2012 Chevy Silverado Brake Switch Replacement

This was supposed to be a video about how to fix your Chevy Silverado when the stabilitrac and traction control light comes on saying it’s off, there are several reasons those lights come on, which the main reason I thought it was the brake switch was because the light would come on when pushing the brake peddle, and that switch going out would cause that, or just being low on brake fluid. So have a moment watch me act like I know what I’m doing, and how even the simplest fixes can be made into big jobs, and pain in the asses.

Mine come on an goes off while I’m driving brake fluid is full but I noticed my brake lights stay on after I let off the pedal goes off if I pull out on my pedal I’m curious if you might have some advice

You have a 2013 The 10 digit on your vin is D which is 2013.

Strangely my brake lights (rear brake and third) stay on when the truck is on. If I unplug the switch they go out. Not getting any stabilitrak or brake warning lights on. I'm going to try the switch.

That would do it. Just when you change it, make sure you pull the power cable so it can learn the new brake position. This was a major headache with me, until I found after switch is replaced it needs a reset. (Positive power unhooked for 30sec) which whenever anything electrical gets changed it really does insist on disconnecting the battery, so if I did it right I would have never had the problem in the first place. Shoot might pull power for 30sec and re connect it, maybe it would fix w/o replacing switch.

I stuffed 25 cents inbetween the plastic peg and the nub sticking out the break lever turned off stabilitrack and the other light . The battery has been getting drained soo hopefully tomorrow when i go to start my truck itll still have battery. Only reason why i noticed it could have something to do with that was because my brake lights were stuck on
