From field testing, the gap hasn't shown any issues. As for the full auto function, it's still an assault rifle with a longer barrel so it will be using same parts. It's still a DMR and won't be replacing the machine gun role but it can move into that role if needed.

It's to prevent snagging but a left sided charging handle is available.
@@AVWUVU having it on the right side just adds more steps to the reloading process. Keeping it on the left like an HK sub machine gun lets you keep the muzzle on target when you charge the handle with your off hand
That depends on army doctrine and what they see fit. There are benefits to both so it's up to the user to decide.
