I have some noticeable banding on my AW3225QF with dark grays. It's most visible and distracting in a black room with all lights turned off, but is still visible with lights on and looks like reflections off the screen when panning the camera around in games with a lot of dark gray content, such as Resident Evil 2 Remake. I checked some dark gray test slides on TH-cam and determined that on my unit, this is a noticeable issue up to about 25% gray, but is most obvious below 12% gray. I am wondering if you or others have this issue as well. My Aw3423dwf doesn't do this. It only has some really minor dark grey banding that is hardly a distraction, but this new 4k panel looks far worse in this regard. At 5% gray, it looks like one of those old LG CX TVs almost with dark patches and stripes all over the place. Such a shame, as it is an otherwise very uniform and amazing looking monitor.

@@JacobDarkOfficial So the sRGB looks good? There is another channel that's saying that it looks terrible and is bad for editing, I'm not planning on using it as a PC monitor, Im planning on just gaming on consoles, and mostly on HDR.
I can see that, colors are saturated in a good way for gameplay. Does it help you when I buy it from Dell Germany? I got redirected. The monitor is awesome. It only blacked out a few time a week ago. But now it's fine again.
I've always had an IPS panel but once I booted up an OLED monitor, the first thing I noticed were the absolute perfect viewing angles. Even when looking straight at the monitor, each corner looked bright and vivid. That's the moment when I fell in love with OLED.
It would be an instant winner if it were flat. Curved screens are fine on Ultrawides, but a 16:9 screen just doesn't need it. People have been begging for a 32inch, 4k oled flat screen for a couple years. Alienware was so close.
It’s also 1700rr which honestly isn’t bad at all. I tried a 32” Dell S3222DGM and honestly loved it. I mainly play shooters though so I dropped back to a 27” to see easier.
I’m in the same boat. Looking to get the 27 inch 1440p QD-Oled. Going above 27 inch for competitive games like CS and games like Tarkov where your peripheral vision is important, makes going above 27 inches kinda sucks. Really just depends on the kind of games you play.
@@JacobDarkOfficialthanks for the answer. This kind of eliminates that monitor for me by default unfortunately. I use the screenbar halo from benq and its absolutely essential to me

But play MW3 a lot and would like a higher than 165hz, already capping my frames. Im on a rtx 4090 laptop with 7945hx cpu, can get 220 fps on the ultrawide/
Can you try installing the BenQ Halo Lightbar's curved monitor adapter (included) and confirm whether or not it addresses the light bleed issue? It doesn't appear that you have the curved monitor adapter installed in the light bar section of the video.

i thought it turned out the asus isnt actually glossy, it was a glossy cover they put on the screen? i think they are all matte. msi, aw, gigabyte are the only true glossy screens.
This one is glossy, and I think the only glossy asus one is using a qd oled panel similar to this. All the WOLED variants are black. As far as I have seen though asus was only releasing the 1440p 360hz qd oled and that will be the only glossy panel. The rest are Matte WOLED

I did that with Best Buy a few years ago where I'd buy things to review then return and guess I abused it too much; they eventually banned me from returning lol. Trying to avoid that again. The goal would be to get Dell to recognize my existence and send me one to review.... one day!
Hard to say what's the best, I'd personally go for a non oled panel for editing purposes but if gaming is a big deal to you this monitor excels in that area so it could be used for both and you can be comfortable with Dells 3 year replacement warranty

@JacobDarkOfficial it may be better, but who uses a TV soundbar bar on their computer desk? Also, what would it of cost dell like $5 dollars. It is a deal breaker for me. Do you have any suggestions for a smaller sound bar with earc? Awesome video by the way
The only thing I don’t like about AW is that they don’t have proper firmware upgrade support. Had the AW2721D for 2 years plus now and the only way to upgrade/update the firmware is to replace the monitor thru Dell.

Hey jacob Which GPU are u using?
4080
Came for the review subbed for the amazing vin diesel joke 😂
Welcome!
I’m trying to choose between this monitor or samsung g8 oled for gaming… not sure which one is better 🤷🏽♂️
Haven't tried the Samsung but you won't be disappointed with this one.
MSI or Asus one
I wish, on 6th day of delayed FedEx, love it
Don't even get me started with Fedex, I've had plenty of bad experiences with them!
@@JacobDarkOfficial lol glad I’m not the only one, the wait is unbearable
I've always had an IPS panel but once I booted up an OLED monitor, the first thing I noticed were the absolute perfect viewing angles. Even when looking straight at the monitor, each corner looked bright and vivid. That's the moment when I fell in love with OLED.
Which one do you recommend
This one
Or msi or asus 32 OLED ones ?
Haven't tried the ASUS but for me I'd buy the Alienware, that eArc HDMI is a big deal to me, if you decide to buy I'd appreciate you using my link!
It would be an instant winner if it were flat. Curved screens are fine on Ultrawides, but a 16:9 screen just doesn't need it. People have been begging for a 32inch, 4k oled flat screen for a couple years. Alienware was so close.
I believe either Samsung or LG has a flat one on the way
It’s also 1700rr which honestly isn’t bad at all. I tried a 32” Dell S3222DGM and honestly loved it. I mainly play shooters though so I dropped back to a 27” to see easier.
Asus have flat scren ROG 32 PG32UCDM
Waiting for this same panel tech but in a flat 27 inch body
No
I’m in the same boat. Looking to get the 27 inch 1440p QD-Oled. Going above 27 inch for competitive games like CS and games like Tarkov where your peripheral vision is important, makes going above 27 inches kinda sucks. Really just depends on the kind of games you play.
Does it have speakers or you need headphones?
Does your screenbar reflect on the top edge of the monitors because its curved and glossy?
With an OLED panel yes so I no longer use the front light and just use the backlight for ambient lighting
@@JacobDarkOfficialthanks for the answer. This kind of eliminates that monitor for me by default unfortunately. I use the screenbar halo from benq and its absolutely essential to me
Gotcha yea that's what I use too
Is this 2nd or 3rd gen QD oled?
is this a good monitor for only ps5 ?
It's amazing for PS5. I'd super appreciate you using my link if you decide to buy, if you do please let me know you did, I'm just setting up my affiliate links with Dell and need to confirm they're working correctly.
Which HDR are you using? What are your image settings?
Display HDR True Black, didn't really adjust much for this video just kept it on standard
@@JacobDarkOfficialthanks man
If they can remove burn-in I would buy one, I play MMO's so it has static images
Yea I hear you, picture quality is great but hopefully one day OLED reaches a point where burn in isn't a thing.
I've had an OLED for over a year and have played hundreds on top of hundreds of hours of WoW and not a problem at all yet. Plus three year warranty for any type of burn in.
I use a Bose s1 pro will that still connect to the monitor ?
How loud is the active cooling fan near the vents?
I never noticed any fan noise
Im assuming you run a 4090? I have a 3090 but i do plan on going 5090 within two years idk whether to juat get this and do what i can or get the 27 and run 360
4080
No as it only have display port 1.4. It can't push more than 144hz on 4k.
@@AqepbxVondx yeah but it can use DSC.
@@JacobDarkOfficial Thanks for answering and thanks for the vid.
With compression you can.
However, even 144hz is enough in my opinion, and Im not sure if even rtx 5090 will be able to run above it in new Unreal Engine 5 games. (without DLSS)@@AqepbxVondx
Supported🎉
Is there a toggle for Adaptive Sync like a On or Off I can't use the thing on my LG it makes me blink.
Where can you buy this in the uk??
If it's available my link should work
@@JacobDarkOfficial doesn't appear to be available in the UK:( weird:(
@@vader2697 hopefully soon
just return it instead of reselling it…
I used to do that with Best Buy and they eventually wouldn't let me return things anymore, figured the same would happen.
@@JacobDarkOfficial I recommend trying that with Costco, if they have in stock obvi.
Can I use it with 1440 p
Could you show how bad the text fringing is on this?
Its very good, mind blow depth blacks , but colors to get u need high level of brightness and contrast, after fer hours my eye ball hurt, good light in room, i stay back to my Dell G3223D its best :]
I have one of these on order. I will use it to play MW3 with my newly built by me 4090/7800x3d.
It is replacing my Samsung 32" Odyssey G7 240hz.
I will set it so that it turns off after 5 minutes if not being used....I do this with all my monitors.
Almost went with the 27" AW2725DF at 360Hz/1440P. But decided I'll see what fps I can get at 4k.
If it's too low...I'll get the 27" instead.
Let me know which one you stick with!
Hey, I would appreciate your input about the AW32 oled 240hz, did you keep it or went with the 27 inch 360hz 1440p version? I am considering the aw32 , currently im on the ultrawide 34 oled version. But play MW3 a lot and would like a higher than 165hz, already capping my frames. Im on a rtx 4090 laptop with 7945hx cpu, can get 220 fps on the ultrawide/
Im waiting for the gigabyte 4k oled because of displayport 2.1
I'll put it on my list 💯
Can you try installing the BenQ Halo Lightbar's curved monitor adapter (included) and confirm whether or not it addresses the light bleed issue?
It doesn't appear that you have the curved monitor adapter installed in the light bar section of the video.
How much you selling for?!?
I had a buyer lined up before I even had it delivered lol, typically I sell for 30% off retail. Keep your eyes open because I'm trying to do more monitors this year
If you end up grabbing one through Dell I'd super appreciate you using my link!
This is the one I want, but you are going to be selling yours at a $300 loss?
Already sold unfortunately but if you're going to buy it would help the channel greatly if you used my link!
is there a non curve version?
Nope
@@JacobDarkOfficial darn. Well hopefully they can make one soon. I really want to get a good oled. IPS screens give me bad headaches due to the contrast not being dark enough.
Is it too glossy? Like will I be seeing myself in the screen if I'm playing a game with a lot of dark scenes while in my dark office???
Absolutely not. I have a dark room and had zero issue with reflection and have a decent amount of LED lighting around my room. Should you decide to buy I'd super appreciate you using my link
@@JacobDarkOfficialthats 210 BLLV?
If im pluggin ps5 with hdmi , i need another hdmi arc cable connected right? To the monitor and speakers
Yea plug in the PS5 in the NON eArc port and connect the eArc HDMI port to your soundbar
Mine should be here by the 26th
No audio output??
What about this alienware 32" oled vs the Asus PG32UCDM ?
Haven't tried the ASUS so can't comment
I have the Alienware dark of the Moon version an love it its a uttrawide 34inch. So for Alienware to come out with a measly 32 inch is a big MEH. they need to at least step ot up to 40 to 43 inch Ultrawide or just stop it.
Ima get the glossy asus one tbh
i thought it turned out the asus isnt actually glossy, it was a glossy cover they put on the screen? i think they are all matte. msi, aw, gigabyte are the only true glossy screens.
This one is glossy, and I think the only glossy asus one is using a qd oled panel similar to this. All the WOLED variants are black. As far as I have seen though asus was only releasing the 1440p 360hz qd oled and that will be the only glossy panel. The rest are Matte WOLED
@@zweihander7465 ASUS QD-OLED is glossy. ASUS WOLED is matte.
All QD-OLED panels are glossy except for Samsung's (Samsung Electronics not Samsung Display). All WOLED panels are matte.
@@zweihander7465that was the LG panel one you are talking about. There are 2 ASUS ones coming QD OLED and WOLED. The Asus PQ32UCDM (QD OLED) uses the same Samsung Display panel as this alienware one, it’s flat, and is glossy. Hope that helps
Do hdmi 2.1/ DP 1.4 has dsc for 240 hz?
Yes they do!
@Danny1024DM do you notice the it the 32" in term of visual? Thanks dude
That works perfectly. No visual differences
@@Danny1024DM good to know. Thanks you!
how well would I be able to run games at 1440p instead of 4k using thi smonitor? will it look like crap?
It should not look like crap, I game in 1440p all the time on my ultrawide and it's fantastic.
@@JacobDarkOfficial good to know thanks
Anyone who's using this monitor mostly for productivity, please share your thoughts if it's worth buying.
what if you review and return? So you don't have to keep losing money
I did that with Best Buy a few years ago where I'd buy things to review then return and guess I abused it too much; they eventually banned me from returning lol. Trying to avoid that again. The goal would be to get Dell to recognize my existence and send me one to review.... one day!
Does this monitor have a scanline issue at 4k 240hz with DP DSC like the Samsung Neo g8?
No scan lines.
so what's be the best monitor for video editing (non 4k) and for gaming (mostly Fortnite)?
Hard to say what's the best, I'd personally go for a non oled panel for editing purposes but if gaming is a big deal to you this monitor excels in that area so it could be used for both and you can be comfortable with Dells 3 year replacement warranty
@@JacobDarkOfficial thank you for your advice
how do you do to show that hz/fps counter on the monitor?
4:47
@@JacobDarkOfficialdo u have hdr off or on on console ??
@@joaquinarchivaldoguzmanloe1073 For this video I had it off, personal preference really
@@JacobDarkOfficial ok so if have hdr on on console should i set it up to hdr 1000?
Does anyone knows how this monitor works with AMD gpus ?
why does it beep 3 times every minute, had it for 3 weeks now its making noise unless its unplugged :( thanks kind folks
I didn't have any kind of beeping, contact Dell and have them send you a replacement.
@@JacobDarkOfficial so you think its broken?
Maybe but the beeping isn't normal, support should be able to help
I See there is No freesynch. Can i use IT with my AMD Card?
Release in Germany ?
Check with Dell
Where you located? I’ll buy once you’re done. 😂
Ha, San Antonio Texas, home of the once great Spurs
@@JacobDarkOfficial Very nice. Hope you find someone near you. I’m in MI, would consider PayPal G&S, but totally understand if you rather sell local.
@CarnivoryHODL Had someone lined up before it was delivered and already sold it lol BUT it would mean a lot if you used my link to buy! I'm grabbing the 27" next and plan at least a few more monitor reviews this year with comparable QD-OLEDs from different brands
The monitor woule be perfect if it had an 3.5mm jack audio out port. What a shame especially for people who also us their consoles on their monitors.
I actually prefer the eARC port. Mid to high end soundbars have much better quality than mid to high end computer speakers.
@JacobDarkOfficial it may be better, but who uses a TV soundbar bar on their computer desk? Also, what would it of cost dell like $5 dollars.
It is a deal breaker for me. Do you have any suggestions for a smaller sound bar with earc?
Awesome video by the way
Right now i just use the 3.5mm out of the controller as a workaround to get sound out of my consoles.
@jonnyhaze man that's such a bummer. I'll probably get the msi version of this panel or the Samsung when they release.
What does using a console have to do with 3.5? My Xbox uses hdmi as far as I know
Where do you sell at after your done with your products I’ll buy them lol (GO BIRDS SAQUON BARKLEY BABY LFG)
Usually on FB marketplace locally GO BIRDS!
@@JacobDarkOfficial okay!
The only thing I don’t like about AW is that they don’t have proper firmware upgrade support. Had the AW2721D for 2 years plus now and the only way to upgrade/update the firmware is to replace the monitor thru Dell.
Not true, only gsync ultimate monitors can't. This one can from my understanding
Who don't have a monitor at the moment, better buy first gen QD-OLED at half price, don't believe all stories about new qd oled
