    I was very lucky. sept2022, I placed an order for xlt hybrid and I took delivery feb2023. I love the truck, I am averaging 45-47 mpg, or over 620 miles per tank of gas. so far, so good.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Awesome. That's a quick turnaround, and I just love mine. Your mileage is amazing! I'm not sure I've hit 620 miles yet for a tank (I've got up to perhaps 575), but I obviously don't live in a place that offers ideal conditions for mileage.

    This might sound a little weird, but the Maverick is my "realistic" dream vehicle. I live on 17 acres, out on the prairie, and I love the truck form and comfort level, but I hate their terrible gas mileage.Last year I wanted to get one but I could not wait a year for a vehicle. I ended with a Subaru Outback, which I love but there are times when that bed would make life so much easier. I still think my next vehicle may be the Maverick and hopefully by then (in a few years) they will be more readily available.

      I get it. I was actually looking at moving a little more lux (one of the smaller Lincoln SUVs, for example), but the Maverick Hybrid just checked so many boxes for me and I've not been at all disappointed.

    Ford absolutely knocked it our of the park with this truck. It may not work for ALL, but it definitely works for MOST.

    Now that was a good review of this truck, for sure. I've been pleasantly surprised by the success of the Maverick, in a "maybe there's hope after all" kind of way. It's nice to see that there's an alternative to buying some bloated full-sized pickup for those of us who would like to have the capability without the excess.

    What a good size. I don't understand most of the people in my suburban neighborhood with huge pickups because almost all of them never tow, none of them ever go offroad, and I've never seen any of them carry a load that a Maverick or Ridgeline can't. 99% of the time nothing is in the bed at all and they have a hard to park vehicle that gets terrible MPG. Makes no sense.

    6 months in on a 2023 red Ford Maverick hybrid I can honestly say it's a great vehicle. I do haul stuff occasionally and it's got good tie-downs, it's got excellent handling and the load is no problem. Also I'm getting almost 50 miles per gallon using mostly eco mode and not being a heavy footer but loving the fact it's double mileage of my previous vehicle. Get lots of looks and compliments and people asking me about it. You can't do much better than having a beautiful Maverick to walk up to and unlock everyday.

    I've been considering the purchase of a Hybrid Maverick for some time to replace my current sedan which is about 4 years old but with low mileage. This vehicle has been in short supply since it was released due to a much higher than expected demand. Like you I find it a perfect combination of utility and fuel efficiency, there is nothing like having a bed to easily load bulky items when necessary. The interior room which is comparable to a sedan is also a big plus, fitting 4 adults in relative comfort is more than adequate for my purposes. Great review!

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  ปีที่แล้ว

      I replaced a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium AWD with this, and yes, the interior space is really similar to a sedan but with all the flexibility of having that bed.

      @@DustinAbbottTWI Currently own a 2018 Fusion with very low miles, happy with the vehicle but would love to have the utility of a small pickup. Owned two full size pickups in the past but don't need that much payload for my uses. A small pickup like the Maverick would be perfect. Not ready to sell the Fusion yet but when I do it will be for hybrid Maverick.

    The best Maverick video to date. I agree 💯% on everything you said. I walked on a lot about 45 miles from my house and got one with zero drama and slightly below MSRP.
    I love mine and it blows away my CMax for mpg.
    I got an Alto blue XLT with the moonroof and tonneau cover but it was the only hybrid they had. This dealership played no games at all. My local dealers are total crooks from my 30 year experience with them.

      I really wish they would introduce the hybrid in AWD (and while we are wishing, a plug in hybrid version!). But yes, I made it through Toronto in the middle of that crazy storm at the beginning of March. There was a drift probably 50cm tall outside the drive to the hotel I was staying in, but the Maverick plowed through it. The 401 was insane that night - no lanes, just one big snowy parking lot, but I never got stuck

My Maverick has been very enjoyable also but as you mentioned, the entertainment unit has been a problem area. I get ghost calls from my phone that I can't hangup. I have to turn off my phone Bluetooth to get it to disconnect. I have also enjoyed many of your photography reviews as that is one of my hobbies. My current personal vehicle is a ‘22 F150 Powerboost (hybrid) Lariat 502A. I absolutely love my hybrid F150 and can (if I’m careful) get 8.5 L/100 km on our local provincial highways. Typically though, I’m getting around 9.5 L/100 km on those same highways and better around town.
    Our Powerboost has 40,000 kms on it and it’s been problem free. A few, no hassle recalls; the last one being wiper motor replacement.

    I ordered a XLT hybrid last September and will take delivery on Friday. Wish it was a Lariat because I wanted rear parking sensors which are exclusive to one of the Lariat packages. But Canada can't get Lariat Hybrids for some reason. Maybe this will change - maybe a plug in with a larger battery? Who knows. I had pretty much given up hope that it would ever be built. Traded my 2019 F150 Lariat SuperCab for this and will enjoy not having to climb into the truck anymore. While waiting for the Maverick, I also bought a rustproofed 2008 Ranger as something my daughter would drive as she was leery of breaking one of those $1900 Lariat tail lights.

    I've been looking at the Maverick as well. I've never owned a truck before. With regard to the radio unit, I see that mentioned often as one of the truck's flaws. Did you look into installing an aftermarket unit? Usually, I have found that just replacing the stereo unit greatly enhances audio sound quality without replacing the stock speaker. Interesting that you replaced the speakers but did not change the head unit.

    • @fordmaverickmaniac
      @fordmaverickmaniac ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock speakers are only rated at 25 watts which makes me think the amp is underpowered. Normally it is best to replace both. Or for not much more, get a Mav Lariat lux to get the B&O sound system which upgrades the door speakers, and adds 2 more: a center speaker on the dash and a sub behind the back seat.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've considered changing the head unit, but haven't taken that plunge. Upgrading the speakers and adding the sub really improved the sound quality (which I'm happy with).

    What brand & name of winters did you end up buying??

  • @robertcudlipp3426
    @robertcudlipp3426 ปีที่แล้ว

    My comment was not intended as a negative.
    In Australia, the largest selling vehicle, for the last 3 years, has been the Toyota Hi Lux in various iterations. Many of these have been purchased by trade workers in cities, as they have a real need for them.
    Also, there is a huge number sold in rural/outback areas where tough,4WD vehicles are simply a basic necessity. The AWD found in vehicles such as Subarus, simply would not provide either sufficient power for pulling what you have been travelling with, ground clearance in wed and sandy conditions, and lack the basic toughness/durability of your vehicle.
    As our family has a, now too large for easy management, 900 acre ( divided by 2.5= hectares, in an area that once had mega wet winters, now with global warming the rainfall is clearly declining, a heavy duty 4WD is mandatory. Was very interested to see that you had been able to satisfactorily cope with FWD, this would just not cut it where we are; sometimes the lower, wetter areas are so boggy, even a tough 4WD will just sink to the base of the body and a tractor is needed to haul it out. After 50 years of ownership, these areas are now avoided in winter, and we use x 2 Honda 650 cc 4WD drive all-terrain motorcycles, each fitted with a locally engineered and fitted roll bar, given the large numbers of farm related deaths from, essentially, quad bike rollovers.
    There has been a mass infusion of these types of vehicles in Australian cities. The choice is entirely personal.
    I have no need for the multi-uses you have for your vehicle and will happily remain with my BMW sedan for town use.
    We all have different needs.
    Btw: would be very interested to learn if you had petrol/diesel engines, the litre size of the powerplant, and the power and torque developed, if you are doing that pulling/towing and forging through snow and the like, you need most of your torque low down in the rev range.
    Interesting review.

    2 motors on rear = 2WD 4 motors on all 4 wheels = 4WD but NO, everyone uses 1 motor per axle mounted

    power cables req which will be twice as heavy. I dont get it. And then the cybertruck has a 3rd motor?
