What a joke. The difference between 12 pro max and 13 is so minimal besides 120hz display. They look the same and work about the same. No phone change much since 12. 16 is the new king and then 17 will be. Ppl like to say whatever number they currently have was the peak 😂

The funny thing is if you replace the battery on 13 pro max it will live longer than brand new 16 pro max. Apple nailed this model. Using 13 pro max almost 3 years.
Let's be honest, if battery is fine and phone is not physically broken, it's still 90% the same phone. People should spend more resources on their family's wellbeing and less money on piece of glass.
What people spend their money on is their choice rather that is fiscally responsible depends on their circumstances, however I do agree the 13 Pro Max have plenty of life left in it. But to reduce the iPhone to a piece of glass is not quite the whole story. If someone is coming from a 13 Pro Max 128GB wants more storage, battery life, better cameras and AI features plus more ram to extend them into the future, they could sell their 13 Pro Max to cover a substantial amount off of the 16 Pro Max and have an iPhone that can carry them years into the future with latest tech. However if they want a radical change better to wait until the 17 Models

They delivered the 16 Pro Max yesterday and I’ve yet to open it and switch from my 13 Pro Max because I honestly don’t feel a rush to do so. So many reviews have said it wasn’t that much of an upgrade

I just upgraded to the 16 pro max from my 13 pro max. Even with my 13 pro max battery being at 87% health the battery life on the 16 pro max was no better and nothing on that phone made me “excited”. So i returned it, paid the $55 “open box” fee and learned a valuable lesson, if you own a 13 or above “pro” series phone and are a normal everyday person, you shouldn’t upgrade. Except in my case, Im upgrading to the Pixel. I played with it in store and it is such a snappy, fun and vibrant phone.

This phone and the 8 Plus were apples greatest creations, iphone 11 is an honorable mention. Coming from a current 24 ultra user. Gonna test the battery life on my 13 pro max today, I believe it's still better than My ultra despite being on 91% battery health.
Hey Nick, just wanted to point out that you can swipe to unlock without tapping the screen or the power button first, if you have AOD enabled, making it quite a bit faster.
Yeah, and on the 16 it is actually usable unlike even the 15 which could not get dim enough. These “small” changes add up and make a big difference when combined. In the end ever since the iPhone 11 there really have been minor updates but they add up over the years.
I think I’ll stick with the 13 Pro Max for another year because by the time Apple Intelligence innovations come out, the iPhone 17 will already be close to release. The 16 will be in an odd position, only having those much-talked-about Apple Intelligence features for a few months before quickly becoming “outdated” by a new iPhone that will undoubtedly have exclusive features.

I have had a 13 pro max for 3 years now. Will likely keep it for another year or two at minimum. Phones last longer than they used to. Phones used to last only a year or two as recently as 2016. Since 2019 and on, phones just have a lot of longevity now. Mostly because phone technology is so advanced at this point that simple phones are starting to mirror specs of medium tier computers, and computers last 5-7 years
Slightly better doesn't justify an extra $1000 on the price tag. The iphone 13 Pro Max will be a great upgrade for me, considering I'm upgrading from the XR lol

The long anticipated video I’ve been waiting for, I still am using my 13 Pro Max since I bought it back in November 2021. Still going strong with a battery capacity of 84%. Thinking about upgrading but not too sure might just replace the battery.
I just jumped from 13 pro to 16 pro. While 13 can do 95% of things that 16 can, it is very nice to have a battery that lasts as long as 15 pro max, have a better camera for video, usb c (finally), and Dynamic Island, which is actually a nice thing. Skipping 2 generations makes the amount of features you gain much bigger but 13 can definitely stay a beast till the next redesign with 17 hopefully
A month ago i changed my battery in my 3 years old 13 pro. Now i am offered to sell it for $500. I could then buy the 16 pro…. I am still not sure i want to sell it… what is the sense to pay a thousand bucks for… an additional button, 5% bigger screen, and better camera…. Not sure… maybe it worth to change until it did not lost updates… next 3-4 years it should work actually but…. Who knows how performant it would be with newer ios..
I still have my 13 pro max till this day. Its by far one of the best that iPhones appl has produced . The durability and the performance overall performance on this phone is times less ! I was thinking about getting 16 but decided to wait another year to the 17 Redesign comes out . We’ve waited all theses years with the 13 ,I think I wait one more 😂

Wow it’s crazy to think 10 years ago phones that were three years apart would have a huge gap in performance (4s vs 6 for example). Nowadays there’s basically no difference. We’ve come a long way with processing power!
If you straight up own the iPhone Apple has been giving us a $1,000 trade in value on the iPhone Pro Max up to a 4 year window. So, you only pay either $200 dollar or $300 depending on if Apple adds more features and raises the price by another $100 bucks. Still keeps the value and keeps you pretty updated.
I bought the 16ProMax. I’m keeping my 13ProMax as a back up phone in case of an incident, my mom needs to replace her phone or just to stay playing around with it. It’s still a great phone. There are to many things I like and a lot of other reasons for me to upgrade to the 16 ProMax this time. 3-4 years in between phone upgrade you get good updated differences. Instead of yearly. I doubt I’ll upgrade again until maybe 3 or 5 versions later

my 13 pro max gets 3018 points in the 3d mark with ios 17.7. interesting how ios 18 costs a whole 1000 points. I certainly won't update. basically nice to see that there is absolutely no reason for me to spend so much money to switch. I'm certainly not going to put down 1400€ for a 0.5 second faster charging time. I'd rather spend 50€ on a new battery. thanks for this test👍🏼
Great video overall ! But I wonder why is it useful ? It’s like racing a Toyota camery and a Ferrari and comparing their capacity to go from 0 to 5 mph. Overall not a big gap between the two of them… but when you race them to a 0-60 you’ll see the difference. Same here I guess. Opening calculator and doing everyday tasks is pretty much useless since their both way more than calculator and safari openers…
If I were you, I would buy older 13 pro just because 120hz display. No doubt 13 pro will be dead by updates earlier maybe 2 years before 15 but still worth it.

My first iPhone was a 7 plus was an amazing phone. I waited till the 13 Pro Max, which was a noticeable upgrade. I'm going to wait for the 17 Pro Max because Apple Intelligence isn't even out yet until next year and by that time there will be better features on the 17. 4 to 5 years to upgrade your phone it will feel better, but if you have the money do whatever
Incredible how beast the iPhone 13 Pro Max is still. And that characterizes Apple that all its generations in a certain time will continue to be machines and that’s when you start to think that you should not consider change if not in a long time.
Personally I still find my 14 Pro Max more premium and expensive-looking device than 15 Pro Max or even 16 Pro Max. Unexpectedly titanium gives me cheaper feeling while holding the phone in my hands. I really love that 14 Pro Max is pretty heavy and that it is the last iPhone which has that classical ring/silent switch.
I think the 16 pro series is the 13 series like year but in 2024. Good battery life, thermals, and overall solid performance. It’s not really an 11 series year because the 11s brought major redesign to the cameras.

Skipping 2 generations makes the amount of features you gain much bigger but 13 can definitely stay a beast till the next redesign with 17 hopefully
Yea if you have the money definitely upgrade but me I’m fine with my 13 pro max eventually I’ll make the upgrade.

A month ago i changed my battery in my 3 years old 13 pro. Now i am offered to sell it for $500. I could then buy the 16 pro….
I am still not sure i want to sell it… what is the sense to pay a thousand bucks for… an additional button, 5% bigger screen, and better camera….
Not sure… maybe it worth to change until it did not lost updates… next 3-4 years it should work actually but…. Who knows how performant it would be with newer ios..
I still have my 13 pro max till this day. Its by far one of the best that iPhones appl has produced . The durability and the performance overall performance on this phone is times less ! I was thinking about getting 16 but decided to wait another year to the 17 Redesign comes out . We’ve waited all theses years with the 13 ,I think I wait one more 😂

Wow it’s crazy to think 10 years ago phones that were three years apart would have a huge gap in performance (4s vs 6 for example). Nowadays there’s basically no difference. We’ve come a long way with processing power!

1-2 seconds delay isn't worth missing a sweet $1200.00 in my bank.
If you straight up own the iPhone Apple has been giving us a $1,000 trade in value on the iPhone Pro Max up to a 4 year window. So, you only pay either $200 dollar or $300 depending on if Apple adds more features and raises the price by another $100 bucks. Still keeps the value and keeps you pretty updated.

one important thing that most iphone comparison videos do is to have the home screen light up to see the difference in the screen bezel
I bought the 16ProMax.
I’m keeping my 13ProMax as a back up phone in case of an incident, my mom needs to replace her phone or just to stay playing around with it.
It’s still a great phone.
There are to many things I like and a lot of other reasons for me to upgrade to the 16 ProMax this time.
3-4 years in between phone upgrade

I love my 13 pro max and the green color. The only reason I'm upgrading is Verizon is giving me $1,000 for my phone, no brainer.
Nothing revolutionary , a minimal upgrades all round. IPhone 13 pro max still one of the best phone for all the average users. However, its sad to completely miss out on any of the latest AI features on the older devices. Thanks for the comparison videos though.
my 13 pro max gets 3018 points in the 3d mark with ios 17.7. interesting how ios 18 costs a whole 1000 points. I certainly won't update.
basically nice to see that there is absolutely no reason for me to spend so much money to switch. I'm certainly not going to put down 1400€ for a 0.5 second faster charging time. I'd rather spend 50€ on a new battery. thanks for this test👍🏼
Great video overall ! But I wonder why is it useful ? It’s like racing a Toyota camery and a Ferrari and comparing their capacity to go from 0 to 5 mph. Overall not a big gap between the two of them… but when you race them to a 0-60 you’ll see the difference. Same here I guess. Opening calculator and doing everyday tasks is pretty much useless since their both way more than calculator and safari openers…

If I were you, I would buy older 13 pro just because 120hz display. No doubt 13 pro will be dead by updates earlier maybe 2 years before 15 but still worth it.
@@JohnnyBravo42 I believe that USB-C, the Dynamic Island feature, and two more years of software updates are sufficient to compete with the 120Hz display, larger size, bigger battery, and premium frame.

13 pro max was best. 16 pro max is a very ordinary phone for what it promises
i have the 16 pro and the experience is just soo smooth, i came from a samsung a52 5g and wow the change is crazy, still, i miss the lack of a fingerptint reader

My first iPhone was a 7 plus was an amazing phone. I waited till the 13 Pro Max, which was a noticeable upgrade. I'm going to wait for the 17 Pro Max because Apple Intelligence isn't even out yet until next year and by that time there will be better features on the 17. 4 to 5 years to upgrade your phone it will feel better, but if you have the money do whatever
I changed from iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 16 Pro Max and it is so powerful and fast. Especially the 8GB RAM is a whole other level of comfort.
I would preorder an iPad Pro with the 16PM’s screen to bezel ratio. That display looks incredible.

Incredible how beast the iPhone 13 Pro Max is still. And that characterizes Apple that all its generations in a certain time will continue to be machines and that’s when you start to think that you should not consider change if not in a long time.

Personally I still find my 14 Pro Max more premium and expensive-looking device than 15 Pro Max or even 16 Pro Max. Unexpectedly titanium gives me cheaper feeling while holding the phone in my hands. I really love that 14 Pro Max is pretty heavy and that it is the last iPhone which has that classical ring/silent switch.
I think the 16 pro series is the 13 series like year but in 2024. Good battery life, thermals, and overall solid performance. It’s not really an 11 series year because the 11s brought major redesign to the cameras.
