Upside-down, compact, portable, and super fast 3D printer - Positron V3 has it all. A compact 3D printer that packs into a filament spool box, so you can take it anywhere you want. This design is looking at a 3D printer less like a stationary machine, but more like a powerful tool in a maker/inventor's tool kit. The printer deploys and folds up in less than 90 seconds, fits easily inside a bag, and prints at 200+mm/s.

It's been done before (on larger scales), but it's never been this perfected.
Using synchro-cables on a small design to make it even smaller is simply genius.
The only issue is scaling the printer up, but limit switches and automatic bed leveling might mitigate bad tolerances.

Thank you for your contribution to the 3D Printer community. I love the concept of this. By taking the weight off the bed, you can make a much larger build volume in a non foldable printer. No need to overcome inertia. Brilliant. Super excited to try to put this together. I have a pretty nice hobby machine shop with an ancient Kerney and Trecker Model H mill .

This is insanely awesome! Then the fact that you release it into the world for free is just mind blowing! You and your team deserve some major awards! This changes so much vs the current norm. Hopefully a big company picks this up and brings you and your team on to pay you top dollar to keep up these kinds of innovations. As I don't have any way of producing one myself, I will be waiting eagerly for a purchasable version! Now on to signing up to your Patreon!

This is an EXCELLENT video. I'm recommending it to everyone in my Hawaii Inventors Association as well as my local Maker group. Understanding how a product goes through many iterations before being ready for marketing is critical for all inventors and makers.

I've been following you since the first power bank, and I really like your videos. Even though I haven't a 3D printer for budget and space reasons, your project looks very tempting and so well designed, and I might buy/build one when you make it possible.
I do appreciate your work a lot, and although I never had supported any channel on Patreon I am considering supporting you because you really deserve a reward for doing such a great contribution to the community.

I absolutely love this. Such a smart design, and it's clear you've put tons of effort into working out the issues. The small packing space is a HUGE selling point to me - i'd love to have a 3d printer, but i do not have space to put and keep a huge box somewhere in my apartment. This one would be so easy to set up when i need it, and pack away on a shelf when done. I really hope someone picks this up to manufacture, or at least sell kits with the necessary parts to build it myself.
