    In Part Two of this series, we pick up where we left off in Part One of Exploring Photogrammetry and cover some best practices for scanning, as well as how to clean up your photoscans using Blender.
    Blender is a free and open-source 3D creation suite: www.blender.org/
    Polycam is an application that uses LIDAR and photogrammetry to "scan" objects and spaces to create 3D models from them: poly.cam/ An Android version of the app is coming soon!

      If anyone’s reading through these, here’s some fun trivia for you: Greg here lent his face AND voice for the Night at Charlie’s cinematic at the beginning of this video. He’s the one checking his watch and mourning the fries

    Man, I've been interested in photogrammetry for about a month, so as anyone would do I've been watching a ton of videos on the subject. This one was the most informative by far. Thanks a lot!

      You won’t need LIDAR once the Android version releases, and you can use some of the tools in my description to scan using Android phones or processing them on PC or laptop

      @@ArturoJReal oh, i know that. lidar scans are just better.
      and they are especially better for big things, and living in a region with a ton of historical buildings...

      Good news! You can now upload images to poly.cam from your phone’s web browser to process them into a 3D model!

    Hi, very clear and pro tutorial. I notice you don’t mention how you made the mesh unified. All Vert’s fused. Mine is in small pieces..

    • @ArturoJReal
      @ArturoJReal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the note! To unify the mesh, you can select all of the vertices in Edit Mode by selecting them with the A key, then pressing M to Merge by Distance should work! If not, you can select them and use the J key to join

    i know there are many different factors that can impact on the time involved in the cleaning process but ...
    i'd like to know more about the average time needed to make a high quality photo scan of a medium sized object, about 20 to 50cm for exemple, for any Regular user of 3D software.

    hey Arturo thanks for a great video , and explanation. I wonder my self of the problem of after have cleaned the photogrammetry ( like deadpool tex) and there after exporting it to Mixamo to make an animation from template, after that you can only download it as fbx, and now how to aply the texture so you can export it to other programs (unity etc) i know one should bake the texture, but the texture dont fit any more. any Advice ?

    • @ArturoJReal
      @ArturoJReal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hm, what program are you using to clean up/apply/bake textures? (Feel free to ping me on Discord so I get notified!)

      @@ArturoJReal i'm using Blender like you do Arturo, - but its when im importing its is from fbx fil, and im confused. Should i first uv unwrap, and have baked texture, - or is ther e some possibillitises of something with vertex colour? i'm trying to export my 3D animations to make AR video effects in AR Spark
