It’s a pine canker. Most people attempt to turn these making what you used as the bottom, the top. Soon they find what you found, that the center doesn’t really exist. U you made all the right choices in my opinion. Super job on a beautiful piece.
So glad you left the natural shape on the outside. I like seeing the more abstract shapes or natural curves. Keeps tthe eye moving looking at details. 😃
I love it. You kept what was unique about the wood, and turned into something practical. I'm a fan of live and natural edges. Most people would just turn the whole thing and make it a dime a dozen piece. This has got character.
That looks amazing, A added sanding step you might find works. Take the same tip for the Dremel, cut 6 pieces of 400 grit sand paper 1 1/2 squarish. Put a hole in the center of each, remove the screw, and put your sand paper in offsetting them, then tighten the screw. It makes a nice fine sanding paddle.
That come out beautiful and you did a wonderful job turning it!! I was hoping you would have done less for the outside of it though Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Helps when the piece already has a hole started! 😅 Are you able to reuse any of the wood pieces you glue on to put the main piece of wood in the chuck?
Two things: 1) Where was it "found"? Backyard? Forest? Wood pile? Left in the wood shed by a previous homeowner? 2) Why are the interior bottom and exterior bottom of the finished product never clearly and completely shown? I found it somewhat odd.

I love seeing videos where the outside of the project is hardly touched. This project is awesome.
That's art mate. Sticking a flower in it and selling it for 49.99 is fine but it could be in a gallery with a price tag of £400+
I appreciate that you left the natural esthetics of this piece.👏🏻😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁👏🏻😁
So happy you left it natural. Absolutely beautiful!
Fantastic! I like the golden colour!
As natural as possible- the most beautiful💕. Great job!👏🏼
Very nice looking! That natural outside makes the finished piece absolutely stunning...nicely done! 🖖🏿😎👍🏿
That is totally Beautiful!
Pine burls are interesting you can get them to pop! Beautiful job!
I bet turning that smelled amazing!!
Hi, it´s very cool that you left the natural outside shape!
Weird can be so wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Ich dachte erst,

Very nice! I like that natural finish!
You make it look so mesmerising easy to create something beautiful from an shape lump of wood.
That turned out really cute. I liked it.
Nice work! I would not have sanded the outside, however. But - to each his own. Kind regards.
Nice piece and nice job.
Nice! Thanks for this. 🙂

Took Something Odd And Made It Awesome 👍👌
Симпатичный горшочек.
Very beautiful.
This is when a man can look at this beautiful woodwork and say beautiful

Doomslayer Helmet?
My thoughts exactly

I love it. It almost looks like it could be Winnie the Pooh’s honey pot. ❤😊
This is so very beautiful. I would have kept it with nothing done to it. 🙂

Interesting. A self-hollowing burl - LOL.
Is it going to be used for a potty?
That weird piece of wood has a lot of character.
What about turning a bucket fill of crickets in resin?

The only thing they fear is you. *Doom music intensifies*
It would make a great bowl display walnuts and other nuts.
how long does a piece like this take to fashion?
Makes a nice soup bowl.
And here I'm wondering why you're dremeling the outside of it AND THEN you get out the brush and I know why lol
I was prepared to tell you it was an ugly waste of time, and then it turned out cool. Nice.
❤😅
Ma ap mau tanya beli alatny berapa mksih
Looks like a Panetone.
Wtf it looks like the doomguy helmet in the thumbnail 🤣
Thats doomguy helmet!
Inside is great, but extire should have been sand blasted with walnut powder or backing soda, not sanded with a Dremel. Bad choice. Sorry.
Weird
Head csanning ano may roon
Lost some of the finer aesthetic by sanding the outside.
Drywall screws? They are brittle, can't be trusted. You risk your life.
