Had rear tyres, oil change, replaced the brake discs and pads last week. Did a few other things- CarPlay on PCM, MF steering wheel, lights refurbished. Suspension checked and DSC Sport installed. Also fixed the plague - infamous shooting spongey innards. Very chuffed with how well the car drives. PDK oil and filter in the coming months.
Just got myself a 2006 Porsche Boxster S with manual transmission a couple weeks ago. I plan on replacing all fluids of course. I'll be getting a better baffled oil pan, Motorsports AOS, brake pads etc before I track it. Trying to get the head unit changed up to date to current technology. Also plan on dash cams.
Congrats! Yup, sounds like you have done your research & homework. All good to go then. For the head unit on my 987.1, am still keeping it stock as I prefer the stock look. Unless Porsche comes out with a newer PCM player like what they did for the 996, I might consider.
I recently picked up a 2011 Cayman w/ PDK. After purchase i replaced all fluids(engine oil, both transmission fluids, coolant, brake and steering) plus all filters. Total cost of service at a independent shop was just under $2k USD. The biggest expense was the transmission service. It alone was $1k. In the next few months i will be replacing the spark plugs.
Good to hear that. Now you can have a peace of mind pushing the car harder. Yup, the bulk of the cost would be from the PDK sump/ filter and the PDK oil
Great sharing as always. I also was told when changing PDK oil, other than the gasket & the pan - to also change the gear oil for the diff. Correct? Same for Porsche and for the other cars when changing transmission oil.
Yup, changing it at 15,000km is on the overkill side. However I also did mention it was a 7 year old car, so it was changed based on duration instead of mileage. Another analogy would be Porsches which do less than 10,000km in 3 years, it would be recommended to service the car yearly instead of every 3 years 👍🏼
Hi sir, may i know estimated cost for these 6 item you mentioned, planning want to buy used Porsche 981 2.7. Fun/weekend car. Thank you. Really enjoying video

The PDK service was 1k by itself and that was with an independent porsche mechanic
Yup, it's around the same here in Malaysia where I am.
Possibly costs might even go up due to the world events 😓
Can you please upload a detail video on how to do PDK service on a 981 Cayman?

Thanks bro 🙏🏻
Yup, that's right. It's recommended to change both fluids 👍🏼
Really like the video. Keep it up bro 💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks bro for your view & support 🙏
Maybe changing the gearbox oil after only 15000 Km is a bit overkill, seeing how the interval is 180,000 Km or 12 years...
