      It looks that they learned a lot from their earlier designs like Type-87 and QBZ-03 as well as from the western assault rifles. The QBZ-191 and -192 looks like they combined the best features of the AR-15, AR-18 and the QBZ-03.

      5.8 DBP10 from a 21.9" = 71gr @3000fps

    The production process and surface treatment of 191 are much better than 95, and in the design process of the gun, in addition to firearms design experts, many professional shooters were invited to provide practical opinions. Therefore, the operation of the gun feels very good. I have used the training model of the gun, and the human-machine effect is very good. The keyhole was due to the use of rubber bullets.

      @@AVWUVU Okay yeah I can see that. When the bullet is soft like rubber the rifling strips the bullet making it tumble. Why do you practice with rubber bullets at the range though? I'm not being flippant with that question, just curious.

    • @AVWUVU
      @AVWUVU  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's for cqb training. Don't want bullets to ricochet or fragment at that range. If you see them shooting downrange with them though then it's most likely they just been through cqb training or is about too. There's a video on youtube showing what normal rounds look like going through targets and it doesn't keyhole.

Unlike a 7.62 which just goes straight through a body within 300 meters. 5.45, and 5.56 has greater range. Chinese 5.8 probably does the same as 5.56 NATO, and Russian 5.45.

      The new guns also use the new bullet DBP191 which haves better ballistics than the older ammo. The new gun is built around the new bullet. But otherwise, I do not believe the 6.8 will replace all standard weapons in the US. The 6.8 and the 5.56 imo would be used in tangent with each other. If the new 6.8 round does make the old intermediate round irrelevant then they will just make a new semi-battle rifle round.

      AR 15 or HK416 or AK are definitely user- and mechanical-friendly designed. Why should we ignore them? why don't we advance them? We do have to build everything over again if we don't take advantage of previous innovations.

      AR 15 is a good rifle, you add 60 years of innovations and improvements to it, everyone is gonna have something similar to it one way or the other. Global standardization through lessons learned.

      Must be a typo. You meant to say AR18? I've personally held plenty of modern rifles that have little to do with an AR15 action (G36, Tavor, RDB, SIG 550, XCR). Only "copies" I see adopted really is the M27/HK416. I have yet to get my hands on a M5.
      As others have wrote, I think this new QBZ-191 takes inspiration from the SIG 550. Not a bad thing. I'd prefer something that doesn't require rock in mags or a right side charging handle, but I'm naturally biased to the M4 ergonomics for obvious reasons.
      I actually have quite a bit of respect for Chinese firearms. I used to own a Norinco MAC-90, basically a civilian Type 56 imported before the ban. I used to bring it to the range and show the troops it. I could still qualify on the 50-300m Army popup targets with it, just to prove to the new guys that someone with a Type 56 should not be underestimated.

      LOL who’s copying? Most of today’s modern rifles are designed using the AR-18 gas system. The HK G36, HK 416, FN F2000, FN-SCAR, Steyr AUG, CZ 805 BREN and BREN 2, Norinco QBZ-95, Daewoo K1, HOWA Type 89, SAR-88, T-91 and British SA80:
      all designed after the AR-18
