In germany the Gigabyte is about 1330€ vs. 1120€ for the Dell. It is not even a choice, we have to buy the Dell everything else is just stupid :/
Same here in Canada. Dell is way cheaper than everything else. MSI comes close but mpg 321urx is never in stock.
I am German and i bought the gigabyte because the p version has dp 2.1 all features and is semi glossy basically the best monitor of all the 4k oleds
Asus is 1700€ and MSI 1500€ in Germany.
Unfortunately Dell doesn’t ship to Austria. 😢
Similar price difference situation in Sweden, just more expensive all around.
Same situation for me, still opted for Aorus, I like that you can shrink the screen for competitive games and probably prefer flat also
Just bought the AW3225QF for $824.62 after taxes. Dell discounted the monitor $200, I used a 10% coupon from Alienware Gaming for another $100 off, and Rakuten offered 15% cash back for monitors bought directly through Dell for another $135 that I’ll be getting as a check in November.
I should also mention that if you have an Amex CC (I don’t), they’re offering I believe $150 as a CC statement for purchases made through Dell over $500
Wait what how
The best OLED monitor would be the one you can actually buy. Every brand on every website has been out of stock for two months, other then the Dell.
Come in france and order one from TOPACHAT or LDLC😂
I have the Alienware. Love the curve for gaming so much. Just gotta sit in the sweetspot which may annoy some
Yes and unfortunately they have gone with a very shallow curve of 1700r which means you have to sit 1.7 meters away to hit that sweet spot. 1.7 meters away for a 32" monitor is ridiculous. This should be a 1000r curve. Maybe even 900
when will you review the asus one?
Love the cats. How close do you think we are to 45” at 5120 by 2160 in oled?
5years aways
Opted for Aorus, I like that you can shrink the screen for competitive games and probably prefer flat, there are some downsides though I don't think you can use freesync on shrinked 27" at least but it has to be disabled and you don't have one to one pixel mapping like the Asus so you have to play below native in 24 and 27" or upscale by pushing 1440p / 4k it's not a dealbreaker for me but a bit disappointing
I was gonna buy this but not having an audio out port is a deal breaker for me. I settled for the LG C4
huh? the gigabyte one has both audio and mic out ports....
would you recommend them for ps5 gaming?
NONE of these new monitors are in stock in the Philippines. Not a single one. The only ones that barely exist are those ultra-wide 160/175hz-ish models that aren't 4k. Even LG's C4 and G4 OLEDs aren't in stock online. It's like there's something happening behind the scenes and we're not being told what it is.
Not many are in stock in Australia as well, I had a chat with a store rep and they're in backorder until the 6th or 8th next month. I suppose you just gotta wait 😭
check villman for the msi or datblitz for the gigabyte qd oled
Philippines?? You Filipino's dont even have the money to buy this, worry more about not having to eat pag pag
@@xPhantomxifywow 😂😂😂.
things got easier for me now curve screens annoy me , this was always gonna be between asus and gigabyte.
I’d have bought the Alienware in a heartbeat if it were flat. The design actually looks really sleek and not budget or plasticky like the MSI or even the Aorus. Plus, here in the UK, it’s the cheapest of them all. Right now, it’s just £850, which is £300 less than the Gigabyte, MSI, and Samsung G80SD (all around £1150)! Then there’s the Asus, which is £1350-approaching twice the price of the competition with the same panel inside. Lol.
Is this guy Graphically Challenged's brother? They look and sound basically the same.
where's the DP2.1 version review?
Pointless nothing runs it, not even AMD 2.1 cards work
@@Aaron-zl5gqyour right, no one ever buys anything that has forward compatibility for the next gen…
🙂 the zeba opened it's eyes on a AW curved 4K 240.
wow,
Alienware is still not in stock in the Czech Republic EU :/
What about the MSI? Usually cheaper in my region, is not good enough? (the 4k has firmware updates)
The one that you can't firmware update? No thanks.
@@edwinwebber5776 the 4K does have firmware updates, the one you are talking is one of the 1440p versions which had great firmware at lunch btw
@@edwinwebber5776 the one you're talking is the 1440p, one of the two versions, which had good firmware at lunch, the 4k does have fw updates
What about this What about that "You will get what you get and LIKE IT"
That's one of the 1440p versions, not the 4k one
I got the Alienware for 900€ in Germany after Cashback brand new from Dell's website with Dell's premium pro support for 3 years. It was insanely well protected no scratches or anything else. Any other one costs over 1400€ here so it's basically 500€ difference. And the Asus one costs 1800€ which means exactly the double of what i paid for my Alienware.
I've never bought anything from Dell before but I'm pretty happy with my Alienware so far 😁
My whole setup is white and the back of it can be seen by anyone sitting in my room so it's absolutely amazing.
Does gigabyte one or the others have a better image quality than the Alienware or all of them are basically the same in terms of that?
They don’t have a cooling fan and Alienware have it. That the only major difference.
I've just sent my Alienware AW3225QF back, the picture quality was absolute crap, when watching a film during a dark scene the black background had severe pixelation and had a 'halo effect', changed all the settings but alas no change so I've gone back to a normal 4k IPS display... much better.
That sucks you must have had something wrong with yours there's not a single IPS monitor that looks better than these OLEDs
@KevinAugustt - completely agree here!
Must be a defective unit
I just got the Alienware for $900
Fucking how? Also congrats. I paid full price but at least I've had it since it was released. It's gonna blow your mind
Refurbished?
@@HaloblackopsTenken would be fast for a refurbished product to show up already but tbh I don't know shit about how all that works
I'm in Canada. Alienware is way cheaper and more available than all the other OLEDs. It's normally $1500 CAD ($1095 USD). It was -$100 off and there was a 10% off code you get from signing up for the newsletter. Got it down to $1260 CAD ($920 USD) before tax.
@@HaloblackopsTenken brand new
I wish the Gigabyte was curved. I love a curve.
Doesn't the FO32U2 have Display Port 2.1? 🤔
No. The model in this video does not. The FO32U2P does have the DP 2.1. That P on the end I guess designates Pro or something.
Vs the Asus QD Oled
Pretty sure the latest revision ships with the latest firmware.
What about FO32U2P?
Gigabyte needs him to shill the regular FO32U2 cus ain’t no way anyone looking at features alone would pay for that over the cheaper MSI MPG model or not pay $100 more for Dolby Vision with the Alienware model.
@@taskmaster5437the fo32u2p is literally better than the Alienware. No fan, dp2.1 and not curved. Dolby vision is something you might care about but I don’t.
@@TimOD-hm9euthe regular FO32U2 mate, not the P version, which btw is the one I got
@@taskmaster5437 Dolby vision can be updated with an firmware ! it s just a question of time i think ! If the market really need it so Aorus can put on it
Hi The Display Guy, what are some of your favorite videogames?
Still waiting for 27’ 4K OLED monitor.
What about the Alienware vs Asus?
im not sure what i should buy, flat or curved. I will be sure when i pay 1200$ for a monitor. Has somebody tipps for deciding ?
In the end - Curved or flat it is just a matter of taste. Some like curved-shaped screens, some-flat. Best is go in a supermarket/shop and "touch that monitor candidate", in order to get a better idea of what screen shape fits you better. For my taste:
- 1000R (heavily curved screens - Radius = 1m) - for best image experience, requires the user to be within 1meter distance to the screen + not more than +/-5 degrees centered vs screen view direction. Deviations from this "ideal centered position" to the side will result in undesirable visual effects like lower quality image, greyer blacks, etc. However, visualizing the screen from the "ideal position", will give you, some say, a more immersive screen experience (especially for gaming). Not good for productivity work. 1000R curvature is just too much for me when i look at it.
- 1700R or more (Radius = 1,7m or more) image quality will be perceived way better than 1000R, even when visualized away from the "ideal position" - in the +/- 70...80 deg range. I have the Alienware AW3225QF (1700R curvature) - and i am very happy with the choice! 1700R is just perfect for gaming, movies as well as productivity work. I do like the slight screen curvature as design, keeping screen away from reflecting the window light (in my particular window/monitor placement) + i have an L-shaped table - hence this curvature minimizes desk space occupied by the monitor.
- Flat screens - are just flat screens :) . Typically wide angle of view, easier to re-orient in case of reflections , better if needed to be placed against a wall, perfect for productivity work
In the end, if you plan buying any 4k QD OLED monitor around (or over) 1200$ - i do not believe you will buy it based on the screen curvature! Check first what it can do, image quality, auxiliary functions and connections, burn-in avoidance, noise level, energy consumption, size, etc. Curved or flat comes into play only after you are happy with the rest of the Monitor "goodies", and again - its a matter of personal choice
@@ioi0001 uhm, you wrote that much that i dont know what to say exept ,thank you 😅(my englisch is not the best)
I am pretty sure the flat ones are better for watching movies etc when you a bit farther away maybe, but I could be wrong. I was just "forced" to buy the flat Gigabyte one today instead of the curved Alienware one which I have been waiting for for a month and cause I was just told that the Dell factory has production issues, whatever that means. I've had a curved 27 for several years and been very happy with it
Alienware comes “clean” these days, updated (= all the bugs you have heard about in different blogs, reviews, etc) - those are gone since beginning of May due to the April month updates. Also complains about delivery - solved as well. My Dell came in clean, unscratched , no dents or unwanted deformations in the screen - i.e. - exactly how a new monitor is supposed to look and behave. Yes any OLEDs, from any brand may come with defects (dead pixels, wrong colours , etc) - but hey - that’s why the 3-year OLED monitors swap guarantees!
Overall I will not judge whether Gigabyte or Dell OLED monitors are better - I will only tell that Alienware is superb at both movies watching and gaming - be it viewed within the “immersive zone” or outside.
lol the merchant where i'm considering the aorus vs the alienware from, advertises the aorus as not qd and no G-sync
did he say its dp 1.4? thought it was 2.1 from what i seen. Am i getting something wrong here
The Pro version of the gigabyte monitor is DP 2.1. this version is 1.4 I believe
I got the gigabyte one I have a quick question when I go full screen on the pubg menu the screen goes out of hdr so I have to play in borderless can u tell me y also what setting I should be using Thanks
PUBG? Wtf

How do you update firmware on gigabyte?
You actually just download the firmware and open the exe file and it starts it up
Hey, I own a FO32U2P which has gotten one already for fixing the pixel cleaning behavior, you connect the monitor via a specific USB port and run their driver software.
The baseline model FO32U2 hasn't gotten one yet though from a quick check.
