  • In this video I use a Truedepth and 'Lidar' scan from the iphone 12 pro (This can work with any mesh or 3d scan) and make a Low Poly copy. I then roughly UV the low poly mesh, bake texture over from the vertex colours and then edit the texture it in texture paint mode.
    I show how the texture can be edited in photoshop and cloned in 2d and 3d in Blender. In the final part I do the same with a simple lidar scan of multiple walls, and draw the Lo Poly mesh with planes and bake texture again. I am using Blender 2.9. Normal maps can be baked in the same way and i will make a video discussing this in future.
    I usually use Zbrush for this but Blender makes it even easier to explain, its quite hard teaching Zbrush.
    Thanks for watching and let me know if you need any help and pls SUBSCRIBE Thanks

    I tried a bunch of videos but yours worked and it was the simplest! Thanks for not making it overly complicated.

    Thanks for making the lidar clip so quickly. I would like to see a closer look at the scan, and perhaps a comparison of truedepth vs lidar.

    thanks for this, photogrammetry still the way to go for high fidelity scans from the looks, or save up for a Artec, can you do a video on your photogrammetry setup?

    4.58 use the shrink-wrap modifier rather than 'scaling it up a bit'

    in which format do you import your model with texture? Thank you for the video.

    This is awesome thanks. I want to get one of those rotating display disks. Do you have a recommendation?

    Just a note, Vertex Color has been renamed to Color Attribute now. So if you search for the Vertex Color node you wont find it

      Hi has your model got vertex colours ? Did it come from a source that baked vertex colours ? Can u access the vertex colour node or is it not showing at all in your shader nodes menu

    I can't get mines to work. I am importing scanned obj file with texture. When it opens in mines in the material section it already says the image file is loaded. In your example when you duplicate the shoe to make the low res and you click on the original (high res) it does not show any previous scanned image in your materials. how come? thanks

    • @MrKams1
      @MrKams1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi it should not make any difference. The original should have texture and the duplicate just an empty image slot that is not connected. Just go into shading workspace and check for texture on original, ensure you turn on material preview by pressing Z to see if it's there.

      @@MrKams1 You think it has something to do with mines showing up as textured material and not vertex like yours. How can I get texture material to become vertex color instead or does that matter in 3.0? Sorry been hurting my head over this.

    What Truedepth scanner do you prefer?

    • @MrKams1
      @MrKams1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly both are quite hard to get something good from. However back one captures larger space and less detail. Front one nothing larger than a head at close range for small objects with more detail. Depends on object really

      @@AndyTanguay no worries bud, i used Heges for the lidar in this and scandy pro for the trudepth, hope that helps. Before i used 3dscannerapp.com, i find Heges and Scandy better to work with and with more options, but they are not free. Hope that helps

      @@MrKams1 Definitely helps. I only ask as I'm getting a new iPhone tomorrow and will be dipping into this world soon.
