- When the cougar were kittens I used to let them ride on my shoulders. Now that they are over 100 pound it is not as easy. Don't tell Genevieve that though!
Big cats don’t realize their own strength. I am glad there are people who take care of animals. I love the purr. The other is a jealous sort. Beautiful.

Cats are beautiful. What a lucky man to have interaction like this. We become better human beings when we connect with nature. People who love animals are always my favorites. Animals can teach you a lot about yourself.

If they had been raised out in the wilderness by their mother to be self-sufficient, they would be wild, but they were raised and fed by people. They could easily injure this man, but notice how careful they are not to do so? He's their daddy.

You are one lucky man. I have a tame 18-month-old feral kitty cat ... hates everyone but me. She just loves me to death ... follows me around like a little puppy dog. She's all gray and has hazel green eyes. She will climb my pants and shirt to get up to my shoulders too. Cats of all kinds are VERY SOCIAL creatures.

You can see yours are quite calm, good natured big cats... It is all in learning about reading their body langage which is similar to a domestic cat...
Yes, even their whiskers are pointed forward, which is a sign of "I like you" in domestic cats :)

Yeah they want off the cold ground I'm sure. Plus they want the babying & the attention. Hehe. My little MinPin generally does not like being on the ground or the floor if she can help it. Especially in the cold. I know a Cougar is a far cry from a little Minpin as far as species. But they're both animals...

I was seven years old when they brought a cougar into our classroom. I pet her just like she were a house cat. I also respected her and didn’t play too hard with her-she could have easily bitten my face off. I wonder if she had been sedated, and just how worried her handlers from the zoo might have been. Anyway, I feel privileged to be able to see and pet a mountain lion.

Amen! But God is so good He made sure it was at least possible for us to enjoy their companionship in the meantime, and the fact that we can even tame large predators at all is testament to how true Genesis is. Taming is just tapping into their true nature, which is where they long to be.

Wow, brave but loving. I'm from BC, Canada where cougars are common, especially in the north and on the islands. I've encountered a few while riding my motorcycle exploring logging roads and it absolutely raises the heartbeat in an instant. Interesting video, thanks for sharing.
Magnificent animals. We have around 6000+ in Oregon and people are getting all bent out of shape because hunting with dogs is prohibited and population increased. I have cougars around my house. People on the fringe where urban meets rural are seeing more cougars and panic. I love having them around.
I walked home in the dark for years from a friends house, in prime Cougar Country, never had an issue. Bunch of pansy people

I grew up on Vancouver island which has the highest concentration of cougars in North America per square mile did tons of camping never been bothered by them,

You know I watch these videos all the time and one thing comes to mind. Those animals are the definition of wild.They smell, see and taste the outdoors like we cannot. They act tame but with an underlying unease.
Cat's have never been domesticated in the same sense as dogs, and farm animals. Every cat I've ever owned does the exact same thing big cats do, they spray and claw in the house to mark their territory and the only reason they don't kill you when playing is their too small.
