    Great tips there. I like the last tips and that’s also the reason I bought another old continental car. A good mechanic can really give much better ownership experience. Of course other tips area also important. At the end of the day, I found that I also learned a lot from the used cars that I owned. Coming from a person who just started playing with conti for almost 2 years. I hope one day I can experience owning a Porsche ❤️. Cheers

      Great that you found value from this video bro. Yes, a good mechanic/ workshop is usually underrated & not covered in most buying guide videos as the content creator will usually focus on the pros or issues with that particular model. But if it's a well known issue that can be fixed, then it's worth considering to get that model.
      Starting with older conti cars is good as this will give you valuable experience & knowledge which can be carried forward to your next car. Look forward to seeing you with a Porsche in the future 👍🏼

      Hi there, I would say why not?
      Alot of ppl I know dont use the options that they bought the car with, so if you can save abit then why not
      Go & try a car with options and see how you feel about it. If you are indifferent, then get the entry level and save the money for road trips 👍🏼

    Agree with you on all points. Especially high milage. My first red 2010 Audi A3 (Collision write off) had 160k kms. Second Blue 2009 Audi aA3 had only 70k kms. Needless to say which one costed more in repairs. It came down to the fact 2009 one was driven too hard every time owner took it out limited times per week. Must of had some pent up driving demand syndrome working from home. He also broke a couple clips. The 2010 one was driven every day by a lady.

    Great video mate! I’m in England and currently looking for a Cayman 987.2 PDK. TIPS 3 and 4 (seller and mileage) are perfect as I looked at one last week which was very low mileage 27,000 miles but the car has the original tyres 2012 and although good tread they were all cracking! And the seller was very rude and we hade a bad vibe! Looking at one today with a better seller and 45,000 miles but better condition so you are spot on with your tips! Keep the videos coming mate! Thanks

    pre purchase inspection: should we pay deposit to the sellers who requested for it? many stories have spoken that they are non refundable when things get bad. Some even default their honoured promise to refund
    what do you think?

    • @ThePorscheLover
      @ThePorscheLover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, you should never pay a deposit. True story, I have a friend who paid a deposit for a Ferrari to be driven from Kuantan to KL for PPI. He transferred a few thousand ringgit to them as a 'deposit'.
      Come the appointment time car was nowhere to be seen, seller refused to answer & ad was taken down. There are alot of scammers out there.

      Yup, you definitely should. I'm unsure if you're from Malaysia but over here, Porsche only accepts the cars that are sold officially by them. Otherwise you'll need to pay for an 'adoption fee' to bring it back to the authorized SC.

    It would be great if u can share with the viewers on Porsche models affected by IMS bearing issues. How to identify them? What are the tell tale signs?

    • @ThePorscheLover
      @ThePorscheLover  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David. Sure, I will take note of this for a future video 👍🏼
      Tell tale signs would be the following:
      - metal shavings in your engine oil
      - oil leak at the rear (between engine & gearbox)
      - knocking sounds (between engine & gearbox)

    Totally agree. As Bobby once said, good cars can end up with bad dealers, and bad cars can end up with good dealers.
    My thought process is that event with a bad car from a good dealer, they will take far more ownership and responsibility to amend that situation. Rather than wipe ass and bye bye.
    Awesome as usual. 🥳
