I got the G14 last week, reassured by your 1 month of use video, and I'm loving it. The screen size isn't a big issue for me since my last laptop was 15 inches, although I see why that might be an issue for some. Also the battery life is simply amazing. I use it for school and as long as this laptop has 50-60% of charge, I last the whole 6.5 hour day without a charger and still have charge left over when I get home(Eco and silent mode of course, don't need a dGPU or loud fans while I'm at school). The fan presets are a bit annoying to me since turbo doesn't really do much, but manual mode works well. Overall loving it, so thanks for the recommendation.
@@Wutang4evaaa if you put the fans on manual mode and make your own profile, the temps are fine. They also aren't particularly loud, even at a 100%, which is great

Going from two-monitor setup to just a 14 inch screen is obviously going to be a downgrade. Even a 15 or 16 inch screen will seem a downgrade after you use two monitors lol...its kinda obvious.
This is one of the few laptops at the moment that can run Mac OS Monterey at full speed. The GPU is compatible so you can run Final Cut Pro, Autodesk Flame on this little machine. Worth the purchase, especially with the 6800S GPU
Did you mention the possibility of running Mac OS, or really having seen it? Mac OS X has some problem using AMD APU's iGPU, althogh being RDNA2 in born. Can 680M iGPU be really compatible on Mac OS RX 6000 series driver?

We pay a lot for high perfomance but brittle gaming laptops nowadays. They could have at least QC them better for $1500 product but the need to keep releasing new models every year meant that they couldn't and released lemons out there. I'll be very careful around Asus ROG products.
Silent mode, turn on battery saver, turn on 60hz in armory crate, put GpU on performance, enable mux switch. Turn off keyboard lighting if you want. Lower brightness to 30-40%. You can easily get 8+ hours.
I’ve had this a few days. Breezes through Borderlands 2 with everything set to maximum. Which, being honest, is the only thing that matters. I’ll be trying Atomic Heart soon. Oh yeah, I paid $1099.00 at Best Buy.

This notebook is awsome. The screen has beautiful colors, ans is the best screen i have. The rysen 9 6900h paired with ddr5 16gb with quadchanel makes the computer run with no lag. The weight is too low. The keyboard is perfect. The touchpad is a new experience. For years I bought premium notebooks from HP, Dell, Toshiba, and anyone surprise me like this one.
It looks great but it's rated 4 stars on Best Buy. A LOT of complaints about issues with this laptop which make me hesitant. Otherwise on paper it looks great.

I returned my G14 due to rattling trackpad issues, the screen not getting dim enough for night time use and the high pitch fan noise which tbh seems to be an issue in every thin and light gaming laptop All these things can be almost fixed with using a mouse, not using the laptop night time, and wearing noise cancelling headphones but for my use they were too much. Otherwise a fantastic piece of hardware I'm looking at if next years G15 could get a refresh with a better screen and consider buying it if has AMD inside. M16 would be for my needs but I don't like how intel ruins your battery life
The issues with the trackpad and the fans were definitely just with the laptop you got. I got a G14 last week and the fans weren't high pitched, even after setting them to 100% in the manual mode and the trackpad is a pleasure to use because of how big and smooth it is. Also I guess the night time use thing is a bit subjective, because I've used it at night in the dark a few times already (student with deadlines, you know how it is) and I only needed to turn it down to ~40% to comfortably use it without strain.
Turbo mode on mine gives me alot more fps. Gets loud tho. I don't use silent mode. If you lower the power limit and adjust the fan curve accordingly, it stays cool and silent for basic browsing and school stuff.

For your 3rd dislike - I want to add that it is not an Asus issue per say but AMD HS class CPUs drop a lot less performance on battery power or silent mode. It's like you are saying MacBook air M1 without fans is performing like 13 pro M1 with fans.
I have a big question! PLEASE HELP! hopefully you can answer. Is there a difference between downloading the g14 specific amd drivers (through the adrenalin software from asus) vs the latest driver and driver (through the adrenalin software from amd). I know the drivers have different serial numbers and I don't know how to properly test the difference.
Ye pretty sure there is a difference. I downloaded the drivers for AMD through the AMD site for my rx6600m . It ended up in a BSOD. I think it's because of the driver but not sure. It's better to download the specific drivers imo.
I have the 2021 model. And it gets a bit warm after gaming for long hours. Especially if my house fans are turned off. It gets warm on the left bottom side of the laptop where we put our palm and it does get warm near wasd buttons. It sometimes becomes difficult for me to play games. Is this the issue with 2022 model?

Asus TUF series were notorious for weak hinges and spotty WIFI chips. Not sure about ROG stuff but their higher end models tend to run hot that's why I'm not sure about its long term reliability.

My only issue so far is I am not getting anything even remotely close to advertised battery life. Not sure which settings I need to adjust. I get barely 2 hours if even that.
Update your bios through MyAsus. That raised my previous 4 hours of battery life to 10-11 hours. Also keep it on silent mode and low screen brightness(50ish%)
I have a G15 and I was encountering the same issue. In my case, the issue was that the dGPU was always on, even when I wasn't gaming. For regular tasks like web browsing and light productivity, the dGPU is completely unnecessary and only serves to swallow battery life. Go to Armory crate (make sure it's up to date) --> Device (the keyboard and mouse icon on the side panel) --> System --> GPU Power Saving and select either "Eco Mode" (which I'm pretty sure disables the dGPU completely) or "Optimized" which automatically toggles the dGPU on and off depending on what you're doing (this is the mode I use). I think "Standard" is the default mode and keeps the dGPU on 24/7. This mode shouldn't really be used unless your laptop is always plugged in.
HELLO PLEASE HELP. When I play heavy games I start to get a message of low video ram and my game lags so bad!!!!!!!!! Why???? 1849.99 dollars on this laptop , how can something like this happen. I have updated through windows install and installed graphics driver up to date and still get the same message when opening forza horizon 5 and with games like modern warfare the lag is absurd. Please help!!!!
Middle ground: G15 I hope they upgrade the two "Zyphrus G" models to 14.5 inches and 16 inches: 7-13% more screen real estate, 5-10% more battery, and better thermals for only a quarter pound more.

This particular model from bestbuy doesn't have fingerprint login. Also, there is a lot of quality control issues. Kinda hard to go ahead and purchase without knowing if they fixed those issues. I was thinking of getting the tuf A15 instead.
I love this laptop EXCEPT mine has a persistent issue with being unable to wake up from sleep. I have to completely turn off the auto-sleep or it inevitably gets stuck in sleep mode and I have to do a hard reset.
Same with mine. I had to turn it to a setting where I have to hold the power button to boot it up (not a full restart). It takes maybe 5 seconds at most. Before, my computer didn't go to sleep and kept running even with the lid closed.
This is an issue that's been ongoing. I have the same problem, What I did was set the computer to hibernate instead of sleep. So far haven't had the issue pop back up.
Ever tried Hibernate instead of sleep? It saves everything before shutting down. Basically gives a slight bit more battery life and only takes an couple seconds to load the login screen.

Sounds like it's running off the integrated GPU and not the discrete GPU. Check the settings and make sure the game is using the correct GPU.

Hey, can anyone tell me whether I should pick this one or the Macbook Air (16 GB Ram, 1TB SSD). I normally use Android development with medium-high file sizes, multitasking with a lof of stuffs, don't do video editing, don't have external displays or any Mac devices...
