@Dame Tech Did a gaming test between the S24 Ultra and 16 Pro Max in a few different games and the 16 Pro Max outperformed the S24 Ultra and not by a little bit, by a country mile. It also ran cooler so I dunno what your experience reflects. Maybe it was a specific game that you were playing which is unoptimized? Or maybe the heat was transferred into different parts of the phone and so it feels different even if technically the iPhone is running smoother and staying cooler?
A lot depends on game optimization usually if both are equally optimized which it isnt then samsung keeps it cooler due to vapour chamber but sadly games more optimized for apple because developers need to make only one for ios and multiple for difff androids
@@Lolllllllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzz That’s a pretty common fallback excuse and it was probably true in the past but I think Apple Legit makes more powerful hardware now. I have the S24 and was thinking of going back to the iPhone. The S24 is packed and is fast, BUT when it comes to the things you actually use a phone for, camera and communication, iPhone just does it better.
I’ve got both and neither is better than the other in general. I use both on a daily basis. Specifically , some things are better on the 16 and some are better on the 24. Just depends on what exactly you’re doing. I wouldn’t give up either one.
Has the iPhone keyboard improved? My last iPhone was the 14 pro max. I always found the keyboard to be very annoying. I did try the gboard keyboard on the iPhone but the phone would randomly switch back to the native keyboard without me switching it.

Of course s24 ultra is 10 months old device now so battery might have degraded a little . We can’t compare both as iPhone 16 PM is just released. If we need to compare then wait for S25 then see which goes better. Anyway it’s a piece of cake for Samsung.

Many of the comments in the video seem to hardly make sense. For instance, from 5:12, the Samsung screen is presented as sharper given its higher pixel density (505 vs 460). Both densities are so high that no human eye can see any difference. Moving to the color reproduction, the Z fold 6 is presented as being better than the S24 Ultra, which has a new, quite effective anti-reflective (from 4:37). The z fold 6 has no such anti-reflective, which remains exclusive to the Ultra. Besides, there is a difference between color reproduction and vivid colors, and confusing the two is misleading. Also, the weight difference between the iPhone and Samsung is being presented as noticeable, while it is only 5 grams. Don't think anyone can feel such a small gap on devices which are already rather heavy
Iphones are boring. Very boring. Too restrictive, not many features. I miss that s23 zoom, the different tricks for customization, Poweramp. I will definitely get the S24 ultra

Although I really like the iPhone 16 pro Max I can't help but go back to my s24 ultra everyday I love The build quality and it just feels In my opinion more polished. However if I was not such a tech enthusiast I believe this s24 Ultra could last for at least four or five years with no reason to upgrade. It's just that good in my opinion. One thing that I don't like about the iPhone 16 pro Max is all the buttons they have added and on both sides no reason to have both sides of your phone with multiple buttons.
Customization makes the Samsung unique and personal, especially when you unlock the developer options. With the S Pen and AI assistance, the S24 Ultra is still better at this point.
@@hubadabubbada Reliability(you can use for years and your phone still feels fast as new, words from my friends), Stability and Safety(software update for years) for the most part, if you don't care much about customization, then iPhone will probably be the better choice because Apple will set up almost everything you need for you. As a videographer for over 15+ years . I choose iphone due to the fact that apple take videography seriously. I dont really care about the brand and other stuff. After 5 hours of holding a 300+ gram dslr in a wedding photo shoot we often use an iphone 15pm to fill certain scene. 😂 nobody can tell the difference if color grading is done right😂 Samsung needs to upgrade its video department . We dont need 4k on small screen .
I gotta say man we’ve had that “camera shutter” button with volume up button since the iPhone 6. Not really a new feature at all to be honest. So we’ve always had a “camera button” on the phone itself in landscape for like 10 years now.
The s24 ultra is a beautiful phone , iv had issues with the titanium scratching VERY easy compared to the iphones. but its hard for me to stick with my 16 pro max when you look at the s24 ultra , its stunning
Samsung Galaxy Ultra looks more premium than the iphone. The display is more accurate on the Galaxy Ultra than the iphone. I haven't been a fan of IOS with daycare watching you 24/7. Android OS is king of customization.
I am sure S24s battery is better because when i used Samsung Note devices until S22 Ultra, i realized that after a week the battery performance improves a lot adapting itself to your usage. I don't know how they manage this technology but it became very obvious to me. And when i bought my 14 pro i was expecting a similar experience however it was a total disappointment. It was the same battery performance since the beginning and in just one year, the battery life has became shorter, probably due to heating problem. So when i watch some videos of battery comparison S24 Ultra vs 16 pro max, i am adding minimum 10% more to the final result of a brand new S24 ultra as these devices always improve their battery life after the first use.
I thought this was gonna be my first phone after 15 years of my life. But turns out my mom couldn't afford it. So I'll just wait until i start to earn money.

You’re right about the software, should be Right out of the box !!! First time I ever took an IPhone back , Apple should go back to every other year w a new phone , and the other year , software upgrade. Not fully sold on that camera button also , it looks like , possibly it could get in the way , and , if you’re using an Otterbox case on the belt , it may be a problem possibly. If you’re coming from an iPhone 11-12 , I could see the upgrade, but after that , I can’t justify it.

@@TheDarkserpent the lock screen failing to unlock is a major issue with my note 9. It happens if my phone has a long uptime and no restarts. It forces me to restart to continue using the phone

I’ve read a lot of complaints about the camera shutter speed causing issues with camera blurr with moving objects. I’m looking at switch back to Samsung from iPhone but so far bar iPhone being boring, it’s very consistent in all aspects. Please let me know your experience if possible

Great review, Nick !!!
I really want Google and Samsung to team up again and make a Google Edition Samsung Galaxy device with the flagship specs running on pure Android.
I would rather google team up with LG. LG would come with new innovation while google work on the software like the nexus
@@coxb29 if that possible. people can't even buy one. The price will be much higher
Well every samsung phone is basically half google
I'd rather have fully Ui One Samsung phone, Samsung apps are just better except for Browser
I want Google pixel cameras, haptics and software with Samsung display and Apple chipset
I’ve never liked Samsung Phones due to my unfortunate history with them. My speakers randomly stopped working on one phone, another one had a broken charge port and couldn’t even do surface charging, etc. Every single iPhone I had has never failed me and I treat all of my phones with care. Google Pixel phones on the other hand are amazing. I would’ve went with the Pixel 9, but I’m not dumping my air pods and Apple Watch. I went with the 16 Pro Max 😄
I will never in my life choose any other smartphone over the Samsung Galaxy S Series. Its so much more technologically advanced than the competition and since I got my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra I can easily and honestly say I'm a true Samsung fan boy. I fell in love with that phone instantly and to see Samsung improve on something that was already perfect is beautiful.
The iPhone is very boring. Nothing new. The company's development has stopped, and this is sad. I've been using the s24 ultra for 7 months and I'm very satisfied. It's the best phone to buy right now.
When it comes to android it’s the pixel that is the best phone right now not Samsung at least when it comes to android but I think the iPhone is still the overall best phone. It may be boring but it’s reliable so give me boring any day as long as it’s reliable.

Great review. Very informative on the pluses and minuses of them both.
My phone s24 ultra still looks new. Keep it in a case
I have the S24 and was thinking of going back to the iPhone. The S24 is packed and is fast, BUT when it comes to the things you actually use a phone for, camera and communication, iPhone just does it better.
Which one is your favourite iphone 16 pro max or S24 Ultra Nick ?
Neither, I use both because I miss features from each if I only use one.
@nickackermanchannel i feel the exact same way. I have many different Android devices. Same with iPhone, and I simply love them all.
Nokia better
The bezels war never ends 😅😅😅
I’ve got both and neither is better than the other in general. I use both on a daily basis. Specifically , some things are better on the 16 and some are better on the 24. Just depends on what exactly you’re doing. I wouldn’t give up either one.
Has the iPhone keyboard improved? My last iPhone was the 14 pro max. I always found the keyboard to be very annoying. I did try the gboard keyboard on the iPhone but the phone would randomly switch back to the native keyboard without me switching it.
I think it did yea. I feel like it's way better now with the iOS 18 but I'm not sure. I didn't look into it or actually see the update notes but it seems different and now supports slide to text in every language. Also the auto complete is way better now.
Thinking about upgrading from iPhone 14 Plus to the s24 ultra. Just because of the customization. Love iPhone, but it’s just always the same. I like all the features w that galaxy phone.
This year I went with iPhone 16 pro over max ❤❤

Same here, I’ve got the maxes and ultras for years but I’m really liking a phone with a smaller form factor this year. The battery’s also greatly improved in the pro now too
So I’ve been watching some battery tests online and and a lot of them have the iPhone 16 pro max lasting longer, but the one by mrwhosetheboss has the s24 ultra lasting significantly longer than the 16 pro max. What is your day to day experience with battery on these two phones?
My day to day experience is that I'm going to touch you
Of course s24 ultra is 10 months old device now so battery might have degraded a little .

I challenge you to remember the charging speed from 0 to 100 in the iPhone 16 Pro Max

I also have been using the Galaxy s24 ultra as my daily driver for the last 7 months. I just purchased the new iPhone 16 pro Max as my second phone. Although I really like the iPhone 16 pro Max I can't help but go back to my s24 ultra everyday I love The build quality and it just feels In my opinion more polished. That says a lot as iPhone has always been the more polished over the years! I also can't wait for the s25 Ultra.
I have the Samsung Note 10 and the iPhone XR, but I'm going for that iPhone 16ProMax🤩. In 2 weeks I'll have it in my hands.

@@hubadabubbada Reliability(you can use for years and your phone still feels fast as new, words from my friends), Stability and Safety(software update for years) for the most part, if you don't care much about customization, then iPhone will probably be the better choice because Apple will set up almost everything you need for you.
I have been an Android user ever since the smartphone era came out, but this year I'm switching to iOS for the very first time, Android is still great for those uses it, I just feel like at this point in my life, iOS suits me better for my lifestyle.
Just my two cents.
I almost had mine but canceled last second because the dynamic island isnt hidden in games or video. That's something android can do. Main reason I've kept my note 9 for this long because I wanted a display without hole punch or notch
Switched from a iphone 15 pro max to s24u BEST DECISION EVER! Samsung runs really smooth as well!
As a videographer for over 15+ years . I choose iphone due to the fact that apple take videography seriously.
I dont really care about the brand and other stuff.
But for a videographer Iphone pro res is very useful. After 5 hours of holding a 300+ gram dslr in a wedding photo shoot we often use an iphone 15pm to fill certain scene. 😂 nobody can tell the difference if color grading is done right😂
Samsung needs to upgrade its video department . We dont need 4k on small screen .
I gotta say man we’ve had that “camera shutter” button with volume up button since the iPhone 6. Not really a new feature at all to be honest. So we’ve always had a “camera button” on the phone itself in landscape for like 10 years now.
One UI customization is like a software OS of its own....no overhyped apple os could top that... period.
The s24 ultra is a beautiful phone , iv had issues with the titanium scratching VERY easy compared to the iphones. but its hard for me to stick with my 16 pro max when you look at the s24 ultra , its stunning

With the S24 Ultra, you can get 4k@120Hz. Just use the Pro Video mode and you will see the option there 👍
I am sure S24s battery is better because when i used Samsung Note devices until S22 Ultra, i realized that after a week the battery performance improves a lot adapting itself to your usage.
