Steven Gundry MD Dr Gundry, One my favorite places to eat is TAP, The Asian Project in Burbank, I get the rice noodles which is a big no-no I know, but I also love love love their curry sauce, Tonight I made the miracle noodles with the ground quorn and pasture grass fed butter and olive oil and siracha fermented but I do miss the curry sauce. How can I make curry lectin free and a Gundry approved?
Preparation Recap: 1 - Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. 2- Remove your noodles from the package and rinse under cold running water for 2-3 minutes. 3- Transfer noodles to boiling water and cook 2-3 minutes. 4. Transfer to a dry pan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring to dry out the noodles. NOTE: you'll hear them pop & sizzle. That is the noodles drying out. The LONGER you do that (stirring while hearing the popping), the more they will taste like ""pasta"" as you know it. 5- Follow the rest of the recipe as intended .
I love this for my late night dinners! I let it sit in cold water for 2-3 mins, boiled for 5 mins, sauteed with soy sauce and veggies. The tough texture was gone!
Dear Dr gundry, great tips, thanks a lot for this. I however experienced heavy stomach pains while digesting. Happens every time I ate a whole 200g pack during dinner. I strongly recommend to half the portions in order to avoid such pains.
BEST video I could have EVER asked for to understand this~ I am full of tumors so I can't thank you enough. Being taught techniques to replace some of my old favorite dishes will help me keep on my scripturally clean, organic ketogenic way of eating if everything works out. You are so kind to make such a professional video that anyone can understand. Even though you are a doctor, I am subscribing! lol You seem like a doctor who really cares. THANK YOU!
Bought a pack of the Angel Hair version at Whole Foods today. Followed your instructions and added them to spaghetti sauce with ground beef my wife made and it wasn't bad. Plan to go back tomorrow and buy more.
Found these at our local Bargain Hunt. Since I have to back off the carbs, it was hard simply because I love pasta, rice, and all the works. Prepared the pasta with a veal meat sauce and the family simply loved it. You are full but you do not feel overwhelmed by the carbs and that crash afterwards. Great alternative to pasta. I have ordered more for my meal prep. Great!!!!!
Just tried these for the first time and was eating these with alfredo sauce. I...don't think I cooked them long enough on my pan as they were very, very chewy and gelatin like lol. Oh well. I have another bag to try and will definitely fry them longer since they are the fettuccine style.
Thank you Dr Gundry, excellent how to video for cooking Shataki miracle noodles - it came out perfect! Great to know the noodles feed the good bugs!!! Stay well!!!
Wow, thanks for showing us the miracle noodles and how to prepare them. That is exciting! Your videos are sooooo helpful! Noodles out of tubers, impressive!
I ordered from bulk supply the konjac powder ... I also make my pwn noodles using pickling lime . A huge savings and I’m still experimenting on this . A devious product Konjac noodles are a gift from God !
I’m on Doug Kaufman’s diet, since I had fungal issues, and my holistic dentist recommended your diet to prevent periodontal problems (not sure why), but this helps with things I can eat. I’d like to see how I can put together your diet with the Kaufman diet. Thanks!!
i use these all the time and prepare them in a similar manner; however instead of frying i put them in the microwave to dry them out--quicker and easier method; i also do intermittent fasting and have read that you can have up to 50 calories during fasting periods, so if i get hungry i prepare a package of the noodles -- all varieties -- in the microwave; when they're dry i add salt substitute and erithrotol sweetener (sorry but i do use sweetner or i would never be able to diet) and have a full package of the noodles with a bottle of diet orange soda. this is filling and satisfying and way under 50 calories and can carry me thru the morning easily. for meals i prepare them the same way and add salt free tomateo paste and fish or some other protein plus a vegetable on the side for a filling and satisfying meal. sometimes i add melted fat-free cheese as a topping and voila -- i have a healthy, low calorie delicious and satisfying italian dinner
I love that its a "Miracle Product" great prices are gonna go up. This has been eaten for centuries.... Go to a local asainmarket and ask for konnyaku noodles you can get a ton for nothing. I'm just looking for recipes...
Like your blog posts very much. Am wondering though, you talk about putting the noodles into the "salted" boiling water, but you don't tell us how much salt to put into what volume of water! One teaspoon to a quart? Half teaspoon to two quarts? What is the ratio? Don't want to simply make them very salty!
Unless you live near an Asian supermarket and can buy the Chinese or Japanese ones, these noodles are overpriced. It's just not worth it. Zucchini noodles are a cheaper alternative if you buy a Vegetti and zucchini by the pound.
Step 1... SALT water??? Wont that negate the fact that you're buying noodles with basically nothing in them? The first step is to raise your blood pressure? Why can't you just boil regular water?

Lmao I followed the instructions on the package. That's why I'm here now lol
I made these noodles today and tasted just like any great pasta dish. I ate 4x what a normal meal would be and was still 1/2 the calories. #noguilt
