video, with backstab in the title and thumbnail. The video will have ZERO backstabs, making the video itself the backstab.
Hey @chasethebro you mentioned a perfect block around the 7:25 mark and I’m wondering what that is? You tap left bumper right before an attack and it nullifies damage/stamina loss?
Faith builds have so many NASTY backstab follow-ups, the close-range hit of Placidusax's Ruin is one that's really underrated. Puts teammates on their ass, plus Barrier of Gold helps smite distant wizards daring to trade with the laser.
Feels very weird to see a backstab build basically never using any daggers. I get that you're trying to draw out the fights though. I feel like another good way to not end things too quick while keeping the spirit of the thing is to do a more stealth based build and try to stalk your host and phantoms and pick them off one by one then melting back onto the shadows...
“Backstab?… Backstab!!”
"No backstab..."
*sad Chase noises...*
Gyno, please teach Chase how to play
Love that
4:10 the real roll catch was the friends we made along the way
Ever since that one patch, Quickstep backstabs have been so clean and satisfying to witness. We've come a long way from the DS1 Lagstab days.

Would honestly be really funny if it buffed the Briar set damage when using quickstep
Ayoo 😂"Becksteb? Beeecksteeeb..."
Classic Chase really enjoys giving it from behind 😏😏😏
I've noticed at 5:25 the guy with double weapons does fire damage, that chest piece you swap to heal reduces your fire protection so you took more damage from him
I also got that chest piece to help maximize the heals but I always had to be careful when I switch to it to heal
The ds3 greatsword roll catch chain in 7:42 was amazing
Ohhh the nostalgia
1:26 Had to watch this over and over, what a clean backstage. No way they didn't think you cheated.
not really related to the video, but somehow i can always rely on youtube to consistently put chase on the very first video of the feed everyday, and i love it
11:02 Loved this part. Great prediction on the projectile throwing. I had a great laugh.
ofc i enjoy backstabs.. they should bring back hornet ring crit animations though
true, I was really hoping they kept those specially since they added scythe crits
I started watching your videos again chase after a year and I can most definitely say that this is a whole new level of skill you have aquired. You make it look so normal and effortless, despite being so difficult in reality.
Hosts with less than 1000 HP are like: "being alive is overrated"
"you don't need HP if you don't get hit"
Chase really said "I like ya and I want cha now we can do this the easy way or a haaard way the choice is yours"
I love when wizards fire 50 times at a wall, truly a INT moment.
A lot of these clips brought back DS3 Ringed City war nostalgia :’)
I was watching vaati’s new lore vid but chase takes priority 😅
Good ol Claymore and Dagger! Takes me back
Your videos are always a delight, I watch you every day when I get home from work :)
You should make a video for people that enjoy St. Trina's Torch.
Wizards mentioned at least 22 times:
00:55 Well I do see a Wizard, hello Wizard
01:02 Oh my god thats a Wizard and a half
01:15 Wizards!
01:18 One the Wizard
01:30 Hey Wizard
08:03 Hi Wizard
08:11 Two Wizards
08:27 I'm gonna need your Wizard
08:53 Hey Wizard
08:58 As if the Wizard alive
09:07 Okay, Wizard down
09:13 Is hard to backstab Wizards
09:24 Hey Wizard, back off, Wizard, you have 2 hp, Wizard
09:49 Come back here Wizard
09:54 Thats your entire plan, huh? Wizard
10:03 I wanna bring you away from the Wizard, so the Wizard
10:30 Hey Wizard
10:37 That Wizard
Since I started counting there were 2408.7 mentionings of Wizards across 194 videos.
Bonus:
11:53
Literally my favourite comments especially with the total across 200 vids
Be careful,he wizard hunter
Not the "I'm like a bird" 😂😂😂
Amazing how quick you manage to straffe round them and get a backstab.
Also, have you done any invasions using only the jar cannon? I would love to see that.
Red Sonya coming in hot with the Claymore criticals & Beast Claw bonks!
You are correct, this video is definitely for me

Chases commentary while playing is spot on and great to watch lol
That blue at 10:00 never even got a hit in, lol so funny
My favorite dark souls 3 videos were the hornet ring one shot pvp trolling videos. Love this video. 👍
i do greatly enjoy backstabs and parrys. Thank you
Aprecciete the build, my first run ever when the game was release, all gurranq stuff plus strenght, very cool days, love that one
how did you know I just perfected my backstab build chase omg ty for this video
That last host finish punching through the waterfowl dance was SO dirty. I love it
It’s a ritual for me to watch your videos when I eat, they’re so good!
quickstep + shard of alexander = win at elder pvp ez
also loved the sound effects starting at around 12:40
Always love to see the peak fishing
I like that not only did you backstab a bunch, but also got backstabbed a few times!
Bro I recently started playing again because of you. Thank you! I’m level 200 and trash lol I forgot how technical this game can be!
I love the uploads homie
I want another parry video, it's so satisfying watching you embarrass people 😂
If you want good wake ups you could try some other spells too
The Flame of Frenzy is a great wake up after backstabs.
Finding an good use for the beast spells was cool asf. Very underutilized spells.

this dudes so good at the game its insane

I love your vids bro.
Stop, you had me at "Backstab"
You should do a cosplay build as well. Like that one time some guy did a shadows of yharnam invasion cosplay in elden ring
Hey chase! How do you farm golem arrows? I find it so hard and I wanted to focus on greatbow
What can I use for long range in str or dex builds?
Backstabs!
Maybe the death’s poker carpet would be a good wake up? Into the fire if they roll, stay in the explosion if they mash out.
Catch ya next time!
Man i miss the special backstabs animations from ds3 (hornet ring ones)
I am curently using the sword of night and flame, so I would love a int/fai build!
@ChaseTheBro do a bow build with the magic golem great arrows from near the great jar
I love backshot- I mean backstabs!
I might be in the minority but id love some type of weekly return to DS3 special. Maybe thats not realistically possible but the pvp is still going strong and im ultra nostalgic for your ds3 parries and backstabs. Love your work, Chase.
That blue was definitely lag switching. Not surprised it was a L2 spamming Kevin too.
Great vid
If you're mostly going for crits try the Lordsworn Greatsword! It's the only GS with a 110 crit modifier! Yeah it lacks the claymore's poke and the Knight GS's moveset, but think of the sweet sweet backstab damage!
My two favorite attacks to catch wake ups are fully charged Iron Cleaver R2 and fully charged Treespear R2.

The Backstab Fisher is back
Hey Chase, love your videos man. I’m genuinely curious; when’s the last time you died in an invasion? I’ve never seen you go down before, so (if you ever do die) do you just cut those takes out?
yesssssss best video in a long time! I really missed the old chase the booty hunter
Ordovis' Greatsword L2 is a great wake up
I can't decide if it is ironic or fitting that Chase got backstabbed more times in his backstab video than his other videos.
14:15 "Duel of Fates" starts playing
“Because it’s easy… and it does a lotta damage”
The first team was a really cool setup made me kinda root for them lol
I haven't even tried doing invasions like I did in DKS3. I even remember I invaded with you and made you kinda proud. I just HATE how Elden Ring players seem to either try to gank 24/7 with multiple magic casters and melee at once, or that they are only summoning for a boss. I miss DKS3....
I love backstabs but i also love a nice druid build maybe you can make one and do a Video on it?
There's one item that may not seem like it should get able to, but it can backstab. St. Trinas torch
The God of the Backstab
I really miss the cool animation change from the Hornet Ring 😢
Yo bro could do a shield pvp build that be awesome
@8:07, LMFAO!!!!! 😂😂
Wizard booty is best booty.
Chase "MY BRO!"😅🎉❤
LFG Chase!!!
Why yes I do enjoy backstabs!…..how did you know?….
Man i wish i could fight you, i'd be so much fun attempting to beat someone so skilled.
I do enjoy backstabs. This video is for me
you have to do a magic build again please bro !!
Poor knockout_knot4, Dude literally swinging and hitting air just to get hard punished and dismissed
Faith builds have so many NASTY backstab follow-ups, the close-range hit of Placidusax's Ruin is one that's really underrated. Puts teammates on their ass, plus Barrier of Gold helps smite distant wizards daring to trade with the laser.
Why does everyone keep stabbing me in the back?!?!?
The amount of people I see in these videos that just refuse to level Vigor is insane
14:20 raptor of the mists makes you phase completely through the chariot
1:34 how did you do this side step behind the back? O_O quickstep can do something like that? O_O
Dedicated backshot build
Baby got backstabbed
oh yea! I love them bums.
Oh nice, new vid dropped.
Nice new video :D
Feels very weird to see a backstab build basically never using any daggers. I get that you're trying to draw out the fights though.
I feel like another good way to not end things too quick while keeping the spirit of the thing is to do a more stealth based build and try to stalk your host and phantoms and pick them off one by one then melting back onto the shadows...
black knife showcase is for me
i need someone to teach me how to be this good lol. does the menu switch lower the lag on switching weapons
Been meaning to ask you Chase, do you only invade in new game+ or this is standard game?
It wouldn’t matter, invasion is level/wpn lvl based.
Guys do you have any collosal weapon recommendations??
Why you keep putting Shard of Alexander on when the only AoW you’re using is Quickstep, does it make it more better?
