Makes sense. This is exactly the thought process I’m going through now that I’ve had SetApp for a few months. There are many apps that I would have never discovered if I didn’t have the chance to try them via SetApp. In the long term though, I think I’ll find the items I like and just pay those devs directly. I think SetApp is a great option though for those who are new-ish to the Mac or its passionate community of independent dev studios.
That’s a great point. It’s excellent for those who are new to macOS or haven’t explored Mac apps in general. I’m in the same boat. I tried many of these apps only because they are available in Setapp and likely would never have downloaded them otherwise. But I do think that many people would be better off just buying the few apps they’ll use instead of paying for a subscription. Thanks for commenting! 😎
You're welcome! I do like it a lot, and there are some great apps there that make it worth it for many people, but whether or not it's worth it for you depends on your needs. I'm glad you liked the video, and thanks for commenting! 😎
@@spareroomtech I prefer the route to buy each app separately, especially these that have one time purchase fee. I dislike that everything has gone the subscription route. But, I can understand if someone use a bunch of the apps Setapp provides. About the video, I really like that you keep it in short length speaking directly on the subject. With our time consuming routines, family, etc. spare time is a privilege!
@@vded13 I agree 100%! I have the Adobe Creative Cloud apps, and I like them, but I *really* wish I could just buy them outright. I don't like subscriptions as a general rule. Honestly, I probably could save money by just buying the apps I use instead of going through Setapp. And I'll likely go that route down the road personally. Thanks! I definitely don't want to waste anyone's time. I personally think it's frustrating when I watch a video and the person on camera takes a decade to get to the point. Ha. I don't want to be like that.
Base $10/mo subscription limits all your apps usage to only ONE computer. That's pretty stingy, imo. Should be at least 2 computers minimum for that price.
For what you get, I don't think it's unreasonable really. If you have more than one Mac, it's just a few bucks more to get support for up to 4 Macs and 4 iOS devices.

Thanks, Anthony!
As a 3 months old macOS user thanks for the video. I’ve always wondered about Setapp.
