With Super Mario 3D All Stars bringing back a lot of nostalgic love for Super Mario 64, I thought we'd tackle something that's never been seen before in the game. Every copy of Mario 64 is personalized of course, and in this copy we are fighting all 9 bosses at the same time. This is honestly one of the most difficult challenges I've done in this game and it took a while to learn the route!

Big Mr. I is the best boss hands down.
To be honest in a Mario Party game there was a minigame where you have to "fight" Mr. I, and it can be considered as a boss in my opinion.
So I agree, Mr. I is a boss.

I love how the bosses were never meant to interact but their AI makes them work incredibly well together
They have different speeds and attack typically in different ways is why.

Lol, if you really wanted to torture yourself, you could have made it Bowser from Bowser in the Sky who takes 3 hits and can unleash shockwaves and blue fire that crawls across the ground.
Or have every different version of Bowser appear at the same time as a separate boss.

I know Kaze basically did the minimum of what he needed to do to make the video work (and make a cool arena) but I hoped that the stars would each go to the sky to make a formation with Bowser's giant star in the center of them.

At the time it was made, I don't even know if that was possible.
@@MishKoz It wasn't. Only Kaze and Skelux have the talent to make this work in the game and Kaizo 64 came out during a time when nether knew the game beyond it's limits. Skelux was around but wasn't the SM64 god he is now. Kaze wasn't even in the community yet when Kaizo 64 dropped.

For people wondering why the explosion looks like Mr. I, the game has a limited number of slots for loading objects and sprites are counted as individual objects so my guess is that the bosses were already taking all the space and there were no slots left to call for the explosion sprites so they just programmed it to call for Mr. I's sprites instead.
Or, the object bowser explosion is not in the level and is not loaded

I love how the bosses and their attacks correlate with each other so well
I wonder what happens if you swap the bosses locations.
For example fighting (edited) Big Boo where you fight the Ice Bully.
And fighting Bowser where you fight Wiggler.

If I had to guess, the sprites for mr I were in the place where the exploding particles would be so it loads mr I parts instead.
They did mention ram limitations so maybe Mr. I Takes up the slot that calls for the explosion Sprite that can't fit anymore since the boss is taking that slot of memory

Apart from bosses jumping into the lava without dying this actually looks very fun, I’d definitely play this if I had the means of doing so.
Technically, you *CAN* attack Wiggler near an edge, without having him jump off the arena, as long as he is facing to the right direction.
I could see this being a potential competition on who can defeat all of the bosses the fastest

I was just thinking that. Would be wild to see someone do a Plutonia style Super Mario 64 (complete with the textures and all), where you just use the enemies in the smartest and meanest ways against the player, but without going into full Kaizo territory.
Now i want to see someone beating all of them in chaos edition or as fast as possible

He's close to King Bob-Omb at all times, and he's the first and only boss who gives us a clue on how to defeat Bowser. The two of them were a couple!!

I like how every boss had a different attribute in the fight. The bullys are aggressive but very small. Whomp is gigantic but slow. Wiggler is very fast but very inaccurate. Bowser stays back and shoots long ranged fire. Whilst king bomb omb protects him. Mr eye is weak but has very high range and can't be conveniently killed. big boo was stealthy and aggressive. And Eyerock has lots of health and can push you around

When I read the title I instantly thought, this won't go well. I meant it from a technical perspective, since I knewtthe regular N64 specs wouldn't be able to handle this. When you said that the game itself prevented it I knew I was definitely right.
The result of this technical experiment was chaos as expected. I wouldn't want to do this.

@@TheBallWithTheShield perfect example being Pokemon 🤣 up to like. Gen 4 or maybe 5 all you hear people say was the game was too difficult in a very tiny spot or whatever. So now you're stuck with the most recent game auto healing your pokemon 37 times throughout the bare minimum to the credits. Gen 2 only had two auto heals. With one of them being after the credits roll

@@TylerJ0412 well then after he does main bosses. There should be a round 2 of mario 64 then zelda, all mini bosses. The super hard and rare enemies + basically bosses, so things like the chain chomp

Love this boss battle royal! Would adore to see a DK64 version of this if that was somehow humanly possible, I don't know if King Kut Out would make that difficult to implement, but would be cool.
I don't see how you'd be able to do that considering that flying dragon thing has to be knocked down in the lava around the edge of his arena. You'd just die after hitting cut out k-rool once. Also what about final boss k-rool? It's required to load different maps for that. Inside the shoe and out, that might be the breaking point loading the huge mass of enemies a couple times

I had a sad realization just now. I have played Super Mario 64 countless times and beat it plenty times but somehow I've never encountered eyerok to my recollection.

Any chance you can upload the actual fight not chopped up? I love the deep dive into how you handled the fight, but without actually seeing the fight, it sounds impressive, but we don't see anything impressive actually happening.
Just imagine a Mario game with all those bosses surrounding you, easy mode is they all take one hit, the bullies get knocked back farther then usual, you only need one ring around mr.eye, and both kings need one toss, but normal is them regularly and bowser can shake the stage, but expert.... let’s just say Mario won’t be making it out with a perfect 3 lives

Lot of moments, notably Whomp King's failed cheap shot, would be sick as hell when animated.
I find it pleasing how of all the bosses Wriggler is genuinely the most innocent and thereby stays alive in normal form after all is said and done.

Omg, I love this idea so much! It's awesome how there's actually so much strategy to which boss you should take down in what order. Keeping Bowser alive to snag the coins from his fire for health, trying to separate him and King Bobomb, etc. Awesome idea here!
Also, the fact that little Wiggler stays around 😂😂
It's amazing how 1v1 they're easy, but 1 vs all is extremely difficult
Now do all 3 versions of Bowser at once.
But you also combine Bowser Arena 2 (the moving one) and Bowser Arena 3 (becomes a star shape after Final Bowser's 2nd hit)
Let's be honest, he left out chain chomp because he was scared.
