    Never liked colouring wood but I have to say that is stunning. Absolutely beautiful bowl.

    I was inspired by your rich looking bowl. I took it one step further: after dye, I applied a coat of sanding sealer, and then applied JoSonja iridescent paint on top of the dye in little "splotches" in the bottom of the bowl and around the edges, to create the "BIG BANG" artistic look. Followed it with 20 coats of gloss lacquer. Fantastic.

    Terrific finish and Deft is my favorite as well. I first used Deft lacquer in 1962 and have used it since then. Back then it was all brush on so I would thin it to spray and bought it by the gallon. Today I buy the spray cans. Much easier.
