My current CEO fooled me. He was so forthcoming, friendly and non-demanding when I was hired 4½ months ago, like "almost too good to be true". He works in the H.Q. in another part of town. Things at the job went well, but this week he went on vacation and sent me an email on Monday, firing me. Excuse given: Poor profits in the department. He didn't even have the guts to say it to my face. He had turned his phone off, so I couldn't give him a call... In hindsight, I wish he had just been an cowardly a**hole from the beginning.
@@JJ_TheGreat The CEO I work(ed) for is only in his late 30s, I think. I don't know what cruel practices they teach in business school nowadays, but he turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing.
52 years of living has taught me most people don't handle power well. They turn into sadistic freaks who use their position to make your life miserable. Most of the time.
I've started picking up sadism in the work place I'm in. I was getting a bit caught up in trying to understand that & realized that's wasting my energy because it's not going to change them. They are going to continue to be that way & no amount of trying to understand their behavior is going to change it. It's very disorganized & chaotic the more I have tried to be organized & do the job I'm suppose to do the more interference I'm getting then I'm being gaslit with belittling as if I can't do the job when I know I'm very capable of doing whatever job I'm suppose to do as long as there is no interfence. I started looking up toxic work videos due to how bad this has gotten. A coworker interfered with me finishing a job I was doing yesterday acted like a total jerk then (he's the pet btw) tried explaining it away & twice he said to me "I didn't mean to make you feel inferior" but here's the thing he didn't make me feel inferior that didn't even enter my mind at all the only thing that entered my mind is he needed to start on the job he needed to do & leave me to finish my job & not come into it like a bull in a China shop which is exactly what he did. The fact he said what he said about inferior twice I came to the conclusion he's projecting his stuff on to me. I flat out told him both times no one has the power where I work to make me feel inferior. They don't because my eyes have been opened to exactly what I'm working with which is why I started looking up videos of toxic work environments. I'm a very logical person & I have a 2 yr degree in psychology therefore I try to understand things from a logical rational common sense way.
My bully of a manager does this daily. I have to go and I know this but the gaslighting and horrible treatment have damaged me into a ack of self confidence
@@wldncrzy1971 just tell them to shove it and walk. U'll find another job. Look at firing these days, it's common and the screwed up unethical bosses think nothing of it. I've seen coworkers crying because they have been placed in the pressure cooker. Never cry over the pressure cooker. Hold ur head high and quit.
@@sergiothespanishnightmare6727 Turnover is when people constantly quit jobs at a higher rate and the position needs to be filled at an outgoing rate.🥺🥺
When your teammates are there for you it's easier to deal with a boss, the worst is when you are alone and there is no one to turn to just like what others said.
My best advice to anybody who has a manager like this is to leave as quick as possible. There will be somebody who appreciates you as an employee. I was tempted to write a letter of my experience working there to corporate but decided not to. How she treated me directly shows what kind of person she is.
A toxic boss will usually talk down to you telling you you did a "very poor job" while a boss with better leadership will give you constructive feedback and motivate you to do better with minimal oversight, unlike a toxic boss will micromanage you and shadow your work even out in front in public.
I feel like my boss wants me to fail. I beg and beg for opportunities, when she finally agrees to give me the opportunity I’m given no training or support to do the role effectively. She then says I’m not good enough and takes the new roles off me even though I ask for support. I need to leave my job
Watching this made me feel like you were with me at my previous job. I was badly onboarded with no training and given the impression that I was doing well when I had my one-on-ones with my at the time supervisor. When it came time to review with the MD & head of finance, she tore into me about how unhappy she's been with my performance and feels that I'm a poor fit for the job. The MD told me that they ''can live without'' me and my presentation skills and months later, reduced 3k off my salary. The best part is when I submitted my notice, the MD suddenly decided I'm brilliant and wanted to keep me on the team with a better offer. I'm working in a healthier work-from-home job and slowly regaining my confidence. Things can get better and often do.
May I add: *They would compare you with another coworker (which, of course, you are always be the bad guy). *They treat other coworkers nicely and kind, but treat you like crap, trash, or dirt.
You are very right. I think part of the reason is that they are extremely manipulative, most of the time the top management doesn't know what kind of bullies they are.
@@myemmotion I do think that top management do know, ofc they know, they are clever otherwise they won't be top leaders in their field. I think they play dumb as they are other aspect of business they need to take care of
@@lemaxx2638 You might be right. During my experience with a toxic manager, the top management wasn't aware of it. But then again, they did nothing once this issue was brought up by the whole department. So you are right, they are playing dumb when eventually the business will suffer and that "inaction" will bite them in the back!
@@myemmotion Probably because these managers go home and feel powerless over their own children or family situation. So they polish their egos at work and lash out at their employees. Or maybe they are exactly the same at home, managing a very unhappy family and their partners cheating on them.
@@rose_yts I agree that the reason behind such horrible attitude usually lies among their own insecurities. Whether it's a lack of certain professional qualities or having troubles/difficulties in their personal lives, but these people tend to be really unhappy/insecure.
Hello, thank you for the video, I didn't see this video until after I quit my job, but I realised that my boss was toxic after about 18 months into a Job. After I watched this video I checked off the 7 items listed. I did exactly what you said, once I realised I managed to find another job. He displayed 1-7 on the money. Thank you for the video i'm now more reassured it wasn't me. 🙂 I'm now in a new job and my managers are much better. However I still have nightmares about my former boss.
My boss yesterday literally said, “This is a simple task that anyone at any skill level can do.” And these comments were building up. Yesterday I quit.
I finally got myself out of job with a toxic boss. Nothing I did made him happy, he was always right. He needed to involved in every task that I did to improve our network and if i didnt or excluded him from an email it wasn't good. Times I spoke out a about problems with our LTE network I was told to be quit or why didn't I come to him first. I began to think I wasn't good enough or didn't know what I was doing. I was able to prove to myself I was good enough and found others shared my frustrations. In the end I stop caring about my work because nothing I did was good enough to him. Thanks for making this video.
Paul, you can't believe how well I understand you. How long did you work with that boss for? And when did you manage to get out? Things start improving drastically as soon as one is not constantly torn apart by such managers.
I started this job back in September of 2020. I was the third person to take on this position within the last 6 months. The person I replaced was still there while I transitioned. Her remaining days she seemed to not care and always got tense or avoided contact with our boss. I didn't know why at the time but soon found out. So many red flags but I am glad to finish my last day tomorrow and start my new job on Monday with Verizon.
@@paulbindert2426 Wow, the previous person's attitude was definitely alarming. And the 3rd person in 6 months just says it all. I wish such places stopped existing.
That's happens to me this year, at a big it organisation. A manager in her 40 s child free, no husband, no boyfriend, just a dog. She was horrible with me, subtle belittling. I had to take one week off due to mental breakdown. Once I get back ti work she told me " here we get rid of bad apples ". I was speechless. How you can you say that to another human that just went through a mental breakdown. But at the end I am leaving and the good news she got her karma, she just got diagnosed with a breast cancer
I work with two toxic bosses at my job. We can never keep any employees because they think that they can talk to people any type of way. We haven't had a full crew at my job in over 5 years because of them and you would think that the higher ups would get rid of them but it never happens. I am in the process of finding another place of work because I am no longer happy here and I want a piece of mind
Your description was my last boss to a tee. It has been difficult for me. I was a top performer and the our company restructured everything. Now I am struggling and have been put on a PIP. I am interviewing with other companies, but this season has really taken a toll on me.
I can definitely relate to what you are saying. Keep it in mind that this is temporary, put all your strength together to go through this situation. If your boss is as negative as described, the PIP outcome won't be positive. Hope things turn for better for you very soon. Best of luck and keep me updated!
How long did you work there for? I hope this is going to be a lesson for the shop owner, you can't treat people like that, especially in front of customers or peers. It isn't hard to give a constructive feedback and help someone when they are not aware of how to do something.
@@myemmotion Just a year in a half. & you are right! Sometimes I would be sitting outside on my break & a few customers told me that I should quit because I don't deserve that.
Your boss can also make your work life unbearable and be abusive and even swear at you but if you just tried to stand up to yourself if you just said one thing back to defend yourself they will say do their best to turn everyone against you and even try to fire you. You can’t talk back to toxic managers.
I did multiple times as I was on the verge of a meltdown if I didn't. It was a temporary fix as the asshole didn't change but learned that if they shoved too hard, they'd be shoved back. Until you leave, you need some way to maintain your self. Constantly swallowing your pride in my opinion just makes you the regular target. Fighting back at least shows that it won't be so easy.
You're right. I quit my job a month ago for that reason. She wouldn't allow me to do my job in peace for like 78% of the time. Yelled at me in front of other employees and get this: it was over something that another employee didn't complete on their shift the night before!! And you can't fight back, actually. They'll know, like you said that it will be harder for them to shove you when they know you'll shove back, but if upper management gets involved they will always side with the bully and label you the office troublemaker, never fails
My boss fits all of these signs. He also assumes that the employees are in the wrong and jumps to conclusions without asking a single question. He doesn't support the employees & has their back.
He doesn't support the employees because all he cares about is himself. Typical selfish and toxic behavior. How long have you worked in the company for?
@@myemmotion very much so! I've been in this office since Oct of last year. I work in HR placement & recruitment. I started to already notice subtle orange/red flags in Nov and it started to escalate more as the months went on.
@@sugarandspice2136 Noticing the red flags after a month means you've been able to analyze the position constructively. It's not like when we want to quit on the first day. What about your colleagues? Are they supportive? Is it a good environment to be in? If the answer is "no" then it's time to start searching for the plan B.
For many years I worked in a company who let their staff get on with their jobs. Then came along a new manager, who micromanaged all staff, they became unhappy, deskilled, and unmotivated and worst of all fearful.
That is so unfair to employees who gave so many years of their lives working hard. This new person comes and ruins everything and when the best employees leave the company it can never be something positive for the company owners.
You and I have discussed this in the past here. The same person has proven to be every single sign you have mentioned here. I have walked out of the job. It took a lot of thought. And it began affecting my mental and physical health. And I couldn’t do anything right in her eyes.
The kind of emotional manipulation we experience due to such toxic people eventually gets to us, no matter how strong we feel we are, our health still gets affected. So don't be sorry about anything, you've done the right thing. It's time to work on recovering your self-confidence completely. You are a very valuable professional and you'll definitely get that right and healthy environment to work at very soon!
As you said, whenever he comes to work, the atmosphere goes from relaxed to tense. It's like all the air is being sucked out of the room and we are all expecting his attacks, and people are holding their breath because we can be attacked and belittled at any time. This happens every single time. This job has great benefits and I am making money, but is it really worth it in the end???
It’s like micromanaging is their only way of feeling good. I knew my boss was a micromanager but didn’t relate other things to it. But he is toxic and rude and they were the indicators too. Thank you for posting this video.
You described my current boss exactly with every singe point. He has lost so many good workers in only 6 months. He keeps exaggerating and making stuff up. He said the other day I was half the day slacking off in the toilet. When I literally had one toilet break in a day and it was less than a one minute!
Were those 2 toxic bosses in different companies? Things stop being enjoyable at work and it's such a shame. The worst part is when it gets to you further and starts affecting your well being. Thanks for sharing your story with me!
@@myemmotion Yes, different companies. Both jobs I started out getting hired by an excellent long term boss. Each one ran his respective company for over 20 years. In each case the the salesman waiting in the wings took over when the original boss retired. Both of the new bosses changed the culture from within and made not only the employees miserable, but also chased away customers.
Your claims are one and all right. There is one thing I would add: after some time these very toxic managers causing the constant rotation of good workers might be fired too because the nonstop rotation of workers makes the company less productive.
My boss said to me. " Sometimes it is better to just take the blame rather than argue your point". He was blaming me for something his own idiot son did. His favorite employee also talks down to me and all I do is work really damn hard and finish jobs as quickly as possible.
I think almost all of these qualities fit my manager. I can't stand him him and hate working the same days as him. He sucks the life out of the place and I wish I never had to work there. Thank you for this video and for your help!
all the signs you mention of a toxic boss fit perfectly to my current manager. every bit of it, seriously.. sometimes i wonder when will a bad karma show up.
Thank you so much Marat. Your video saved me from becoming crazy because of my toxic boss. I spotted all the signs on her and I started to suffer mental health and lack of ambitions and motivation although i was known to be always in love with my design job. I confronted her and resigned. Now she's calling because the company needs me and now she realized what big loss she's done to her company. Now the decision is mine whether to get back to work or not.
Shalom. I am working with a toxic manager right now. All the points shared in this video describes the manager clearly. The question is what to do about her? I have talked with HR and found out HR IS NOT MY FRIEND!
Thank you, this is the second video of yours I’ve seen. I’ve subscribed and liked. I’ve found it very useful.. and glad that it’s not me/the company’s employees that’s experiencing this alone… it’s the toxic managers
Omg after watching this I’m so scared. I work for a C level executive and everything you said reminds me of him. I had enough the other day and was about to quit my job but instead I called and confronted him.
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!!! 🛎️ Just about all of the points you mentioned describe my current situation. It’s time to move on from my current job it seems. Thank you for the insight.
Hi, Marat. Thanks for another great video!! I wanted to update you on my work situation, which involved being bullied by my boss because I spoke out against violence and discrimination in the workplace. I was actually in the process of leaving Korea and moving to China over the issue. And I had a job lined up in China and was teaching for that university online last year. I couldn't move to China last year because of the Coronavirus. Anyway, in February, while dreading going back to that toxic work environment, out of the blue, two weeks before the semester started, we got an email from our boss saying he was leaving!! I can't tell you how relieved I was. He's gone...along with the other bullies, who left before he did. For the first time in years, I'm actually happy to be working where I am. And there are other ways in which my job is getting better. As for the new boss, he's a colleague, so I know him. But I don't really know him. Either way having a new boss is like getting a new job without leaving!! And regarding that Chinese university job, when I told the hiring manager that I didn't want to move to China during the Coronavirus and be stuck in quarantine for 3 weeks, I never heard back from her. No, "I understand. That's okay. Thank you for teaching online for us." Nothing. That's a red flag. So, I guess I dodged a bullet with that job. So, somehow, things worked out in the end, and I'm still here at my university and things are looking up! :) Thank you for your support and encouragement on this issue. Cheers.
Hi Jeff, I absolutely loved reading your update. It's incredible how much our lives can change due certain unforeseen circumstances. Sometimes all the bits of the puzzle fall into place and thing work out the best possible way. One thing which I found very interesting is what you said about "having a new boss is like having a new job." So much truth in it, it's something that changes everything completely. I am really glad for you Jeff, I know that everything will keep getting better. Thanks a lot for stopping by and for such a great update!
No way!!! everything you mention on this topic is really exactly my boss now. thank you for this i definitely have to do smth about it but dunno how to quit :(
Back then, when I was reporting to a manager, there was no employee who worked for him, for more than a year. He didn't know why people were leaving(or may be he knew that and he was pretending). One day, he was bullying a colleague, in front of others and I asked another colleague, why he was bullying like that. Unfortunately, she turned out to be his spy. She told that manager, then he used to bully him separately. Not sure what happened to that colleague(who got bullied), one day, his ID was de-activated suddenly. Everyday seemed like a "circus". He had all the 7 signs that you mentioned.. 😊 I was recording each and every conversation we had(without him knowing). One fine day, all of us(except that spy) resigned, at once. We gave a really strong feedback explaining how toxic he was.
Not to make this into a diagnosis section, but do you think they have B cluster disabilities A.k.a. antisocial personality disorder. Also connecting to NPD😊
My boss is what I would consider a high functioning alcoholic but undergoes personality changes where one day he's thanking you profusely for working overtime and the next day gets irritated at every little thing you do.
I had a managing director at work who micromanages and never delegates responsibility to his team. He has to get involved in everything and makes it like he is better than everyone including myself and I work as a mechanical engineer. I got involved in projects which made millions of dollars and complains that some project that I got involved with was under budgeted by a few thousand dollars. He never sees the bigger picture in business and always try to save some money on small things.
my boss hired me not long ago and he keeps actively looking for another employee right in front of me when there isnt any free places.and i know he tries to find another person to replace me because the other employee is his favorite.i have no other options and i need money urgently so i just go with it but honestly i feel like i dont even want to try
I was ASKED when not looking yet for a job (just remarried and moved back to an area I lived in 9 years ago) , asked by a friend for 10 years in a public setting in front of 20 others from church if I wanted a job. I was told all about it at the table during a women's dinner with mutual friends. Hired on the spot the next day. I loved the job I was doing and got along well with my co workers. This friend/boss told me day one that she "has a short fuse and is a control freak" and we laughed. I mean, we've been friends for 10+ years. She made work miserable. One day she might talk to me as a friend and we would laugh the next day or maybe even later that day she would stare at me with cole black eyes because I said something, didn't say something, accidently interrupted (even though she looked at me to acknowledge my presence and I thought it was ok) Small office. Only 4 people. Another employee who was there not long before me could say or do the same exact things and it was PERFECT. I never knew if I was getting Jekyll or Hyde from one day to the next. I often went home and cried to my husband and he wanted me to quit. I wouldn't because we were in community service and I had already fallen in love with my clients and coworkers and because I didn't want to let this "friend" down. One morning during a training (all 3 of us employees) she pulled me aside and fired me. "it's not working out". I asked why. I was shocked because as far as my work, I was doing everything I was supposed to, and she occasionally even said (to one other employee who told me) that I was doing everything well. I walked on eggshells, and working hard. I asked again, (with a smile on my face) if she could tell me why she was letting me go. She said "it's just not a good fit." Which tells me it's simply that she didn't like me as much as she thought she did. I'm 51 years old and have NEVER been fired from a job. Now I have to go to church Sunday and see her and try to remain gracious toward this woman. She's toxic. My husband was loving and kind and honestly glad. Glad for me to be away from her and her toxicity.

I had this happen to me. I was out of the workforce for 2 years with a neck injury. When I went back to work, I had what seemed like the best boss. Then, she abruptly changed when I started working on a project with her and told her I had a disability. She turned into Satan! LITERALLY Overnight!! She would constantly nitpick at me for my looks, my "perfect body" and my work, belittle me in meetings, undermine me, have my coworkers check up on me, and gossip about me. She alienated me. She gaslighted me, telling me I made mistakes on literally everything I turned in, but would never let me correct them or even see them. She would look at work on the shared drive that wasn't even finished yet and say I made mistakes when she knew it wasn't done yet and she would scold me for it as if I had turned it in with errors and finish it as if she was making corrections. I literally began doubting my sanity because she was telling me I screwed up everything I did and it was simple stuff! I would check stuff OVER AND OVER before I turned it in and knew there was no way I made mistakes but still, she found mistakes. I began doubting my sanity. I saw 2 doctors and got put on meds for depression and brain fog because I thought something was wrong with me. Later, when I was finally away from her and had mental clarify, I realized it was all a lie. Then, her abuse escalated to her yelling at me. She would yell at me on the phone, in her office, and even at my desk in front of my coworkers while getting in my personal space inches from me, and physically intimidating me. She would point in my face and lean over me. I was in fear of my safety every day. I reported her for harassment because she only started this after I told her I had a disability. Before that, I was a "Rockstar". well, apparently HR started building a case against me. She started systematically taking away my job duties. HR did nothing to her even though I had witnesses. They told me the investigation resulted in them finding out I was rude and aggressive!! NEVER!! I was afraid of her. I never raised my voice to her, not once. I always responded very calmly to her and never reacted to her because she was crazy and I thought she would snap, and I didn't want to lose my job. The harassment and abuse only got worse. She told me my disability would affect my merit increase. She made me document all my daily tasks to "make sure you're using your time wisely". I was ridiculed over my physical limitations in meetings and by my coworkers. She yelled at me over my ADA accommodations. I was left out of department activities. HR did nothing. I was eventually fired - retaliation. I was told "It didn't work out" after 10 months of working there. She said, "I tried". They offered me a severance!!! You don't offer a severance when you fire someone or even lay them off after only 10 months of employment! Needless to say, I am suing them! I hope she gets fired! She traumatized me. I cried every day. Toxic bosses are horrible. I will never work in an office and feel safe again. I have never in my life heard of someone treating a coworker or employee this way and I am honestly afraid to go back to work but I have to because the EEOC requires it. I am seeing a therapist to help me deal with the social anxiety because I am about to start a new job and I am honestly frightened. Is this how people act now? There are so many videos and articles about this out there. What has happened to society?? Thank you so much for this video. At least I know I'm not alone.
Wow i can relate to this, my last manager is what i call an egotist, It got to the point where he wasnt giving me proper information to do my job correctly, i started asking questions and it resulted in him chasing me through the shop and chest bumping me as like he wanted to physicaly fight me, i was like wtf, we went to HR i was told to go home, so i did, was told i would get a phone call the next day, i did, it was HR saying i was laid off, all this because of an toxic manager egotist, its obvious he was threatened by me.
My ex-manager tried to double team me multiple times by including her boss, the regional manager, my shift lead, and EIC's in her "complaints". No one ever responded. When the manager disrespected me again for no good reason using the same method, I dropped the bomb. Everyone on the team knew I had it prepared.
I think there's a massive difference between "toxic" and "bad". Mine is bad, he can't be bothered to manage but wants the pay that goes with it ... so he's totally absent when there's the slightest problem. The rest of the time he jumps on the interesting work and leaves the boring stuff (90% of work) to the underlings. A person can cope most of the time with this, but as time goes by it eventually undermines you, you brown out, then you're starting to want to stay home and anxiety takes over. I agree that it's all about knowing HOW to leave, this is hard as it's all about self-confidence, you have to keep that and you have to leave before they've chipped it away. Believe in yourself, these people lean on comptetant people, as they want the job done don't they?
Treat Your employees with respect in return for the respect you get in order not to cost the company it's business. This addresses the Bitchy Toxic Bosses.
I have had many jobs, and therefore many bosses. All the things you mention I have encountered, sometimes all the traits on *one* boss: "I am always right" ─Check✅ "You are never good enough" ─Check ✅ "Micromanagement" ─Check ✅ "No constructive feedback" ─Check ✅ "Put you down in front of others" ─Check ✅ "Boss bullying" ─Check ✅ "Culture of fear" ─Check ✅ All signs of someone who should *not* be a manager.
Marat you reminded me of my previous boss. He was a toxic person. He used these phrases: that I can do the job with or even without you; If you quit my company you are not going to find someone to hire you; Once I asked him for scissors to cut something. He shouted at me. He was so nervous He thought that he knows every thing about my major. He lied to me when he said "I'm gonna help you to grow up" but he left me in the middle of a dark tunnel.
I had that experience on my first job since whenever I asked my performance manager for tips and feedback, she never showed me how she organized things. She consistently cut one on meetings with me short and told me to find it out myself. In addition, she didn’t warn me about potential development areas throughout the year until the year end performance review where she threatened me with a pip only showing the negatives no matter how big or small or complicated or simple they are. Do you have any idea of how toxic people are usually last long in the workplace?
I know this is an older video. But I still feel I need to comment. My toxic boss has done every single one of these things and she's only been there less than a week!
My boss told me “When you do not have experience handling these things please discuss. Especially in your case discuss anything you get with me because I think the ability to think holistically on things is not there.” Is this toxic behaviour ? These comments are very often.

Definitely! There are some people who know how to play that game VERY well - because they've been doing it long enough.
Very true
Wow.... I can see this. Money and power truly magnifies one's character.
Very true. They become insecure. And this is often low and mid level management
Some not all.
Micromanaging is the main reason for high employee turnover.....
It's one of the most annoying ways of getting people give up their jobs.
I don't get it very well, what is turnover ?(I'm learning English)
@@sergiothespanishnightmare6727
Turnover is when people constantly quit jobs at a higher rate and the position needs to be filled at an outgoing rate.🥺🥺
When your teammates are there for you it's easier to deal with a boss, the worst is when you are alone and there is no one to turn to just like what others said.
That’s completely right. A lot of times one doesn’t get supported by anyone.
This is my current situation. All teammates are licking manager ass and no one see the red flags.
@@lemaxx2638 they only care about themselves, coworkers don't care for anyone else
So true.
When everyone is a traitor
My best advice to anybody who has a manager like this is to leave as quick as possible. There will be somebody who appreciates you as an employee. I was tempted to write a letter of my experience working there to corporate but decided not to. How she treated me directly shows what kind of person she is.
Absolutely!
100% the damaging effect of toxic management isnt worth your time wasted. The company will be a write of until they are removed.
Sure, when you are young and at the begining of your career. Much more difficult when you are approaching retirement and you get a new toxic boss.
A toxic boss will usually talk down to you telling you you did a "very poor job" while a boss with better leadership will give you constructive feedback and motivate you to do better with minimal oversight, unlike a toxic boss will micromanage you and shadow your work even out in front in public.
A bad boss is literary the top reason for leaving exactly as you say.I had a boss who needed to read every email I was sending. So obsessed and crazy.
That's indeed mental.
Yup...PREACH..
Tip m'y boss is like that
I feel like my boss wants me to fail. I beg and beg for opportunities, when she finally agrees to give me the opportunity I’m given no training or support to do the role effectively. She then says I’m not good enough and takes the new roles off me even though I ask for support. I need to leave my job
This is happening to me currently. Did you end up leaving?
Oh yes you do.
Micromanager & bully that's who my manager was. Great video and perfect timing too
Thank you very much!
May I add:
*They would compare you with another coworker (which, of course, you are always be the bad guy).
*They treat other coworkers nicely and kind, but treat you like crap, trash, or dirt.
Oh yes well they are doing why can't you
It’s amazing how people like this can actually become “leaders”….

You are so welcome! Sacrificing your health is not worth it. I hope you find a nice new role in a healthy environment!

how r u now
Very well put and explained. Why is it hard for some people to treat others with respect? Seriously, it isn't hard.
I completely agree with you. And thanks!
They do it due to insecurity and to have a sense of control over others in my opinion
Some of it is lack of home training. It starts at home.
Deep unhealed emotional trauma.

My boss said : "Here you're not allowed to talk, I'm the only one who talk " today I quit
Good for you
Good for you guys!
I am so happy to hear that you got away from that freak.
Yep! Same with me! No matter how hard I worked, it was never good enough so I quit working my hardest. Oh well!
She’s reaping what she’s sown.
Yeah, toxic bosses eventually get their comeuppance.
Whether it's getting fired or possibly dying from an illness. The latter is always better 🤣
Yep these toxic criminally minded scumbags deserve the worst the universe can give.
I work with that nothing was ever good enough attitude
Ditto...
Yelling and embarrsing me in front of customers was the worst for me. 🙄 my last day was Saturday. Thank GOD I didn't quit my main income!
@@Ashleyn3483 Wow, even customers were quick enough to notice his awful behavior and empathize with you. What a weight off your shoulders!

Your boss can also make your work life unbearable and be abusive and even swear at you but if you just tried to stand up to yourself if you just said one thing back to defend yourself they will say do their best to turn everyone against you and even try to fire you. You can’t talk back to toxic managers.
I agree with you about not talking back to them, because eventually you are going to be the one to blame.
Oh my ex boss used to ask me questions I give the answer, then it was nope your lying etc
It's something that each person needs to decide for themselves. You already know my opinion :)
It’s like micromanaging is their only way of feeling good. I knew my boss was a micromanager but didn’t relate other things to it. But he is toxic and rude and they were the indicators too. Thank you for posting this video.
Yes that’s what keeps them alive
You are very welcome!
You described my current boss exactly with every singe point. He has lost so many good workers in only 6 months. He keeps exaggerating and making stuff up. He said the other day I was half the day slacking off in the toilet. When I literally had one toilet break in a day and it was less than a one minute!
That's quite awful, I hope you manage to get out of there soon.
I’ve had 2 toxic bosses and 1 toxic coworker. Some worse than others, but all make work worse than it has to be.
Thanks for opening my eyes after 10 years of dealing with this neurotic behavior...❤

Spot on
Thank you very much!
😊
I was recording each and every conversation we had(without him knowing).
One fine day, all of us(except that spy) resigned, at once. We gave a really strong feedback explaining how toxic he was.
I recommend regularly reading the 48 Laws of Power and Machiavelli's Prince; both are basically the psycopathic toxic boss's manual.
Not to make this into a diagnosis section, but do you think they have B cluster disabilities A.k.a. antisocial personality disorder. Also connecting to NPD😊
Your video explains it so well as if you were with me yesterday night and last few years.
the worst is that there is no one to turn to, no way of getting out of this hell
That is the sad part of it. Suffering in silence. Fortunately nothing is forever!

Thank you for not demanding that I smash the like button.

One day she might talk to me as a friend and we would laugh the next day or maybe even later that day she would stare at me with cole black eyes because I said something, didn't say something, accidently interrupted (even though she looked at me to acknowledge my presence and I thought it was ok)
Small office.

Got one of these. Painful as this appears to be an institutional problem.
Reported to me HR with lies and when called out, then played the victim role
Thank you!
You are welcome! How long have you been under such management? Hope you can get out of there soon!
Spot on !!!
Believe in yourself, these people lean on comptetant people, as they want the job done don't they?
love this
I am glad you do! Thanks!
Loved this
Thank you!
Treat Your employees with respect in return for the respect you get in order not to cost the company it's business. This addresses the Bitchy Toxic Bosses.
I think this eventually becomes an issue for a company. Once the turnover becomes high and most good employees leave the company.
My boss was horrible, and she couldn’t understand why people were leaving

The best wake up calls for these type of corrupt Employers like that is to report them to Corporate during your Exodus.
Capitalism sucks.
Toxic EX boss, narcissistic EX boss and stuck in their ways EX boss. Toxic as hell 💯 all your points happened to me and so I quit. 🙌
And you’ve done the right thing. Congratulations for having the guts to do it! Best of luck and keep me posted!
I have had many jobs, and therefore many bosses.
All the things you mention I have encountered, sometimes all the traits on *one* boss:
"I am always right" ─Check✅
"You are never good enough" ─Check ✅
"Micromanagement" ─Check ✅
"No constructive feedback" ─Check ✅
"Put you down in front of others" ─Check ✅
"Boss bullying" ─Check ✅
"Culture of fear" ─Check ✅
All signs of someone who should *not* be a manager.
Marat you reminded me of my previous boss. He was a toxic person. He used these phrases:
that I can do the job with or even without you;
If you quit my company you are not going to find someone to hire you;
Once I asked him for scissors to cut something. He shouted at me. He was so nervous
He thought that he knows every thing about my major.
Thank you :)
My boss told me “When you do not have experience handling these things please discuss. Especially in your case discuss anything you get with me because I think the ability to think holistically on things is not there.”
Is this toxic behaviour ? These comments are very often.
