I know this is a bit off topic, but I feel like I owe you so much. You've helped me boost my self esteem, I was in a very dark place, got into drugs, thought about taking my own life several times. It was a struggle even at a young age, dealing with ADHD, feeling disrespected and down all the time, fights with family, getting mentally and physically abused by classmates. I can't even describe how thankful I am, your advice and help means so much and I wish I could meet you and say this in person, but everything still stands. I am much better now, it got to a point where I can finally sleep at night, without having thoughts, without any stress. Depression is in the past and it makes me proud saying I managed to overcome that phase, but I couldn't have done it without you. You deserve the best, keep grinding, this is just the beginning, I expect and wish much more in the near future. Once again, thank you so much, and I'm forever grateful for giving me the strength I didn't know I needed. A lot of women feel like they don’t need to put in effort. They probably still get responses even though all they say is hey - online dating is much easier for women unfortunately. As much as that sucks, it’s 100% true!

I’ve been on Hinge for the last two weeks and have worked hard to craft each message to each individual woman I message, and still I haven’t gotten one single “like” since the first day I joined. Really want to believe that online dating is not all just garbage, but personal experience is leading me to that conclusion pretty fast.
It's not about the girls. It's all about you, become the best version of yourself (fitness, health, finances, emotional IQ, communication skills, hygiene, dressing, confidence); then they will be messaging you.

What I don't really understand, is when a woman shows her interest first and write you a message, but after your reply, do not answer anymore. I had such situations several times. Yeah, this is good basic advice. Dating apps have definitely created a problem in that we've developed the mentality that there's always someone better because you end up matching with so many people. It was easier when we set up dates with those in closest proximity.

I actually hugely disagree. On dating apps, you can basically say nothing (as long as you’re super attractive) when you match and she will then try her best to start something. I know that from personal experience, I had really mediocre photos that only showed casual everyday stuff. Then, I put photos that showcased my body, status and whatnot, and matches went 20x and girls were the ones messaging me first (usually saying the dumbest shit). I also realised that attractive girls have no game of their own when THEY are pursuing you, which is funny but not so attractive. Good work Courtney, but this video could’ve clarified that a bit. Whenever a woman has nothing written in her profile and just a selfie, then all she gets is hey. Because what else can you say? Otherwise, I normally acknowledge something she wrote, try to relate to it, ask questions, etc. Making witty remarks is also very helpful, if you can think of something clever enough. I sent a witty remark to a girl and that started a relationship.

Before I took a break from online dating, the toughest women to message were ones with no meaningful text in their profile and no pictures with any activity beyond posing for a picture. I'd still manage to come up with a general question to ask if the profile gave me nothing but I can see a lot of guys just giving up and saying "Hey."

Excellent pointers, thanks for sharing! I do think there is a counter-point to "#4-Get Her Off The App ASAP" though. I see what you mean by getting the girl's communication with you to something exclusive that's away from the other-dudes-hitting-on-her echo chamber. I would normally agree that is true...ASSUMING she is operating in good faith. Meaning: she's a real person with an honest profile who is there to find someone for dating and not really a schemer, scammer, catfish, chatbot, fake profile, deceiver, liar, betrayer, or some other villain with nefarious purpose. What I'm getting at is EVERYONE that signs up, pays money, and clicks "I Agree" is bound to the Terms of Service of that site. This means there are specific things you are and not allowed to say & do while using the site. Being bound to the TOS also protects YOU from other members saying & doing those specific things against you while using the site too. Someone can be all sunshine & rainbows when messaging you on the app, but if you rush off too soon you might find them pull a complete 180...and now you're stuck and completely on your own in dealing with them. Plus, some stranger now has some personal information of yours, even if it is just an email or cell number. My version of this tip would be: Protect yourself first. Take the time you need to build up trust with someone before giving out your personal info. The right person for you will feel the same way.

It doesn't matter what opening line I use. I have tried writing a paragraph asking about things in their profile or just saying "hello how are you?" 99.99% never respond. So, why should I put in the effort when as far as I see it they are just looking for validation. Many are probably still in a relationship and looking for something better than what they have now. A few random things I've noticed: 1. Lots of women take horrible pictures of themselves and actually look better in person. 2. Lots of women use the same things in their profile as men do. 3. Some women really love cows. 4. Group photos she is almost always the least attractive one. 5. There is a good chance you'll get her number quite easy if you get her talking about herself.

I think the major problem with the apps is their cultured expectations for romance / sex "Find your flame". Dating is really about meeting new people you otherwise would not. So it's fun talking to people and sharing life stories. I've made great friends, but I've talked to lots of scared people afraid to be vulnerable for fear of feeling exploited again. My only gripe is with the economics of the app game. Males footing the bill. Prices being rather gouging and exploiting FOMO psychology.

I've done every single one of these and sent THOUSANDS (I'm not exaggerating at all when I say this) of messages. I NEVER say just hi or hey because it was noticeable early on that many girls actually stated that on their profile anyway. I've always used things on her profile and things in common but unfortunately the fundamental fact of physical attraction is always higher up the list than anything else. If I consider myself average or worse than average looking then even if a girl has a sea of "hey" and "hi" messages to wade through she'll still overlook me to either continue waiting for a better looking guy or instead reply to a seriously good looking guy who ironically used a one word message!
Best way to think about this is to find the kind of person you want to be a part of your life. Just be genuinely and unapologetically yourself around other people and the right people will come into yourself. Also get off the dating apps as soon as possible. They're great if you want to meet lots of people fast, but you're very unlikely to have the kind of conversation that will actually make you feel connected to somebody else on a dating app.

Dating apps are an extremely superficial social competition and it's easy for a man who is putting minimal effort in to get overlooked by one who is in shape with a charismatic profile and professional photos. Especially when women are absolutely the more scarce sex on dating apps and have literal hundreds of options in their matches. I say that with a lot of empathy for those kinds of burnt out men, too. Whether they'll admit it or not, I know a lot of men who are tired of social competition and just want to feel like somebody outside of their immediate family cares about the fact they exist. Chasing sex is an easy but futile escape for people with a lack of a social life. It is really hard to muster up the effort to keep trying when you're the person who is always excluded from the group, but you have to if you want to make a change.
@@lifemocker85 All that being said, you're going to have a tough time meeting people these days if you don't use some kind of electronic medium (it's a sad truth of modern times), but that doesn't mean you have to keep playing the online dating game. Play to your strengths, figure out a way to meet people online, get them in an offline real interaction with you after the introduction, and see where things go from there. If somebody isn't interested in playing by those rules, move on from them.

It's also true that a subset of people who do care about you will have to be convinced first. It isn't fair, but it is reality. The way I look at it is that you're going to have to wade through a whole lot of wrong before you find right. This is an experience literally every human being goes through. You have three ways you can look at it: 1. You can burn yourself out from trying to convert wrong into right (which is generally futile). 2. You can give up trying and isolate yourself because nobody else cares about you. 3. You can acknowledge that every person who socially rejects you probably wasn't right for your life at that time and use it as motivation to keep looking for your crowd who will want you around them and create an environment where you all build yourselves up. Those people are out there for everyone, they're just harder to find for some people versus others. Every human being has innate needs for control, acceptance, and consistence. People inside of stable social settings naturally have these needs balanced and often market themselves without even trying. People who do not have stable social settings often have imbalances in these areas. Marketing your genuine self isn't even a requirement to find the right people for you, but it will drastically speed up the process. What I will say though is that if you are using dating to make up for a lack of anything in your life, you will always self-sabotage or fail. You have to address the root of what is making you feel imbalanced first or you will naturally push the people who are right for you away from you.
I'm on Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge... But I'm already thinking about quitting. It's weird. I'm confident in myself. I have high IQ/EQ. I'm a homeowner. I feel like I am a catch. But 10 years of being single tells me that women are just not interested in anything I have to offer. I feel like I have to completely change who I am as a person just to get a date. I realize this attitude is a turn-off, but I don't know how to proceed.

What I don't really understand, is when a woman shows her interest first and write you a message, but after your reply, do not answer anymore. I had such situations several times. It cannot be true that I did something wrong. My communicational skills are not so bad based on my experience with other women. What is wrong with these ones?

Dating apps have definitely created a problem in that we've developed the mentality that there's always someone better because you end up matching with so many people. It was easier when we set up dates with those in closest proximity.

I actually hugely disagree. On dating apps, you can basically say nothing (as long as you’re super attractive) when you match and she will then try her best to start something. I know that from personal experience, I had really mediocre photos that only showed casual everyday stuff. Then, I put photos that showcased my body, status and whatnot, and matches went 20x and girls were the ones messaging me first (usually saying the dumbest shit). I also realised that attractive girls have no game of their own when THEY are pursuing you, which is funny but not so attractive. Good work Courtney, but this video could’ve clarified that a bit. Whenever a woman has nothing written in her profile and just a selfie, then all she gets is hey. Because what else can you say? Otherwise, I normally acknowledge something she wrote, try to relate to it, ask questions, etc. Making witty remarks is also very helpful, if you can think of something clever enough. I sent a witty remark to a girl and that started a relationship.
It also can mean the profile is fake, especially if there is only one pic

Before I took a break from online dating, the toughest women to message were ones with no meaningful text in their profile and no pictures with any activity beyond posing for a picture. I'd still manage to come up with a general question to ask if the profile gave me nothing but I can see a lot of guys just giving up and saying "Hey."

I do think there is a counter-point to "#4-Get Her Off The App ASAP" though. I see what you mean by getting the girl's communication with you to something exclusive that's away from the other-dudes-hitting-on-her echo chamber. I would normally agree that is true...ASSUMING she is operating in good faith. Meaning: she's a real person with an honest profile who is there to find someone for dating and not really a schemer, scammer, catfish, chatbot, fake profile, deceiver, liar, betrayer, or some other villain with nefarious purpose.
What I'm getting at is EVERYONE that signs up, pays money, and clicks "I Agree" is bound to the Terms of Service of that site. This means there are specific things you are and not allowed to say & do while using the site. Being bound to the TOS also protects YOU from other members saying & doing those specific things against you while using the site too.
Someone can be all sunshine & rainbows when messaging you on the app, but if you rush off too soon you might find them pull a complete 180...and now you're stuck and completely on your own in dealing with them. Plus, some stranger now has some personal information of yours, even if it is just an email or cell number.
My version of this tip would be: Protect yourself first. Take the time you need to build up trust with someone before giving out your personal info. The right person for you will feel the same way.

It doesn't matter what opening line I use. I have tried writing a paragraph asking about things in their profile or just saying "hello how are you?" 99.99% never respond. So, why should I put in the effort when as far as I see it they are just looking for validation. Many are probably still in a relationship and looking for something better than what they have now.

1. Lots of women take horrible pictures of themselves and actually look better in person.
2. Lots of women use the same things in their profile as men do.
3. Some women really love cows.
4. Group photos she is almost always the least attractive one.

Most common problem I run into is putting actual effort into a conversation with a woman that puts very little effort into her profile. Like creativity doesn’t come from a vacuum. Men do actually want to know more about a woman than what’s on the surface but if you don’t give much to discuss it’s kind of wasted time. Effort is a two way street

I think the major problem with the apps is their cultured expectations for romance / sex "Find your flame".
Dating is really about meeting new people you otherwise would not. So it's fun talking to people and sharing life stories.
I've made great friends, but I've talked to lots of scared people afraid to be vulnerable for fear of feeling exploited again.
My only gripe is with the economics of the app game. Males footing the bill. Prices being rather gouging and exploiting FOMO psychology.

I've done every single one of these and sent THOUSANDS (I'm not exaggerating at all when I say this) of messages. I NEVER say just hi or hey because it was noticeable early on that many girls actually stated that on their profile anyway. I've always used things on her profile and things in common but unfortunately the fundamental fact of physical attraction is always higher up the list than anything else. If I consider myself average or worse than average looking then even if a girl has a sea of "hey" and "hi" messages to wade through she'll still overlook me to either continue waiting for a better looking guy or instead reply to a seriously good looking guy who ironically used a one word message!

Best way to think about this is to find the kind of person you want to be a part of your life. Just be genuinely and unapologetically yourself around other people and the right people will come into yourself.
Also get off the dating apps as soon as possible. They're great if you want to meet lots of people fast, but you're very unlikely to have the kind of conversation that will actually make you feel connected to somebody else on a dating app.

Dating apps are an extremely superficial social competition and it's easy for a man who is putting minimal effort in to get overlooked by one who is in shape with a charismatic profile and professional photos. Especially when women are absolutely the more scarce sex on dating apps and have literal hundreds of options in their matches.
I say that with a lot of empathy for those kinds of burnt out men, too. Whether they'll admit it or not, I know a lot of men who are tired of social competition and just want to feel like somebody outside of their immediate family cares about the fact they exist. Chasing sex is an easy but futile escape for people with a lack of a social life. It is really hard to muster up the effort to keep trying when you're the person who is always excluded from the group, but you have to if you want to make a change.
@@lifemocker85 All that being said, you're going to have a tough time meeting people these days if you don't use some kind of electronic medium (it's a sad truth of modern times), but that doesn't mean you have to keep playing the online dating game. Play to your strengths, figure out a way to meet people online, get them in an offline real interaction with you after the introduction, and see where things go from there. If somebody isn't interested in playing by those rules, move on from them.

@@lifemocker85 That's certainly a perspective and is it also definitely a fact that the majority of people you meet won't care about you. It's also true that a subset of people who do care about you will have to be convinced first. It isn't fair, but it is reality.
The way I look at it is that you're going to have to wade through a whole lot of wrong before you find right. This is an experience literally every human being goes through. You have three ways you can look at it:
1. You can burn yourself out from trying to convert wrong into right (which is generally futile).
2. You can give up trying and isolate yourself because nobody else cares about you.
3. You can acknowledge that every person who socially rejects you probably wasn't right for your life at that time and use it as motivation to keep looking for your crowd who will want you around them and create an environment where you all build yourselves up. Those people are out there for everyone, they're just harder to find for some people versus others.
Every human being has innate needs for control, acceptance, and consistence. People inside of stable social settings naturally have these needs balanced and often market themselves without even trying. People who do not have stable social settings often have imbalances in these areas.
Marketing your genuine self isn't even a requirement to find the right people for you, but it will drastically speed up the process. What I will say though is that if you are using dating to make up for a lack of anything in your life, you will always self-sabotage or fail. You have to address the root of what is making you feel imbalanced first or you will naturally push the people who are right for you away from you.
