Geekbench scores don't define real performance clearly of it is 2 to 3x fast I never observed that kind of lag in any instance or daily usage. If hardware values define performance the pixel has additional cores and frequency. Clear winner in that senses
Regarding the Battery, both being similar, I'd give the point to iPhone due to Magsafe, it really opens up an assortment of accessories, without needing a case. Agreed on the others.
the tensor G3 has enough lag in normal tasks to the point that it actually feels somewhat slower than the iphone 16 or the s24(by a long shot) in normal use. like let's be honest here, charging 799 for a phone with similar performance to Samsung's a55 is a crime in itself edit: wrote itone instead of iPhone
If the base iPhone 16 had a 120Hz refresh rate, most people would likely opt for it over the Pro or Pro Max models. The base model is already a flagship device at a reasonable price (which drops over time), but the 60Hz refresh rate is a letdown. It seems like Apple deliberately leaves out the higher refresh rate to push users toward the more expensive models with base model for more price sensitive consumers.
The cameras on the iPhone make it the winner for me. Most reliable camera for content creators. Second, iOS is always more reliable than Android. The apps run better. The phone never crashes on me no matter what I do with it. I do feel everyone's pain on that refresh rate though. It does make a difference. I just can't compromise reliability.
I disagree, iphone video slightly better than iphone, the rest are just equal or pixel better afterall it's the still photography king of smartphones. Using pixel 7a, never seen it crashing
People are brainwashed by Apple. Android in 2010 used to crash, modern Android is really amazing. I've had an iPhone for work and Android for personal for the last 4 years and I find Android more user friendly and way better value for money.
What a video!!! After Marquess maybe you are the one I would watch, just for the sake of watching the video and not for the value in the content - because your videos look so good!!!
@1:58 there's no good reason for 60Hz? Well, by default Pixel 9 is at 60Hz so even Google felt saving battery was important. Speaking of money grabs there's no reason for Google to follow Apple other than greed.
yes i agree that even google kept the display to 60hz by default, but the screen has the option for 120hz for those who wish to enjoy that fast display. A point worth considering!
Keyword: default. You can set your refresh rate to a lower value on any device worth it's salt. Apple skimped on the hardware here to make a buck by exploiting people who wouldn't notice until they bought it, blindly trusting the brand.
If i wanna use or not, Google gives me the option to choose between 60 and 120 hz. My Asus Zenfone 9, has three options , 60, 90 and 120 hz and is 2 years old.😊
I think this is the first phone that can retain its resell value like iPhones. This phone is awesome, benchmarks don't do it justice. To be frank, they shouldn't matter for 95% of people. I only wish developers focused on android on pixels as well for in app camera/video performance
Had a pixel for 2 years. The best thing is the software, clean and uselful all around. But what trumps it is the hardware. Pixels just heat for everyday tasks, the battery degrades faster in the long run as a result, the call reception is poor. It seems that Google needs to move back to Snapdragon direly.
I love the design of the regular iPhone 16. But that phone lacks a lot of features that the Pro models offer. I'm fine with the camera quality not being as good as the Pro models, but still giving a 60 Hz display, the absence of the telephoto lens, and the more limited features aren't acceptable considering this phone is only a tad cheaper than the Pro models. I mean, look at brands like Samsung and Vivo. They still give the best, flagship-grade features to their regular flagship models - 120 Hz display, 3 cameras, unlimited access to all the flagship features, etc. Apple needs to step up their game by not gatekeeping all the features for the Pro models because their regular models are already expensive.
Love the review. And most definitely the pixel is a much nicer phone this year. Google did a really great job to the point where I've seen many switch from an iPhone to a pixel
I own a mac because no other PC hardware in the market comes even close to it. But I will never buy an iPhone because of it. Pixel phones does everything better and cheaper.
@nazishamber6443 Android phones really are the best at stealing your personal information, you made a good choice genius. Save money and be cheap and give your peronal information to Google, that's another smart choice.
iPhone 16 Pro actually feels smooth rather than base 16, just because of thr higher refresh rate, for that only I would prefer it over any Android smartphone out there. Right now its Pixel 9 for me
Yep iPhone 15 won’t get the updates so I’m switching really feel let down by Apple - who in there right mind would invest in a iPhone 16 only to find out next year that the phone will not support all update - Tim Cook is the new wizard of oz as he stands there and say this is the best iPhone EVER then goes behind the curtain and starts rubbing is hands and says suckers fill my pockets- well sorry not anymore.
Nothing new. They did the same when they release night photos with the iPhone 12, where the previous flagship didn’t get it. My Pixel 3a took much better photos than my friends’s 1 year old £1000+ iPhone.
Apple could easily introduce 90hz refresh to the base models and call it “improved” motion so as to not step on the Pro’s toes. This way it’s better than what it was, but still not as good as “Pro” motion.
Where are my Android people? Leave a comment on what phone you got. I'll go first. I'm still using Google 6 pro which is now running Android 15 My next phone will definitely be a Google nine pro
Yeah, trusting Google, an advertising company, with you personal information is not something any person with a double digit IQ would do. Sorry iPhone wins if you care about privacy.
I dont understand, iphone has the same identical design for the 4th generation. It still has the giant blob in the centre top of the screen and apple has not made any effort to actually improve the design vs. google's improvement over the generations of pixel releases. The regular iphone doesn't even have material advantage as it's aluminium as opposed to titanium on the pros, which would at least offer some advantage. The camera setup on regular iphones this year is not even as original as it was before, it more resembles some of the midrange chinese phones on the market from honor with the two bulging eyes. Please explain your infatuation with 4th gen identical apple design?
as someone who has been with android for years, and willingly switched froim a 120hz phone to a 60hz iphone, i much rather have the 60hz iphone,. No it may not be as smooth of a refreshrate, but that doesnt matter if the software cant even keep that 120fps consitent. Apples software is specifically made to make the 60hz look smoother than it is, its not an issue. the biggest concern is battery, and the pixel loses by a long shot
Reviewers be like they would say every point in favour of pixel but when it comes to which is better, iPhone has slightly has edge over pixel. What a non-sense ! Pixel 9 is way ahead of the iPhone 16 in every aspect.

Its not off by default, in fact pixels screen has ltpo technology which is even more efficient than regular 60hz
Have you used Pixel 9 to shoot your vlog video?
the tensor G3 has enough lag in normal tasks to the point that it actually feels somewhat slower than the iphone 16 or the s24(by a long shot) in normal use. like let's be honest here, charging 799 for a phone with similar performance to Samsung's a55 is a crime in itself
edit: wrote itone instead of iPhone
How is wobbling on the table always being mentioned? How do you use your phone tho?
It's used as a time filler it's corny since most people use cases anyway.
For sound quality on video recording which you prefer because I've always go to see concert then record or even record my own band on the go😊
Go ahead bro 🎉
Can’t decide between these two, honestly, I'll pick based on which phone case I can find more easily
If you decide to go for the Google Pixel, Burga has some nice case options
@@MeganBelton1 looked them up and they have cases for both of them?? so good luck choosing I guess 🤣
Pro is locked at 80-90hz stupid
@orbit did you face any heating issues or call reception issue with the pixel?
The cameras on the iPhone make it the winner for me. Most reliable camera for content creators. Second, iOS is always more reliable than Android. The apps run better. The phone never crashes on me no matter what I do with it. I do feel everyone's pain on that refresh rate though. It does make a difference. I just can't compromise reliability.
I disagree, iphone video slightly better than iphone, the rest are just equal or pixel better afterall it's the still photography king of smartphones. Using pixel 7a, never seen it crashing
Stop living in the past bro, most flagship android wouldn't crash on you, dead that thought going forward..
Apple fan boy
People are brainwashed by Apple. Android in 2010 used to crash, modern Android is really amazing. I've had an iPhone for work and Android for personal for the last 4 years and I find Android more user friendly and way better value for money.
Great video as always, but is Gemini not Genimi ☺️🤪
What a video!!!
After Marquess maybe you are the one I would watch, just for the sake of watching the video and not for the value in the content - because your videos look so good!!!
Pixel has been killing it lately. I'm still rocking my pixel 7 ❤
What a gem of a chaneel
Finally I found a genuine review.
😍👍
1-iPhone
2-samsung
3-pixel
4-redmi note
@1:58 there's no good reason for 60Hz? Well, by default Pixel 9 is at 60Hz so even Google felt saving battery was important. Speaking of money grabs there's no reason for Google to follow Apple other than greed.
yes i agree that even google kept the display to 60hz by default, but the screen has the option for 120hz for those who wish to enjoy that fast display. A point worth considering!
choosing between options and making do with what you have are two completely different things man
Keyword: default.
My Asus Zenfone 9, has three options , 60, 90 and 120 hz and is 2 years old.😊
2:04 well said brother
The Pixel 9 in Mint is so gorgeous!
You forgot to mention the performance gains on iPhone. Big difference maker when comparing optimisation and multitasking or let’s say gaming.
I really wish Pixel 9 got a blue color. I got the wintergreen bc it was the closest thing 😢
legit
2:09 60Hz is a deal breaker😂😂😂
You get 80-90hz locked on iPhone pro
I think this is the first phone that can retain its resell value like iPhones. This phone is awesome, benchmarks don't do it justice. To be frank, they shouldn't matter for 95% of people. I only wish developers focused on android on pixels as well for in app camera/video performance
Lovely videos Matt, I’m definitely looking up to buy the iPhone 17. I’m on 12 Mini now and I just wish Apple throws in an iPhone 17 Mini again.
What's your gear?
And what about the microphone above the camera lens?
Your colour selection very good ❤ brother
Had a pixel for 2 years. The best thing is the software, clean and uselful all around. But what trumps it is the hardware. Pixels just heat for everyday tasks, the battery degrades faster in the long run as a result, the call reception is poor. It seems that Google needs to move back to Snapdragon direly.
The pixel 9 series got a new modem
*#Pixel** ftw.*
1st Background song Trenton uses on GTA V Rp 😂
iPhone 16 Pro actually feels smooth rather than base 16, just because of thr higher refresh rate, for that only I would prefer it over any Android smartphone out there. Right now its Pixel 9 for me
Staying in 60hz in iPhone non-pro variants are always the deal breaker.
Cry baby please give me 120hz joke
We are iPhone 16, but just in pixel 9 ... And the competition is wild
iPhone 16 design is what I'd pick but because of its 60hz screen with chubby pill punch hole aka dynamic island made the Pixel 9 the winner for me.
I can feel the pain, I was also felt the same with my iPhone 14 Pro max.
Nothing new. They did the same when they release night photos with the iPhone 12, where the previous flagship didn’t get it.
My Pixel 3a took much better photos than my friends’s 1 year old £1000+ iPhone.
But... Pixels also don't receive new features when the next iteration comes.
@@ruyvengcan say the same with Apple as the 15 can’t get all the new features
@@steve-ey4ol I know, I only wanted to say both companies reserve their newest "selling features" for newest models.
Are you playing rat on a scooter at 3:36 😭i thought that game was no longer available?????
Apple could easily introduce 90hz refresh to the base models and call it “improved” motion so as to not step on the Pro’s toes.
This way it’s better than what it was, but still not as good as “Pro” motion.
5:11 You can have circle to search in iphone by backtap
Rocking my pixel 8 since last year. It's too good at AI and the camera is what I need
iPhone 17 $999
iPhone 17 PRO $1299
iPhone 17 PRO MAX $1599
iPhone SE 4 $699
Where are my Android people? Leave a comment on what phone you got. I'll go first. I'm still using Google 6 pro which is now running Android 15 My next phone will definitely be a Google nine pro
Yeah, trusting Google, an advertising company, with you personal information is not something any person with a double digit IQ would do. Sorry iPhone wins if you care about privacy.
When will these TH-camrs start including panorama mode on their reviews?
Because no one cares
Two beautiful phones ❤
60 hz itself is the deal breaker.
Pixel 9 clearly wins , better cameras and bettery life and Slightly better display
Gemini ❌ Genimi ✅
The only thing that could have saved the iphone was if they allowed ProRes and ProRaw. Otherwise it has absolutely no chance against the Pixel.
I can’t tell the difference between 60hz and 120hz
as someone who has been with android for years, and willingly switched froim a 120hz phone to a 60hz iphone, i much rather have the 60hz iphone,. No it may not be as smooth of a refreshrate, but that doesnt matter if the software cant even keep that 120fps consitent. Apples software is specifically made to make the 60hz look smoother than it is, its not an issue. the biggest concern is battery, and the pixel loses by a long shot
Love it or hate it the tensor chip is garbage. in future should google use TSMC chips they might do good
Reviewers be like they would say every point in favour of pixel but when it comes to which is better, iPhone has slightly has edge over pixel. What a non-sense !
Pixel 9 is way ahead of the iPhone 16 in every aspect.
The A1 is a technically better processor, Android is a technically better OS. The iPhone is overpriced. Both companies OBJECTIVELY suck. But something else.
Can you turn the camera button on the iPhone16 off? Its annoying
what about the performance part?
Actually it’s Gemini. You mistakenly called it Genimi quite a few times
Team Pixel!
I would happily compare with a 15pro on a good deal and win.
