Its the theme song. What an insane easter egg... did Airdorf play those games? Update: Messaged Airdorf, they have not heard of Ambition, its just a known song from before both these games.
Good ear! Though, the original song is Erik Satie's Gnossienne No.1, so it could just be a coincidence. Would love if it was actually a reference though.
one of the most unique parts of vinny's playthrough is he sees the "It's going to be alright Father Ward" cutscene which isnt even in Manlybadasshero's video!

Airdorf Games didn't need to make this awesome, unique game but they wanted to. And they outdid themselves. I always loved the rotoscope closeups since the first Faith. Really cool concept
Legendary series that began from what seems like forever ago. A lot of these games just fade away but it's really something that it's been expanded upon like this, and here we are. Happy Halloween lads.
Something I appreciate a lot about Vinny is how little he talks while playing games compared to other streamers/tubers. He's enjoying the game and not shouting over cutscenes or tense moments and it's really pleasant and nice.
yeah its awesome he's not all "OOOOOOOH MY GOOOD CAN YOU FRIGGIN BELIEVE THIS OH GOD" when a character gets injured. or looking at the webcam with an exaggerated expression when something is reveled in a game
im awful with scary things but this was so captivating i had to see it through, thank you so much for letting me experience it through you vinny, and thank you airdorf for making such a unique and beautifully ambient experience
Very funny how when Vinny was like "FAITH 64" and the end credits music transitioned into that ending phase. Now, I'm not gonna beg Airdorf for that, as he's already worked hard enough on this amazing game, but gosh I'd love to see a wish like that come true. Just like Vinny, I feel honored to have my name in the credits of this game too, even if it doesn't really mean much. Such an awesome game, awesome developer, and awesome community.
That true final boss theme is really good stuff, and I can hear the Doom Eternal inspiration in it, sounds a lot like a slower and more deliberate version of "The Only Thing They Fear is You". The chanting of the two demons' names in the same bitcrushed voices as the rest of the game is the cherry on top.
@@crowedarken The second demon name being chanted is "Astaroth". Which makes sense, Malphas is apparently the toothy-faced free floating demon, while Astaroth is probably Gary's true name, so the song is chanting their names to reflect that they're the combined final boss.
Watched this and previous 2 parts from years ago for 2022 Halloween and it was great, super insanely creepy atmosphere, genuinely got to me with its style. Deceptively good game, glad you played it
I've waited years for this and it was so worth the wait. I loved every second of chapter 3. Finally, I can rest now that I know Vinny is a normal human being, just like you and me.
Alternatively, it turns from a materialistic gold to a purifying silver and finally, instead of bronze, it turns to wood like the original cross. Through trial, his faith is tested and tempered.
Jokes aside, Faith 64 sounds like such a fun and cool idea. I love this series so much, I would love to see another game, even if a spiritual successor. I think fixed camera angles would work really well, make it Resident Evil esque.
@@LostSoulSilver the files do have a couple gifs and a video of a psx-style father garcia and airdorf has talked about continuing the series so hey there's that
01:52:54 "la pieta' corrotta", which would translate, from Italian, to "the corrupted pieta"; the "pieta" is a reaccuring image of the Virgin Mary in Catholicism in which Mary usually holds the dead body of her son Jesus after his death on the cross. 03:07:12 before the cross; he cries to God in the Gestsemani (the garden of olive trees), saying afterwards "but not mine, but Thy will be done", thus accepting his role in the cosmic tragedy of the crucifixion.
Very few modern games are as scary this, I'm still impressed, and that predator handshake at the very end was the perfect cherry at the top, good stuff.
"Good luck getting a 5 dollar ticket to anything these days" To be fair, the game takes place in 1987, so adjusted for inflation it's more like 13 dollars

Pazuzu was done so dirty. I get that the Exorcist is a great movie, but seeing the Americans smear such an ancient icon makes me sad.
Same with Isis. Not a coincidence.
I'm gonna say that Pazuzu was ruined by The Exorcist 2, which was just one of the worst goddamn things put to cellulose.
I like how a demon was supposed to protect humans from other demons. As if the idea was to use "evil" to fight evil, like one should/will never fully subdue the other. Very Tao.

2:22:56 Man, the homage to Silent Hill 1 in the level is amazing. The imagery of winding alleyways with dead bodies hanging on chain link fences, the way you aquire your light source, just... **chef's kiss**. The music even sounds like a bit-crushed version of "Patient" from the OST.
a bit earlier there was also an homage to silent hill 3's mirror room !
How the hell anyone noticed that was the loss comic by seeing seven lines on a curtain kind of blows me away.
At this point the seven lines are more iconic than the comic itself

Faith is one of the most brilliant horror games of the last decade, and it's thanks to Vinny that I know it exists at all.
This, Signalis, and Observation give me renewed faith (hah pun) that some people still get what horror is, in a sea of half-assed AAAs.

I have been wracking my brain all day about the song at 9:44, I have heard it before. i thought it was just from the prequels but then it hit me... this song is from an old flash series called "Ambition", watching the first episode of the Retsupurae video it pops up like 10 seconds in. Its the theme song. What an insane easter egg... did Airdorf play those games?
Update: Messaged Airdorf, they have not heard of Ambition, its just a known song from before both these games.

I know the first demon's name is Malphas, but what was the second one in the lyrics?
@@crowedarken The second demon name being chanted is "Astaroth". Which makes sense, Malphas is apparently the toothy-faced free floating demon, while Astaroth is probably Gary's true name, so the song is chanting their names to reflect that they're the combined final boss.

01:52:54 "la pieta' corrotta", which would translate, from Italian, to "the corrupted pieta"; the "pieta" is a reaccuring image of the Virgin Mary in Catholicism in which Mary usually holds the dead body of her son Jesus after his death on the cross.
