My original ZFold 4 protector starting detaching on the seam after 2 weeks in a cold country. I took it to Samsung Vietnam (where I bought it) and they wouldn’t replace it for free, saying it is an accessory. So, I had to buy a new protector (at about $25). Before the technician put it on he warned that it might start coming off again as soon as 1 week! I didn’t believe him, of course, but it is doing exactly that. Well, I refuse to buy new screen protectors every month, so I don’t see any other choice than removing it permanently.

I absolutely advise not to remove it! I did it on my ZF3 and after a few weeks the crease was completely scratched, I had to buy a new one after that... I removed mine because I'd seen someone like this guy doing it. I will never remove it again.

@@arifzworld Well that depends on how you takecare of it. I have a rugged case that has a slot for the pen at the hidge. Dropped many times even in water. It's still in pristine condition. @C4AJ 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@arifzworld, this is how your suppose to use the fold phone. The outside screen is when you're actually busy and doing other shit with your phone, so the chances of dropping and scratching it is higher. The middle screen is for when you're more relaxing watching videos or muti tasking less risk of dropping or scratching the phone. If you follow the ways I said, your screen will never see scratches. Also, make sure to always close your fold screen when not in use.

Hey! Great channel! I have a suggestion! How about a video with things that samsung should improve on the fold 4?
    I have 2 simple ideas:
1- a quick way to change between full screen and 16:9 for the apps (instagram works fine in full screen, but the stories dont) a little button to change the aspect ratio of the app on the corner of the screen would be great!
2- An option to use the fingerprint touch to take photos... this would be nice when we are using the main camera on selfie mode!
    Cheers from Brazil!

App related issues should be adjusted by the apps not the Samsung, if the app the dev team of app can try to create a compatibility device phone development then that resolves that issue.

Overtime the adhesive on the protected will pull the screen and crack it no? Such as cold environment the plastic on the protector will harden and damage the screen no? I agree with greggles and one day will take mine off too.

@@SKILLS4FRILLS I'm happy to say I didn't have a problem with the screen on the Fold 3 all year. The Fold 4 seems just as durable if not more. Like i said, I put the S-PEN to the test on the unfolded screen and it's held up nicely. I'm a truck driver, so I was mainly a Galaxy Note user every year. Thought it would be a hard transition to a Fold, but it is a great phone. Always kept an Otterbox case on my Notes, so I don't mind having a thick case on phones. Been using the Supcase UB PRO on the Fold 3 and 4 and it protects them well. They hold the S-PEN in the hinge, so it still feels like I have a Note. I once dropped the Fold 3 unfolded with the SupCase on it, and I was surprised that it wasn't damaged. Had the Fold 4 for a couple of weeks, and it's just as nice

My screen protector on my Z Fold 3 peeled down the middle, and the loose part of the protector in the centre fold started to crack. Next thing the screen cracked down the middle. And Samsung wants the best part of £500 to repair it. I feel it's a warranty claim, as I've not damaged it, but they are claiming some tiny scratches on the rear of the phone, yes the REAR, invalidates the warranty! The phone looks immaculate.

Has anyone else developed De-quervains in your thumb from opening & closing the z fold? I had the first one & after using for about 2 mos...I was having excruciating pain & dr & I deduced it was from the extremely tight hinge& the technique required to open it. Doing so throughout the day - out undue pressure onmy left thumb & dr said get this caused the de quervains tenosynovitis. Had to stop using it, had to wear a brace & had 6 mos of physical therapy & nightly hand exercises & heat sessions - it was not a fun time. Thankfully, I avoided surgery & painful cortisone shots which were recommended early on- but the pain is now finally gone. Im actually researching & reconsidering the new z fold 4 - but curious if anyone else has existing a similar issue. Is the new one easier to open? I'm reconsidering it, because it was the best phone for the way I use my phone - but definitely don't want to go through that ordeal again.😔

almost all of the screen protectors were incorrectly designed to apply vertically over the crease, and are to stiff to flex.
The latest versions are made to correctly start inside the crease, and squeegee out horizontally. Still, you must make sure they are the softer "self healing " type. Those also will not have fingerprints and show less center crease.

It's the screen protector moving around. That's why the old gens eventually bubbled up. When you fold/unfold the device it puts strain on the screen protector. Assuming that's why gen 4's is more sticky, to prevent it from separating over time. Or at least buying it more time .

I removed mine because it was cracking down the middle. Sound went away and then came right back. Must be something in the hinge. It does open and closed more easily. Failed putting on the whitestone dome twice (have pop socket like thing on the back so it not sitting flat probably contributed to inability to seal). Stays much cleaner (no fingerprints) without the screen protector. The surface, oddly, is less appealing than the OG screen protector and especially the whitestone. Unless there's a lot of oil on your fingers, it tends to catch a bit. Crease is slightly less visible and colors seem to pop more. As long as I keep dirt out of the middle and am diligent about cleaning it *gently* I think it'll last at least until I'm ready to upgrade to the fold 6

I think I does. I've had a fold 2 and 3. Also 2 flip 3's (one I bought, and one sammy gave for my job) and also now a flip 4 and I rip all of them off and you'll get less finger prints and I think the screen feels better with touch and responsiveness.

@@rainersta7073 I think the fold 4 would be a great upgrade. The camera alone would be a reason to upgrade. You get the s22 cameras. If you watch a lot of videos or play video games, you'll enjoy the inside camera being filled in with some pixels to fill your screen out. I would do it

@@DannyBlackstock. thx Danny ....You remember that Greg was not too excited by fold 3 coming from fold 2. We all expected S21 ultra camera setup, wider front screen, integrated s pen. None of this happened. Yes...there were about 20 little improvements....mainly waterresistance and s pen possibility. Except waterresistance there was nothing to me, making me really hot and throwing my fold 2 away. In a way it ' s same here again. Still not S22 Ultra setup....mainly brighter screen for sun usage (great) and longer battery live. (great)
I was already at the edge to order and trade my S10 plus in. But still remaining 1300 Euros/Dollars😳....i was absolutely not sure, that i wouldn t be disappointed. When i bought Z fold 2 ist was a big shift coming from my s 20 ultra. And as i ordered it two months before start of Z fold 3 it was a real good deal. Less than the 1300 now....with no trade in....And there are still open wishes like wider frontscreen and 2 optical zoom lenses, bigger battery and integrated S Pen. Think i 'll wait for z fold 5 (my fold 2 works great) or at least for a deal at the end of Z fold 4 cycle.

I took mine off because after a year it started to delaminate and I was actually worried there was something wrong with the phone itself because I didn't even know that this plastic was on the inside screen anyway I've had it for a long time now it was looking and Performing terribly it's only the first day so all I can really comment is I only did this because it started to delaminate itself I don't know how delicate this internal screen is but it looks 100% brand new and I'm not going to put a new one on if I don't have to

almost all of the screen protectors were incorrectly designed to apply vertically over the crease, and are to stiff to flex.
The latest versions are made to correctly start inside the crease, and squeegee out horizontally. Still, you must make sure they are the softer "self healing " type. Those also will not have fingerprints and show less center crease.
