Third one walks up like "Whatya all waiting for? Let's ring the bell and see if they'll give us some lunch." Poor babies. Glad that 2 of them made it to NC safely, and really sad the third one died.
I think they were too young to be afraid of much. I had actually walked outside to see where they went at one point, walked around a corner and almost ran right into them. They just stood there so I walked backwards back into my home. They were very young and still in the exploration phase of being a cub or kitten.
You were lucky. Usually the mother is nearby. Had a friend that worked trucking logs out of the forest nearby, and he spotted what looked like an orphan cub. Decided to stop and pickup the poor thing, and by the time he made it back to the truck with the cub, the mother showed up, and he said she was ticked beyond belief and wanted her cub back. I asked him why he did not toss the cub out of the truck, and he said he was afraid of opening even a window, because she was most definitely not afraid of the semi. They kept the cat for a little while until fish and game found out about it, and took the cat from them. Guess it eventually made it's way to the San Diego Zoo.
yeah, they were not being ''playful exploring kittens'. they were near death starving. chances are they have not eaten in weeks. some hunter probably shot and killed, hunted the mother, and left her cubs behind to die. when cub animals are close to dying, they are most likely not going to be 'playing and exploring'. they are going to be behaving very irrational, like 'coming out into sight where they will be killed by any passing predator'.
Laylla's Locker, it's not about animals adapting to civilization. When you see a huge object/thing, known or unknown, going your direction at high speed, making loud noises, I think it should be on some primitive instinctive level to feel the need to move away from its path.
The mountain lions are like “let’s go to the zoo, see there is Bob recording us, to the left you have Devorah cooking some steak, then you have little Jimmy playing with his legos”. “Momma told us to run away if they ever leave their cage”.
HELLO, thank you for rescuing these mother less Baby's". This is really unbelievable beautiful to watch this kind of Video.❤❤❤❤❤❤ Many Greetings from Germany
Well, if you get them as kittens you can kinda tame them. Not sure these are young enough to fully tame, but you could at least make them easier to handle I think.
@@marhawkman303 you can't feed them though, if keep on feeding wild predators then they'll eventually see you as food, the best thing to do is to just let them be and hope they come back to visit every once in a while.
Lol.... we don't initiate conversations with the magazines down here anymore tho. Recently we've been trying to increase our emphasis on the bible with less magazines... Even tho most everything they have is based on the bible.
john tohme - I bet they wouldn't. They do look awfully thin though. I would go out and feed them. Honestly, cougars are so much like housecats in behavior when they grow up around people, the only thing preventing their easy domestication is their size.
I bet you wouldn't risk it with your newborn 7 lb 3 oz baby girl on the way home from the hospital. I bet you wouldn't risk it James Martin. And that goes for you too Crusader1815
Orphans. I have a friend who feeds bobcats when they show up with their scrungy mom. She had no milk probably, given her low body weight. Mountain lions also may need a little help sometimes. Especially orphans.
@Chris Madison in certain cases yes they do need human help. We had a pair of foxes that were inexperienced hunters and the lack of prey items around made them get weak so we fed them daily when they came. The male got hunted down but the female gave birth to healthy cubs thanks to us. Altough interfering with nature is mostly not the right thing to do sometimes exceptions are made
You're not suppose to feed predators or any wild animal for that matter. Definitely not mountain lions. If you see signs at state parks stating not to feed bears or alligators or whatever the animal may be, it's for a reason. Once you feed them they will continue to approach humans looking for food. That's how people get attacked. I know most people think of these animals as cuddly pets, the fact is they can survive on their own and will attack at the drop of a dime.
@@butchvito In my friend's case,, the bobcat mom never came back after she got better. Well, she came once to show off her family but definitely left for good. My friend litetally saved her 3 babies from starvation.
@ProseColored Glasses how ignorant you are...thats why people think its ok to kill the beautiful wild animals that share THEIR world with us....with that attitude.. The arrogance of man is typical I would trust animals over human ones any day
ProseColored Glasses : By animal law it’s our territory because we can defend our claim... But it is also true that it is their home habitat and they cannot pack and move like humans. It is precisely because of that advantage that we owe it to our planet to not wreck what wilderness remains, we are the most adaptable and we should not abuse that advantage.

These mountain lions are only cubs, and to me they look at least 3 months old. They are too young to be away from their mother. But, I appreciate what these kind people did for these cubs, getting them to somewhere where they can get better, play and grow. It is sad that one died, but at least the others survived. And living in a sanctuary will be a great experience for them. Please leave a like if you agree.
Wow, they were starving. In Oregon where my dad lives, this same scenario happened to my brother when he moved into his new house. 2 young cubs/kittens younger than these 3 show up to his back door looking malnourished. He lured them with food and called his local warden. Turns out, there was 2 mother was lions killed in 2 different scenarios. 1 was killed by a farmer protecting his animals about 5 clicks north east of his location and the 2nd was killed by his neighbor who illegally killed the lion. Thank you for your video though!

The cats are really beautiful. Good to know they are being looked after. Sad about the one cat that didn't make it. Thank you for this interesting video.
I don't live in the United States but I understand that a grown up Mountain Lion is something that you don't want to run into while taking a walk in the forest, isn't that so?
You just need to be prepared. Mountain lions more often than not avoid humans so encountering them is rare. Why? They're petrified of us. Here are common solutions in escaping any injury: -Walk with at least one more person. They're less likely to display aggression or propensity for attack in non solitary groups -Don't run, as that gives into their instincts to chase -Exaggerate your appearance (stretch your arms out). Look menacing and larger. Usually they commence departing at this instance -Calmly shout (don't scream like you're Jamie Lee Curtis in "Halloween") -Avoid eye contact. Experts suggest that cougars interpret this as a dare, thus may pounce at you -Don't stand still...they may mistake you as prey as a result -Don't bend down. That makes you look like a four legged animal aka prey -Avoid getting close with them. Give a cougar that chance for escape. Most often, they'll take it and retreat -Walk backwards. If you expose your back to them, they may ambush you, given how they strike from behind -Ensure there are lights around you. They are less likely to come face to face with humans if something is illuminated -Trim any bushes so they can't hide. Often cougars conceal themselves behind obstructing features (tree, bush, sign, gate, etc.). By negating that opportunity, you face limited chance of encountering them They say you're a thousand times more likely to be struck by lightning than seeing a mountain lion. In the rare event it occurs, though, odds are they won't do anything since, again, humans scare them. Ideally you want to evade cougars in the even they're malnourished, ill or displaying habituating signs. In those instances, scaring them off usually is more difficult
They are so beautiful!!! Its true that in this age theyre in a "curious phase" where they can come quite close to humans without yet being fearful or careful. The same goes with wolves. Their "curious phase" happens when they are a bit older though, right before they're weaned off from their mother they will start to venture out on their own and its not uncommon that they go quite close to human structures. Im a vet myself and live in the Arctic on Svalbard's where I study the effects climate changes have on the wildlife (starving polar bears and arctic wolves) and I meet several groups of curious teenage wolves every season. A few times Ive even experienced them climbing up and looking in my windows. These cats are of course much too young to be on their own and its lovely to hear they were rescued and re-placed somewhere safe. Although 1 died from sedation shock thats still 2 out of 3 cubs surviving. That more than the average percentage of cubs in the wild.
They were defiantly in need of a meal. Poor things. Im glad they were rescued. I live in NC and wonder if they were sent to Grandfather mountain. That would be great.
Jesus look how thin they were, they must have been famished... I'm glad to hear they were taken care of, even if one of them didn't make it, it's always better than all three dying of starvation, as they most likely would have without your intervention, so thank you for them, and for the species :)
Great post. Sorry you lost one. I gave up hunting 35 years ago. More wildlife less people. Still run around with a camera:) never got a shot like this! Thanks for this post.
Id be the worst person in this situation because I'd let them inside and feed em, because they didn't have their mother and they looked thin. I couldn't bare just letting them stay out. Glad at least they were rescued, and 2 at least survived.
Something about these cubs look more adorable than menacing than a full-grown adult cougar. So adorable and what an experience to cherish forever. Thanks for the update in the comment thread as well!
They paid no attention to the turkeys in the driveway and the turkeys didn't seem scared, either. It always amazes me how much the big cats behave just like the little domestic variety we have as pets. Even tigers, the biggest of the big cats, act like little house cats at times.
yes, housecats have always kept their wild nature, however; they are perhaps the only animal that domesticated themselves, if abandoned they will return to their wild roots@@murphmurph2124

I doubt it, but I think you're the kind that would stand up and make a scene if the person behind you was chewing their popcorn too loud.
Who the fuck wouldn’t??? Your that annoying person aren’t you
I think they were too young to be afraid of much.
About as stupid and harmful as "rescuing" land turtles by throwing them in the ocean to drown. What an idiot.
Drue Stafford I wonder where mama was???
u shud of said ure friend STOLE!! a cub off its mother.
yeah, they were not being ''playful exploring kittens'. they were near death starving. chances are they have not eaten in weeks. some hunter probably shot and killed, hunted the mother, and left her cubs behind to die. when cub animals are close to dying, they are most likely not going to be 'playing and exploring'. they are going to be behaving very irrational, like 'coming out into sight where they will be killed by any passing predator'.
lol those turkeys at the end of the driveway are trying not to be noticed :P

Laylla's Locker, it's not about animals adapting to civilization. When you see a huge object/thing, known or unknown, going your direction at high speed, making loud noises, I think it should be on some primitive instinctive level to feel the need to move away from its path.
Thank you for helping them that's obviously why they came up to the house they were starving and scared.. bless you for helping

My brain: It's a dangerous predator! If you let it, you die!
Me: heehoo kitten
Well, if you get them as kittens you can kinda tame them. Not sure these are young enough to fully tame, but you could at least make them easier to handle I think.
@@marhawkman303 you can't feed them though, if keep on feeding wild predators then they'll eventually see you as food, the best thing to do is to just let them be and hope they come back to visit every once in a while.

I bet they'd kill a newborn baby given the chance
john tohme - I bet they wouldn't. They do look awfully thin though. I would go out and feed them. Honestly, cougars are so much like housecats in behavior when they grow up around people, the only thing preventing their easy domestication is their size.
Depends on how far their training went. If they haven't been hunt trained, they couldn't kill a mouse except by accident.
I bet you wouldn't risk it with your newborn 7 lb 3 oz baby girl on the way home from the hospital. I bet you wouldn't risk it James Martin. And that goes for you too Crusader1815
I'd worry more about communicable diseases than an attack. Prob wouldn't let anyone near my kid, especially animals I don't know.
Orphans.
I have a friend who feeds bobcats when they show up with their scrungy mom. She had no milk probably, given her low body weight.
Mountain lions also may need a little help sometimes. Especially orphans.
Thank you for doing it
@Chris Madison in certain cases yes they do need human help. We had a pair of foxes that were inexperienced hunters and the lack of prey items around made them get weak so we fed them daily when they came. The male got hunted down but the female gave birth to healthy cubs thanks to us. Altough interfering with nature is mostly not the right thing to do sometimes exceptions are made
Just a Random Boi You're a good person

They are absolutely adorable... I love watching Gods beautiful creatures!!
Where did you come across this information? I would like to hear or read the story! Thanks
no living in captivity is not a great experience for any wild animal, you have to be an idiot to believe or think such nonsense
And youd have to be drunk to think that starving to death due to lack of a mother would be better than a life in sanctuary. 😂
The guy who made world news killed a 3 month old mountain lion it was just confirmed
Better than starving for sure. Poor babies.
Thank you for the video. It was amazing. Shame one of them didn't make it. All the best from Scotland
Guy: look how thin they are, they must be hungry.
Birds in the back: must become rock
Wow, they were starving. In Oregon where my dad lives, this same scenario happened to my brother when he moved into his new house. 2 young cubs/kittens younger than these 3 show up to his back door looking malnourished. He lured them with food and called his local warden. Turns out, there was 2 mother was lions killed in 2 different scenarios. 1 was killed by a farmer protecting his animals about 5 clicks north east of his location and the 2nd was killed by his neighbor who illegally killed the lion. Thank you for your video though!
Sparx Figgy aka Monkey D. Sparx its so sad. The lions are coming down from the mountains because of wild game diminishing do to huntets and fires. Its really sad.
The cats are really beautiful. Good to know they are being looked after. Sad about the one cat that didn't make it. Thank you for this interesting video.
OMG, they’re the most beautiful creatures I’ve ever seen! You folks in the US are so lucky to have them! I wish we did in NZ!
I don't live in the United States but I understand that a grown up Mountain Lion is something that you don't want to run into while taking a walk in the forest, isn't that so?

"dared to go for a meal" I like your English better. You're welcome!
You just need to be prepared. Mountain lions more often than not avoid humans so encountering them is rare. Why? They're petrified of us. Here are common solutions in escaping any injury:
-Walk with at least one more person. They're less likely to display aggression or propensity for attack in non solitary groups
-Don't run, as that gives into their instincts to chase
-Exaggerate your appearance (stretch your arms out). Look menacing and larger. Usually they commence departing at this instance
-Calmly shout (don't scream like you're Jamie Lee Curtis in "Halloween")
-Avoid eye contact. Experts suggest that cougars interpret this as a dare, thus may pounce at you
-Don't stand still...they may mistake you as prey as a result
-Don't bend down. That makes you look like a four legged animal aka prey
-Avoid getting close with them. Give a cougar that chance for escape. Most often, they'll take it and retreat
-Walk backwards. If you expose your back to them, they may ambush you, given how they strike from behind
-Ensure there are lights around you. They are less likely to come face to face with humans if something is illuminated
-Trim any bushes so they can't hide. Often cougars conceal themselves behind obstructing features (tree, bush, sign, gate, etc.). By negating that opportunity, you face limited chance of encountering them
They say you're a thousand times more likely to be struck by lightning than seeing a mountain lion. In the rare event it occurs, though, odds are they won't do anything since, again, humans scare them. Ideally you want to evade cougars in the even they're malnourished, ill or displaying habituating signs. In those instances, scaring them off usually is more difficult
Never seem on in the wild. 35 years of picture taking.Peace.
Their mother was murdered & they were deliberately orphaned then became hungry & desperate. Some "rescue" ...

They paid no attention to the turkeys in the driveway and the turkeys didn't seem scared, either. It always amazes me how much the big cats behave just like the little domestic variety we have as pets. Even tigers, the biggest of the big cats, act like little house cats at times.
