This was one of the best comparison videos I've seen thank you. I'm coming from the iPhone Pro 15 max to the pixel 9 pro xl. I've had the opposite experience with camera focus, the pixel pro is super snappy and even the face unlock is instant for me before I even fully turn the phone over. I thought it was broken until I disguised my face and tried again lol.
My Pixel 7a unlocks incredibly fast and when I glance at it on my desk to check notifications, it unlocks. Both Apple and Pixel phones use similar face unlock technology that constantly rescans your face. This often leads reviewers to prefer the system they're already used to, whether it's on an Apple or Android device. This is because the face scanning technology makes itself more accurate and faster the more you use it. (and obviously they are comparing to the phone they use the most)

I'm curious to know why you replaced your iPhone 15 pro with a Pixel 9 instead of a Pixel 9 pro for a fair comparison. Why did you choose the colourful variant with another colourful case as well instead of their muted colours? It seems like you were surprised by how colourful it all came about
This is a very nicely done comparison - probably the best I've seen so far regarding new pixel phones. Now I am waiting for pixel 9pro to iPhone 16pro direct comparison (after systems upgrade)
Because the non pro pixel has 120hz and a lot of people which uses iPhone Pro would by the regular one if Apple release all lineup with this feature, beyond another point is the price difference for the delivered quality
This is spot on! I used an iPhone for a bit but switched to Android for almost the exact reasons you stated! As for the storage if you back up to Google Photos you can delete off your phone and you will have zero issues Also to be noted I found face Id to be annoying! It opened my phone even when I didn't want to. Plus on Android you can keep your phone unlocked when connected to trusted devices. This means when you are in your car it's always unlocked. When you are hooked up to your headphones and working out you don't have to think about unlocking it! It's like magic!
I've been using the iPhone XR for five years, and with Apple's upgrades this year, I thought it might be worth the switch. But after seeing the reviews for the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, the Pixel seems like a better choice, especially given the price. I don't see much difference between the Pro and the standard version, aside from the extra camera, so I'm leaning towards the Pixel 9.
I recommend waiting like 1 or 2 months because google is known for their massive deals. Pixel 9 pro price will go down and although its more expensive, much of the pixel's magic happens with google cloud, and you get one year of free 2 tb of google cloud storage and ai premium with pixel 9 pro. (It's a great deal and pixel is all about ai so...)
I went to the stores on Monday to have a feel of the phones. The pro versions screen is way superior to the non pro version, deeper blacks and everything looks great. You need to hold them side by side to see this. The non pro is also cute, but when placed side by side, you will notice the difference especially in dark mode. I was so impressed that I came back home and ordered the pixel 9 pro XL.
@@superdinosaur1419But then he won't get the same trade in deals because they are usually trash after pre-orders, and he won't get the $200 bonus plus cash back if he's with Google one
Some tips from a Pixel user since the 6 pro. If you can buy direct from Google. I trade up every year during the pre-sale. Once you ever do the first time purchase I usually get good trade in value every year! They are giving me $700 for my pixel 8 pro along with a $200 credit in the google store that i will use to trade up my watch 2 to the watch 3. When I return my watch they will give me another $220 store credit for the watch that I will use to purchase the new google ear buds. So for around $500 total I am getting all of the new 2024 upgrades! I plan on doing the same thing next year as long as google keeps the great trade in value and nice google store credits. I would go with the 256 version. I do have an ipad along with several other tablets by Samsung and Lenovo as well as a PC. Goodluck!

An interesting color choice between the pink phone and the pastel green case. Its a bit like this Google exclusive green red color people thought would come out with the Pixel 8 Pro. But sadly it was just rumors after all.
Great video! My only criticism is that you compared a Pixel 9 to an iPhone 15 Pro. For things such as the screen and camera Pixel 9 Pro would have been a better comparison.
How's the Heat Issue? I've got the Pixel 8 and it heats up pretty bad. Tried all the recommended ways but still the Tensor chip might not be as optimized as Snapdragon.
Pixel Software update are meant to be slower. Their updates (Android / Security Updates) keep downloading in the background and keep installing at the same time. Once the update is complete, you just need to wait for just a normal phone reboot for the changes to take effect. While on other android phones, the updates get downloaded and extracted, although they get installed during phone reboot which needs you to wait for a longer time as you won't be able to use your phone during the same. So Pixel software updates are slower and yet much better than other android brands out there.
Subscribed your channel after seeing this video. I immediately liked you clean and simple style, the way of explaining things, taking the right perspectives. Thanks a lot! Hope to see more videos like this.
I would like to see this comparison once Apple Intelligence actually comes out. Also, it would be nice to see a video like this from someone who has never used an Android to see how easy/hard the transition would be. Let’s be honest, most Tech TH-camrs are familiar with both so the transition is not as jarring as it would be for a regular person.
Hey, while I love the review I do have a question - you did the review of Pixel 9 only, right? not Pixel 9 Pro as you call it couple times? Also you are calling it a flagship and comparing to iphone 15 pro, so I am a little confused. Pixel flagship would be the Pro models, right? The Pixel 9 is the lowest model available.
I just recently switched over from the S23 Ultra to the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and I have to say it's been a great move. It's a fun phone to use and one thing I like is the screen is not curved unlike the S23 Ultra. Of course like any other phone I do have to get use to functions of the phone but that's not a big issue. With 7 years of updates I don't think I need to worry about a new phone for awhile.
3:17 I cannot agree more. When people compare shots taken by different phones, everyone will have a different preference because of post processing so while camera quality on the hardware is a big consideration, post processing is as good consideration to take and could be very subjective.
Nice review. Best photos are always a personal choice between the two and always have been. Will be interesting to see same comparison against upcoming iphone and how you feel a week after they are out and their big AI upgrade.
Good review 👍🏻💪🏻💯 I liked it. You should have got the peony color case for the Pixel and Pixel has face recognition. Not as good as iPhone’s but good except in low light. Keep up the good work.
Great video and really well shot. You kept saying Pixel 9 Pro when that's a base Pixel 9, also the iPhone 15 Pro starts at 128 GB as well, I'm not familiar with your videos but did you put that as a gripe for the iPhone 15 Pro as well?
I really enjoyed the video. Thinking about getting pixel 9 for my mother. Also can you share the link for the wallpaper used in iphone when u were comparing battery capacity ?
The fingerprint sensor is not always on, isn't it? MKBHD mentioned that you have to press the power button before the sensor can detect our fingerprints. Another option is to activate the always on display.
Coming from the iphone 14 pm, the pixel 9 pro xl is incredible. I personally think you should have went for the pro model since you were coming from a pro model. The vapor chamber is significant for power users which maybe you aren't but just a thought.
As a person who usually shoots with mirrorless cameras, I would definitely pick the Pixel camera. The photos looked so natural. Iphone photos looked so much more processed...
The 4a is legendary. I had to switch back to it last week (my Pixel 8 had to be RMA'd) and it didn't change my life much at all. I can't believe how smooth the experience still is on that phone.
I am an Iphone user myself, and have a secondary phone for travel and media. Traded in the samsung 23 FE and for 230 off the pixel 9 and now that will be my secondary phone!
Question: I haven’t seen anyone cover this yet, but do you HAVE to press button to activate Gemini as a voice assistant or can you use your voice to evoke/wake Gemini?
For me, I have a google pixel 5 and I am thinking of upgrading -- not sure if I want to stick with OS or switch to iOS. However, the pixel 5 also has a storage of 128. This has never really been a problem for me though -- especially when I'm using the camera -- all of my photos and videos automatically back up to Google Photos.
I have the pixel 8. I've had Samsung and apple flagships, why is it anytime a new flagship comes out the previous one gets glitchy? Even when I don't do the new update
Best thing about the pixel phones is they are always getting better. Not only do they update them every month which they will eventually give the camera updates, but the more photos you take the better it will get. The machine learning will just keep getting better the more photos you take. They always seem to get better and better throughout the year.
📸 Which photos are nicer: iPhone or Pixel?

Pixel Software update are meant to be slower. Their updates (Android / Security Updates) keep downloading in the background and keep installing at the same time. Once the update is complete, you just need to wait for just a normal phone reboot for the changes to take effect.
While on other android phones, the updates get downloaded and extracted, although they get installed during phone reboot which needs you to wait for a longer time as you won't be able to use your phone during the same.
So Pixel software updates are slower and yet much better than other android brands out there.
I always wondered why they took so long. Thanks
Beautiful Shots, love it!
5:40 really dig that "Still Hot" song!
Also, what an awesome review! Very thorough! 😃
This guy gives the best review ever
Subscribed your channel after seeing this video. I immediately liked you clean and simple style, the way of explaining things, taking the right perspectives. Thanks a lot! Hope to see more videos like this.
This is perfectly comparison !!
The Pixel 9 is the lowest model available.
what I actually did is ask Gemini which of the phones is the flagship and yes - it's the Pro options ;)
Yeah, I would have wished for clarification too.
Compared to an iPhone pro a standard pixel is flagship.
When people compare shots taken by different phones, everyone will have a different preference because of post processing so while camera quality on the hardware is a big consideration, post processing is as good consideration to take and could be very subjective.
man, I've had an iPhone for 10 years and this is the first Android phone I'm thinking of replacing. It's great!
How is it with thermal management? Previous pixels have been HOT!!
How was your experience with Google Messages and RCS?
Love the neon theme with the phone color and case color
wow, did you take those photos in Wollongong?
The phone/case colour combination is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Finally something new from a reviewer. Love the video
How did you replace the standard date/weather widget from the top left? From what I understand, you can't delete it?
This is a very good review! Well done!
Where did you get the case from for your Google Pixel 9?
Beautiful review and comparisons the Pixel 9 seems like a really great device
Nice review. Best photos are always a personal choice between the two and always have been. Will be interesting to see same comparison against upcoming iphone and how you feel a week after they are out and their big AI upgrade.
Good review 👍🏻💪🏻💯 I liked it. You should have got the peony color case for the Pixel and Pixel has face recognition. Not as good as iPhone’s but good except in low light. Keep up the good work.
may i ask if your case is from the google store?
I liked this for the thumbnail ✨ and subbed for the video ❤
Great review , I switched from iPhone last year to Pixel 8 and face I'd is the only thing I miss
How did you transfers the data? Using a lightning to USB-C?
I had the Pixel 7 pro and the heating issue were a nightmare. How’s it this year with the Pixel 9?
as an iphone user, this is the first non-iphone option i’m considering. Im tired of apple’s laziness. Plus this new Pixel looks sweeeeeet
So do you daily the pixel phone or back to the iPhone ?
Do you have to pay a subscription for the AI on the Pixel?
Great video and really well shot. You kept saying Pixel 9 Pro when that's a base Pixel 9, also the iPhone 15 Pro starts at 128 GB as well, I'm not familiar with your videos but did you put that as a gripe for the iPhone 15 Pro as well?
15 pro starts at 256gb
@@wrathulglint52the iPhone 15 Pro MAX starts at 256gb.
The regular iPhone 15 pro starts at 128gb.
I been quietly digging the pink color.
Watching from my Pixel 6a ❤
I really enjoyed the video. Thinking about getting pixel 9 for my mother.
Also can you share the link for the wallpaper used in iphone when u were comparing battery capacity ?
How was your messaging experience between iPhone and android
question : are you able to view all the data such as video, photos, documents, pdfs after the transfer?
Awesome review
Cosmo and Wanda so happy about this review.
The fingerprint sensor is not always on, isn't it? MKBHD mentioned that you have to press the power button before the sensor can detect our fingerprints. Another option is to activate the always on display.
It turns on when you pick up the phone
11:52 Face ID unlocks before picking up iphone?? Other than that great review.
yes
certain angles work, I just tried it when he said it. I had to pick my phone up a few times as well though
I think it was iOS 16 or 17 when an update was pushed out for the FaceID phones to unlock while the phone is in landscape.
Excellent review! Now sub’d 🇬🇧
Perfect review,ThankU...........
This is the best pixel 9 review so far compare to other youtuber out there. I love it very much ❤❤❤
Good review and comparison. If I see or hear a biased preference over one phone or the other, I stop watching. Good job, thanks. 👍🏻
Coming from the iphone 14 pm, the pixel 9 pro xl is incredible. I personally think you should have went for the pro model since you were coming from a pro model. The vapor chamber is significant for power users which maybe you aren't but just a thought.
11:01 Pixel 9 start with 128GB shouldn't be an option... but iPhone 15 start with 128GB is OK?
As a person who usually shoots with mirrorless cameras, I would definitely pick the Pixel camera. The photos looked so natural. Iphone photos looked so much more processed...
dope review
I'm gonna stick with my Pixel 4a until next year. I plan to get the 10 Pro XL and I can't wait!!
Quality of video is super and i like the atmosphere inside video and pics
Question: I haven’t seen anyone cover this yet, but do you HAVE to press button to activate Gemini as a voice assistant or can you use your voice to evoke/wake Gemini?
You can do both
For me, I have a google pixel 5 and I am thinking of upgrading -- not sure if I want to stick with OS or switch to iOS. However, the pixel 5 also has a storage of 128. This has never really been a problem for me though -- especially when I'm using the camera -- all of my photos and videos automatically back up to Google Photos.
Well, hate to be the one telling you that, but pixel 5 was the last one with unlimited google storage
Is it smaller than the pixel 6? Need to upgrade soon
Wasn't expecting the Pixel to have the less saturated pictires.
I have the pixel 8. I've had Samsung and apple flagships, why is it anytime a new flagship comes out the previous one gets glitchy? Even when I don't do the new update
What camera did you use? So clear
seriously well done video and review 👏 I was camp phone 2
Considering switching, I just wish some videos would show how the gallery exporting works. I have 44k pics / videos in iCloud
Best thing about the pixel phones is they are always getting better. Not only do they update them every month which they will eventually give the camera updates, but the more photos you take the better it will get. The machine learning will just keep getting better the more photos you take. They always seem to get better and better throughout the year.
