Funny you mention fire alarms in Trump budings.
A friend of a friend used to own a fire alarm installation company.
He made the mistake of installing fire alarms in a Trump casino.
When the job was done, Trump offered him the price of the contract minus the likely legal fees he would incur fighting for the full payment in court.
    Jerk move, bro.
It was pennies on the dollar.
He fought, he lost his business in the process.
    ...
The first time I heard Trump get political was back in the early 2000s, he was complaining that New Jersey wouldnt let him bulldoze one of the last habitats for an endangered butterfly to expand a casino.
What an arrogant prick, wanting to cause the extinction of an entire species to build up a casino.
    ...
Americans wonder why New Yorkers and New Jerseyites hate Trump so bad.
    Its because we know him.
To know Trump is to despise him.

Unfortunately, for most of, not only his supporters, but conservatives in general, the GOP's turning a blind eye to Trump's abuse of power, is a god damn selling point.
They see no problem with Republicans playing dirty, in fact, they encourage it, as long as they're victorious.
They relish in electing people whose sole purpose is to "hurt the other side", and feel betrayed when those same politicians do things that harm them instead, as one voter said, after her husband lost his job over a Trump's policy, "I voted for him because I wanted him to hurt the Democrats in this country, not my family!" However, when asked if she'd vote for him again, she responded, "Of course."
If half this country is willing to continuously vote against their own interests, just to stick it to the Libs, then a little "abuse of power", is no big thing.

Correction: there is no such thing as "Luxembourgian Independence Day". First of all, 'Luxembourgian' is not really the preferred term, rather use 'Luxembourgish'. Second of all, Luxembourgers don't celebrate an Independence Day. We only have the Luxembourgish National Day or Grand Duke's Official Birthday (even though it's always celebrated on the same day, June 23rd, and was never the actual birthday of any ruler of Luxembourg, and the reasons for the actual date are convoluted).
We don't celebrate Independence because there wasn't one moment in history where we gained independence and that was it; we had independence for a long time in our early history, then we were part of different European empires at one point and another, mostly unwillingly, then we had a quasi-Indepence with the King of the Netherlands being simultaneously Grand Duke of Luxembourg until finally gaining true independence up until the Nazis invaded us. But our independence wasn't really achieved with a glorious military victory against our oppressors at any point or anything like that so it doesn't really warrant celebration.
To assume every country has an Independence Day in the mould of the American Independence Day is pretty ignorant of the fact that other countries' histories and celebrations will obviously be different.

Netflix touched a little, just a little on what went down and how in Web of Make Believe, episode 2 I believe. We've got a much bigger underlying issue that these clueless schmucks aren't realizing -and that's radical far right white supremacist groups. What's scarier still, is that many GOP public servants either know and look the other way, or are in full support of it. We're moving backwards in this country, not forwards. That's why Trump has such a cult following-people LOVE him bc they're racist, misogynistic and wanted payback for having Obama in office, and they weren't having a woman, and God forbid it was Clinton!!!!🥺 The ONLY way to shake up this party is to stop giving them our votes. Otherwise, they are going to continue to be afraid of losing the majority. They need to see that WE are the majority, not the neo Nazi groups.

      @nonyabizness.original 2 ปีที่แล้ว

no you don't. society can assume guilt, but if you're pardoned pre-conviction, you have no record and don't "literally" have to do anything. are you paying attention? trump as potus had the sole discretion and unrestricted ability to pardon anyone he wanted to, which means he could hand you the piece of paper without any words spoken and ~,poof~ you're pardoned.
how could you even imagine that trump would force someone to "literally" admit guilt? that sounds ridiculous on its face. no doubt that when he handed over pardons with one hand, he got a big fat check in the other, but that's about it. no one ever even has to know that he pardoned you.

Nevertheless, Al Gore did what he thought was best for the country, he conceded. We should have a provision which requires potential candidates to sign a Declaration stating that they will concede if they lose.
