Im in the same position. Should i go with the AW3423dwf or should i get the M32U. Then i look at the price an think i would be stupid not spending 150€ more and get the AW3423dwf... and then there is burn-in... so difficult @@shark880079
Amazing QD-OLED monitor!! Just bought mines yesterday and love it!! Fantastic picture quality! This monitor has brought gaming to a new level. Beautiful colors and inky blacks!! Then it’s has a bright picture. Ultra widescreen 21:9 is the way to go. It makes gaming so much better. I could never go back to a regular 16:9 monitor nor a non OLED monitor.
Personally I don't think 4k gaming is worth it just yet.. maybe if you're playing only older games but the way current games run in general even on high end hardware (not well optimized and likely can't even run at 4k 144fps unless heavily upscaled) and the only 4k OLED displays with similar refresh rates (only 120hz) are TVs right now which are larger and a bit more expensive. There are some 4k 240hz OLED displays coming q1 2024 but expect them to be very expensive.
I think where the LG and samusng versions of this excel is that it has a remote. if you are using this as a main PC monitor only its not a huge deal, but for csonsoles i like the conveince of being ab le to switch it easily.
Should i get this or the lg ultrawide with 240hz. The curve is less aggressive on the alienware and qd oled is nicer looking and brighter. But im just worried about missing out on 240hz. I have 4080 super so I could run 240 fps.
Depends what kind of games you play i guess. If you play competitive games and need 240 then go for it. The qd OLED looks better for color brightness and saturation. So it'll probably be better for games where fps doesn't matter so much
i have the dwf right next to a window and unless you shine a flashlight directly at the screen you dont even notice or even visibly see a difference in the black level/greys. speaking from experience i dont know what reviewers are talking about... thats such a niche example that i dont understand even mentioning it, only .5% of people are going to blare a studio light at their monitor. dont do that
I suggestion get you eye check go to opticians I has issue with monitor due to the prism strength in glass it had changed when prescription was update my nauseous when away when gaming also I find it best to turn off motion blur
I mean.. if you can afford the g9 at twice the price of the Alienware you may want to look at the 45 inch LG ultra gear ultrawide OLED which is cheaper than the g9 and it's out already. The g9 looks like a hell of a monitor though.
hey elder trolls gaming. might be useful to provide some info in oled reviews on what sort of usage/conditions cause burn-in. ie a static image for more than 10 mins causes it, or avoid viewing content with logos in corner of screen for more than an hour etc..
Thanks for the comment! i wanted to focus more on the monitor itself not the various qualms of OLED technologies which are already pretty widely known i'd say at this point.
Man im really considering this monitor... Im sure it would be awesome but could get high end VA for 50% of price.. actually few days ago bought high end ultrawide IPS Acer Predator but maan Black levels are so poor that im going to return it right away😁 that was 900€ so now im wondering should i pay bit more and get this or save money and buy good VA panel for ~600€
@@ElderTrollsGaming Yea thats very true but VA black levels are alright but IPS oh man that was absolutely horrible after years of not using IPS. This monitor is pretty expensive but people say its worth every penny so i guess im going to buy it! Burn in seems to be only con to these oleds but honestly i have had many OLED smartphones without any issues ever so dont think its nowdays as big worry as people make it out to be
@@ElderTrollsGaming thats good to hear! This truly seems like no compromises monitor, i will look up best deal around my area and buy one. Thanks for replying👍
Glad u made fun of the burn in thing. The same people terrified about getting burn in dont even realize their phone more than likely also has a OLED display and their phone has been fine for years now.
PS5 won't fill the screen. Any footage playing games full ultrawide mode are PC games. The PS5 games were the ones with black bars on the left and right.
Got this 2 days ago. It absolutely demolishes my IPS panel. It aint even funny. The contrast, the colours, the response times... it is an graphical update that feels like the clock moved 10 years ahead all of a sudden. I use the creator mode 2.4 gamma srgb, gives the most natural picture compared to the oversaturated standard mode, hdr is a hit and a miss, but can look good in games like Cyberpunk and msf flightsimulator. Not that worried about burn in, only use it for games, almost zero web browsing or YT content. RTINgs crushed this screen with static 16:9 CNN footage for 5000 hours continously (who does that...), which gave some burn in that improved after going back fullscreen acoording to RTINGS. That is 5 years usage for me, and I do not use static picture like RTINGS, so not much worries about burn in.
I love OLED... But I hate bad pixel ensity, and I hate needing 3 monitors when I really just want to have 1. But 1440p on a 38" or larger monitor is really bad pixel density, or the monitor is physically not tall enough to my liking. I want a 5120x2880 that's about 45" and curved, and has to be OLED and has to be DP 2.1. It doesn't exist, and there's no rumor of it coming. I would drop $3500+ on one if it existed.
Nice monitor but the problem with these super high end monitors has always been the game quality. League of legends, pub g, fortnite, cs go and call of duty are only gonna look marginally better on a 1000 dollar monitor as on a 300 dollar monitor. As those are the most played games of 2022 these monitors are a nice niche for the hardcore gamer, for most a waste of money. Also you only need 240hz if you're trying to earn a living professionally playing shooters. 99% of the population wouldn't even notice the difference while playing. Good video guys.
I disagree on the marginally better comment. OLED looks much... Much better than a regular LED panel! My last monitor was a $600 monitor and this one is much better I would say a $600 monitor is only marginally better than a $300 monitor though. I think 165hz is the sweet spot. I'd never buy a monitor because it has 240hz because most systems can't Even run that many FPS and if you are then you're turning the graphics down and it looks like shit
I've used LCD monitors my whole life and when I bought the non F version of this one even my wife who is not a techie noticed the difference in quality, clarity and colors. High end OLED's are just on another level.
What are your thoughts on Ultrawide or OLED monitors?! Will they become more mainstream? Let us know 👇
with the burn in issues....nope
Having this monitor changed my life. 😅 gaming will never be the same
I'm so excited. I ordered the AW3423dwf and it has to stand up to the M32U. 16:9 4K ips vs. Wqhd Oled may the battle begin

Ya the ultra wide is great..the only issue i have with it is that its not ideal for recording clips and streaming as most people watching use 16:9!
I was browsing for reviews and stumbled on your review. I just got mine and it is totally worth the $$$
Nice man!! yes it is sick I've been loving it so far. - Jono
yup this review has convinced me ima go get one of these monitors asap
I want a flat oled ultrawide with few connections and potentially the power supply built outside of the monitor so it can be as flat as possible.
That'd be interesting! Hopefully the price goes down on these panels so companies start to give us more options
loved the video and review, have had this monitor since apriil and still amazes me how good it is.
How is it with PS5? I have a high end pc and was wondering how it is with console
obviously just at great capped at 120hz, but you will have black bars as ps5 doesnt support ultrawide aspect@@BigDavos
DWF or the LG34 240hz?
torn between the two monitor, I will pair them with 7900xtx
Do you think theirs a huge difference between this and a true 4k display?
