Biology teacher here: The wrist band is measuring the change in electrical current running through your muscles/moto neurons, as the name says Electromyographie. Not your tendons, They don't carry any charge. Otherwise: solid video! :D

Not to count EMG captures the data by inserting a couple of fine copper needles about 6mm deep into your muscles (that means the needles need to traverse all skin layers to reach the muscle). Ouch! And to get a reasonable map you need to use at least data from 12 points from each limb. It is a modern torture technique called EMG.

This would make driving much safer, assuming that the visuals are predictable and not intrusive. Any time you need to take your eyes off the road to look at your GPS or dash is a significant increase in risk. Imagine seeing an arrow hovering over the exact spot you are supposed to turn, or having a line overlaid on the road that shows exactly where you should go.
Cars could start transmitting ECU data over Bluetooth for these kinds of devices so you could see things like speed, fuel/charge, and alerts etc so you would never need to take your eyes off the road.
Of course all this only makes sense if self driving cars haven't become totally prevalent by then. Either way, the future is looking pretty neat.

Being able to have things like labels pop up and track in real life or a real life ctrl+f that can highlight things in your vision, or overlayed arrows on the road for gps are the types of things I really want to see. I think this is the great thing about new tech; rising tides raise all ships. It might be sold because it's cool tech that people think is fun to use, but once it's selling, it'll be useful in medicine (imagine in home doctor visits where they can review the medical data collected by your writsband/watch and help you get better without having to take up room in a hospital/doctor's office) prosthetics like you mentioned are going to be almost indistinguishable from the real thing as we get better and more naturally moving robotics combined with this writst band technology that measures brain waves, and imagine what it could do for our social lives. Getting to be in the room with your loved ones/friends when you don't have the money/time for long term travel will be great. If you've ever used VRChat or similar apps, you already know how powerful it can be. In 20 minutes, you forget you're all a bunch of cartoon characters and it feels like you're talking to real people, because you are! With AR tech, that'll be 10x better, where you share a real space like your own house and your friends/ family can walk around with you, hang out together, play board games, watch movies, even make dinner together so that by the end you're eating the same thing because you made it by watching each other! It could be amazing.

the productivity savings that ai brings, that could be easily compounded by an even bigger time savings with some 3d representation of code built on top of deep code analysis.
edit: btw i've done years of software dev, including at one of the biggest tech companies in the world and on a product that, if it went down globally, would cost the world billions per hour and possibly countless lives as well. about the only thing we couldn't be used for is the most safety-critical systems like 911, but we were used by many isps and even major broadcasters for mission-critical signaling.

Take the idea to ground level, and the use case is much less niche. You know, why would you not want to see monuments and buildings named when you walk around? Or have a mode to find cool architecture, art pieces, murals... Sometimes art is hiding in gateways, or public indoor spaces, or 15 meters up on a wall.

I like the idea of a developer showing off their progress on something they haven't decided to ship to the public yet. Think of all the projects that got cancelled mid production (star wars battlefront 3 for an example off the top of my head) and you hear about them years later wishing they were a thing that continued. At least now you'll hear about it while it's happening so you have a chance to voice it is something that is wanted.

I think people need to start realizing that pretty much anything screen/tech related we do without context, looks goofy-- Like, you don't look cool Sitting down playing Xbox and staring at a box, and you don't look cool looking at your phone into nothing-- Nothing looks THAT cool without context, and that's why imo we really shouldn't worry about "Awh we look goofy using these!" So much all the time-- It's just funny to me that this is even still a worry.

I've been obsessed and collecting HMDs, both VR and AR gear for two decades now. I've not tried any of these new AR glasses but when I got my Magic Leap One, I was immediately blown away by it's ability to project a razor sharp, deeply saturated image on a thin transparent lens. No big clumsy headsets with reflectors like the Meta (not Facebook) or Dream 4k (incidentally which are both fully stand-alone AND with HDMI in -- can't we have headsets we can just plug into a Bluray player?!) We don't need awkward overhanging prisms like Google Glass or Vufine, just embed a projector in the frame and reflect off the screen.
Still, AI tech is the key to any of this working! I'm serious! Neural networks for low-latency camera tracking so overlays stay fixed on top of what the user is seeing directly through the lens. Neural networks for voice commands, object segmentation & identification (minicpm--v is an outstanding vision model -- it doesn't just describe what it's seeing but will often give you a history lesson - and only 5.5GB), and so many others. The near future is exciting and I plan to buy ALL the tech!
