Yes, price cut was the key. Otherwise remember, ionic 5 is NOT a SUV, more of a crossover. Hence its pricing was NOT correct worldwide. Hyundai will do much better with a price cut worldwide
Your video was excellently made. One thing that I haven't heard anyone mention which I'm so glad of is they got rid of the white plastic surrounds on the infotainment screens. They just looked strange. I like that they went with dark.
The beige interior is GORGEOUS! If I didn't live in an old apt, I'd love to have an EV. But charging will be a hassle for me, so not this time, but hopefully one day!
@khunjeau8393 it's inconvenient for a lot of people who can't charge at home. I have an Ev and don't have a home charger, so I know it's not always ideal to use public chargers.
Looking good, really glad Hyundai listened our feedback by putting back dedicated seat heating & ventilation controls! Other than that, this is a more comprehensive facelift than I was expecting. Bummed to see the glove shelf instead of a drawer though. Greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩😊
Shout out from New Jersey!❤ I love your channel. South Korea is showing the world how to do electric cars the right way! Style, form and function…. It’s nice to see what is coming to our shores eventually. Thanks as always for the great reviews. 😎👍
In my opinion, the best update in the vehicle has been the improvement in the cooling system. While previous models used blue (low-conductivity) antifreeze for the battery and red (standard) antifreeze, in the facelift version, only red is used. This reduces the complexity of the system and lowers maintenance costs by not using expensive antifreeze.
Yes, it bummed me out when I found out a $600 service for this at 30k miles was required, completely negating the cost savings of 4 oil changes averted for an ice car in that milage. The front bumper must be removed! The EV6 never did have this requirement. Why!.
North America never got the drawer. Heated cooled buttons with the others are welcome. KIA has heated and cooled second row so the IIONIQ 5 Limited needs to catch up with that and the passenger bolster buttons North America is missing out on. Glad to see white DRL’s but wish the amber turn signal in the rear made it to the states. No mention of startup sequence patterns with the front or rear lights which would be nice. Not sure if like the light brown interior. Would have rather the wiper was tucked up under the top aero wing. Would’ve rather ambient lighting been added to the center console than the steering wheel pixels. It’s easy enough to know when it’s charging. The wheels are uninspiring. The added range is MUCH appreciated. Maybe by the end of my lease they’ll be built here and will have more than these few tweaks.
Thanks for sharing! Great review 👍Given the environment, I couldn't turn on/off the car, I will cover those points I've missed on this video with my next video, test drive hopefully!
I was always partial to the white/light interior. So much so, that in fact I didn’t purchase the Ioniq 5 because I couldn’t find one with the lighter interior when I was looking. Now though? Dang! I’d be happy with EITHER.
Man I'm Hyped for this updated version! It's almost perfect now with all the new features, buttons and The N-line look! Awesome Job Hyundai!! 🤩 All it needs is Matrix LED head lights, Massage front seats and monochromatic sunroof would make this car 10/10! But do you know if the interior handles and nobs are aluminium now? that would improve quality feel a lot in this car to match the top class quality elsewhere!
I don't think it was aluminum. HMG has Genesis brand and they are yet to release the ultimate luxury EV SUV, so some of those ideas we might see on Genesis 😉

This is awesome. I'm about to buy, and i can't afford the 5N, so I'll make sure the order is for the 2025. This was an awesome examination of the car, the most involved of any I've seen, even the previous models where they had their own car. It really gave a feeling of owning the car. I haven't finished the video, but I'm wondering if the extra battery gives any better performance. Damn I wish i could afford the 5 N!!
Missed opportunity to hide the rear wiper under the spoiler :/ Why did they left the spoiler open ? Only more unnecessary work for the wiper / water getting on the rear window
@@CarSceneKorea because of the addition of the rear wiper they don’t need the airflow for the windshield anymore to „remove water“ etc. that’s why they added the wiper
Owned an Ioniq5 since 2021. I used to watch Asianpetrolheads videos until he stopped.. A few points.. I do not like the drop down glove box as the drawer system gives you more space and it can't fall on apassengers knee. And having driven "normal" cars with normal mirrors for the past 50 years I will not get used to looking at a dfigital display in a different spot for the mirror. I think the rear wiper is a good idea but you've always got the option of looking out the back with the rearview camera on the screen which seems to stay clean regardless how dirty the rear gets. The extension of the spoiler will also provide extra shading for the rear passengers.I like the extra buttons in the centre but did that make the movable centre console longer and taking away from all tha space from the front? Would have the sit in car before deciding to update to the new car. Great review
Thanks for sharing the great points being the actual I5 owner for years :) I am not a big fan of DSM either, but it seems quite inevitable since the conventional side mirror do take up a lot in terms of Cd and this is the most viable excuse I can give with automakers pumping out these DSMs, not to mention the techs to come and associated with them.
Is there actually any car scene in korea? As far as i understand cars in korea only come in like 3 colors White, Black, & Grey/Silver, and theres really limiited brands you can get there. Customizations are allegedly pretty limited for the cars you can get as well.
Did they add a simple LED inside the door handles ? (I own a black Ioniq 5 and when it's dark and they pop out... nobody finds the handles when you are parked in a dark environment... a simple LED would visually help a lot !)
I've driven the 2023 Model Y and Ioniq 5 and the ioniq 5 has blown me away with how "normal" it is to drive as a car without all the gimmicks. That was before seeing this refresh with all those amazing buttons. I live in the US and have a Honda CRV on lease with Honda which probably wont be up until 2027, but my first EV looks to definitely be an ioniq 5 if Honda doesnt make a similar EV by then.
I have a MY22.5 and there are many great improvements here that I'd love to have in my car! Not sure if we'll get the camera rear-view/side mirrors or the dashcam here in the UK, hoping that we do.
I love a lot of the upgrades but one of my biggest knock are the digital side and rear view mirror. As cool as it is to have cameras and screens there is always a chance of something going wrong and then you’ll be left without a view of around and behind your car.
Good vid as ever. Thanks. I have a UK launch Ioniq 5 - 2.5 years old. I'm starting a campaign #bringbackthedraw 😀 I also have an Honda e - I think the Hyundai implementation of digital mirrors is poor, compared to the Honda. I have my deposit down for the Ioniq N
Very nice development unfortunately in europe germany we miss future. Like the dashcam the charge indicator in the bumper. And sure some other features
Very nice updates! The beige interior looks beautiful. I hope Hyundai keeps the amber/yellow signal lights on the back for the USA market. Awesome video. 👍🏼
@@CarSceneKorea -- oh nooooo!!!! Those can be confusing, because using the same colour for breaking and turn signals get mixed up. The amber is undistinguishably for turning or "hazzard." I am hoping regylations change here in the US to make the amber rear indicators the standard, as it ised to be decades ago.
Do you think the CAM 2 will also be featured on the 2025 5N? I hear rumours that the 2025 5N would have Matrix LED lights too instead of the Matrix design lights. Would be a nice extra imho
All the performance related numbers stay nearly identical. Extra battery and extra weight, but the rest stays the same while the driving distance improved :) As mentioned in the video, there are quite some upgrades related to the drive, which I will soon find out!
Very excited that Hyundai may become the first to release a Tesla/NACS/J3400 native port vehicle in the US, allowing for seamless Supercharger use via the app without an adapter.
Im currently shopping for an I5 and this is very good news. Now I have to decide wait for this to be released and buy new or buy used gen 1 with larger discount.
I like the tan interior. Looking most forward for the N line video though, that's the one for me. I just wish you could option a metallic dark blue exterior color then it would be a perfect package for me.
@@tomm5936 not if it’s caused by damaging accidentally, then your insurance pays. So, I asked the question again. How much does a new battery cost on the Ioniq 5? I know how much an engine costs. I asked!
@@josephj6521 I don’t know and I don’t know what an engine or any other car parts cost either. It’s an insurance case if not under warranty. That story in the news from Canada where a dealer quoted a crazy high number turned out to a mistake according to Hyundai. Obviously a battery doesn’t cost more than the car. EVs last a very long time, I have a friend who has a Tesla with 300k miles and the battery has never been replaced or worked on. There were some Bolts with bad batteries which GM replaced and some Nissan Leafs have batteries that go bad with low mileage because they have no cooling and get damaged when overheated, but other than that it’s not a common problem to have battery issues at all.
@@tomm5936 do you have a link to Hyundai’s claim that the 2 customers in Canada being quoted $60k for a battery replacement were incorrect? That’ll clear things up.
I5 was near perfect if not perfect when it first came out. This model is equipped with techs that wasn’t available back then, but still the first I5 is strong 💪
can you tell me iff al these interior updates are also for the Ioniq 5N? In the configurator here in the Netherlands i still see the old design and mirrors.
@@CarSceneKorea thank you for the reply! unfortunatly nothing about the new midconsole, the physical buttons, digital mirrors etc. Thats wat interested me the most.
Is the undercarriage protected and warranted by Hyundai on the cooling systems and the battery pack ??? Its a $50k US battery replacement cost question
Thanks for the video, I'm curious, is the AC charger still a 11kw charger or they did boost it to 22kw? Do you know the power of the USB-C ports (to know if it could charge a laptop)?
This IONIQ 5 actually gets IFS, Intelligent Front Headlight System. It was also on 2025 Tucson Facelift, you can check out the performance here: Night Test Driving 2025 Hyundai Tucson Facelift - Intelligent Front Light System (IFS) th-cam.com/video/0OxL3_mrSFg/w-d-xo.html No update or mention on the tow hook though.
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks for the quick reply but I'm not sure what you mean by that. In the US, wireless charging was not included in the SE. Neither was the front lighting. Only the limited trim had 20" tires with the cool sawtooth design; the other trims had 19" tires. So I'm questioning how many of the improvements will be on all trims. Certainly the two most important will: improved range and a rear wiper.
Does the side mirrors/camera positioning make it hard to see if there’s someone next to you compared to just looking into the mirror? Does the android auto or Apple CarPlay work without being wired ? When is this going to be available? Need it asap lol
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲 Wireless AA & CarPlay available, you will get used to DSM quick.
I wish i could upgrade our new new 2024 limited to the 2025 for a not insane amount of money, we needed a new one and couldn't wait and we love it but this fixes so many issues.
What's the difference between this facelift for the 'regular model', and the updates that the IONIQ 5 N already got? I saw it does have the two dial button row, but not the reordered climate part.
There was no information about the vehicle until I met the car in person, there are a few things and detail I missed out on this video, will soon come up with a follow-up vid focusing more on the upgrade and differences!
Do they have the white vanilla interior leather? That was the best looking one. Also, about the digital side mirrors...wouldn't cops stop you when they notice there is no mirrors outside? LOL. It looks a bit odd without the side mirrors outside since it became so normal to have them there. I do the mirrors inside. I like that extra camera in the back, but I think they should also have one in the front as well. Everything else look pretty much the same as Ioniq 5 2024 as far as functionality or features.
@@CarSceneKorea fantastic. How about Digital Key 2.0? Ionic 5n is the first model Hyundai Model here in Europe offering the at with UWB, so that I can leave my phone in my pocket.
@@azschalter The PE model does get Digital Key 2, but I speak for domestic models. Options vary depending on a market to another, but sure is equipped with this PE I5.
Thanks for the info. Would love to see Hyundai daring a red or yellowish exterior paint on the refresh. Too much silver and grey all around these days.

That was before seeing this refresh with all those amazing buttons. I live in the US and have a Honda CRV on lease with Honda which probably wont be up until 2027, but my first EV looks to definitely be an ioniq 5 if Honda doesnt make a similar EV by then.
I completely agree with you on the drive. My first impression was more or less the same as yours.
I have a MY22.5 and there are many great improvements here that I'd love to have in my car! Not sure if we'll get the camera rear-view/side mirrors or the dashcam here in the UK, hoping that we do.
12:40 Also, if Hyundai could add more custom settings vs default for the reversing camera /360 camera ( 1 press vs double press)
I love a lot of the upgrades but one of my biggest knock are the digital side and rear view mirror. As cool as it is to have cameras and screens there is always a chance of something going wrong and then you’ll be left without a view of around and behind your car.
Those two are sold as options, so you can always get the good old side and rear view mirrors.
There is lots to like about the refresh. Wondering if the dealers are still tacking on markups?
Good vid as ever. Thanks. I have a UK launch Ioniq 5 - 2.5 years old. I'm starting a campaign #bringbackthedraw 😀 I also have an Honda e - I think the Hyundai implementation of digital mirrors is poor, compared to the Honda. I have my deposit down for the Ioniq N
IONIQ 5 N? That thing's a beast! Congrats :)
Would love to see this model with the tan interior and HUD in India. I'd likely even buy one
Finally we get center console buttons!
Yay 🙌

Absolutely Magnificent Comment from such an Amazing Subscriber! 😉
Very nice development unfortunately in europe germany we miss future. Like the dashcam the charge indicator in the bumper. And sure some other features
yeah. we don’t even get digital key just stupid.
not sure why Europe always loses out on so many features.
@@Dreadpirateflappy Sure do hope to see all these fancy techs around the world too!
Very nice updates!
The beige interior looks beautiful.
I hope Hyundai keeps the amber/yellow signal lights on the back for the USA market.
Awesome video. 👍🏼
A lot of people here in Korea want those red turn signals 👀
@@CarSceneKorea -- oh nooooo!!!! Those can be confusing, because using the same colour for breaking and turn signals get mixed up.
The amber is undistinguishably for turning or "hazzard."
I am hoping regylations change here in the US to make the amber rear indicators the standard, as it ised to be decades ago.
Do you think the CAM 2 will also be featured on the 2025 5N? I hear rumours that the 2025 5N would have Matrix LED lights too instead of the Matrix design lights. Would be a nice extra imho
Not sure if I5N would get a facelift, but sure does sound like an upgrade if it ever comes.
I'm only jealous of the lights in the steering wheel, they're pretty awesome
Just for the rear wiper i can finally see myself buy this car now!
Cant believe it took them YEARS 😂
Literally 🙄
Nice work! I wonder if the larger battery capacity without any added weight brings about performance improvements
All the performance related numbers stay nearly identical. Extra battery and extra weight, but the rest stays the same while the driving distance improved :) As mentioned in the video, there are quite some upgrades related to the drive, which I will soon find out!
What about Apple CarPlay? Is it next gen? How does it look and operate with the car? Most important question for any new car!
The facelift model offers wireless Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.
Would be great to know if the 2022-2024 Ioniq 5 and 6 will get the same upgrade to the infotainment system
Not sure what you are referring to with the upgrades, but the earlier models did not get the ccNC, hence upgrades you see on this car is unavailable.
Wow you make amazing video 🔥
Thank you so much 😀
I thought i was set on getting a Kia EV6 after comparing it with the ioniq 5. But with this update idk! I'm liking the new updates,.
May not seem much at a glance, but read through the comments on the video, the current IONIQ 5 owners will tell you otherwise :)
Curious.....Is there a reason not to have the passenger side monitor closer to the driver. I think it makes more sense.
You have a point, the IONIQ 5 was the first car to get a digital side mirror, there sure will be improvements with future models to come.
Very excited that Hyundai may become the first to release a Tesla/NACS/J3400 native port vehicle in the US, allowing for seamless Supercharger use via the app without an adapter.
Looks great. As a gv60 owner, i might have to look at this when i change in a couple of years.
Both E-GMP brothers, but quite different car indeed.
Im currently shopping for an I5 and this is very good news. Now I have to decide wait for this to be released and buy new or buy used gen 1 with larger discount.
Both great choice. Close friend of my actually just got the I5 knowing there'd be this facelift soon.
Does anybody know when we will be able to order the facelift version in Europe ? Thank you 😊
Will the Ioniq 5N also come with some of the facelift features?
If it does, a lot of things shown here would be applied.
Finally black bezel for the screens…!
Awesome, do we have an idea when it will be available?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
I like the tan interior. Looking most forward for the N line video though, that's the one for me. I just wish you could option a metallic dark blue exterior color then it would be a perfect package for me.
Working on it :)
Nice ev 👍 as usual your videos rock.
Thanks! 👍
$60k for battery replacement is a big warning sign to avoid Hyundai electric vehicles
Try to inform yourself
Should be under warranty. At least at less than 100k miles.
Yeeeaaahhh....
And the Devel 16 is the fastest car ever made...
Cost to replace the battery if the undercarriage is damaged?
Priceless 😂
Covered under warranty. If you buy a gas car do you ask what a new engine costs before you buy the car?
Yup. But I deem most of the changes new bells-and-whistles. To be honest, I prefer the center console in my 2024 model… but maybe that's just me.
I5 was near perfect if not perfect when it first came out. This model is equipped with techs that wasn’t available back then, but still the first I5 is strong 💪
They messed up with the new cupholder arrangement.
Very interesting, thank you! Would you by any chance also have new informations in regards to a 2025 Tucson N PHEV Facelift? Greetz from Denmark :)
Korea never got PHEVs, so I have no info on that 🥲
What are the names of the colours for the first and second car?
Looking at buying one but unsure on which these are
The first color is Atlas White Pearl.
15:12 Manual Peasant blocker / screens
1:26 longer wheelbase? True or false ?
The wheelbase is the same 3,000mm long. That clip is just showing that E-GMP is capable of extending the wheelbase when necessary.
I want this car!! So beautiful
can you tell me iff al these interior updates are also for the Ioniq 5N?
In the configurator here in the Netherlands i still see the old design and mirrors.
Maybe this post has what you're looking for?

@@CarSceneKorea thank you for the reply! unfortunatly nothing about the new midconsole, the physical buttons, digital mirrors etc. Thats wat interested me the most.
I like manual folkding rear seats tbh more than automatic ones, they're so much faster and you dont need to wait for them to drop or rise.
Is the undercarriage protected and warranted by Hyundai on the cooling systems and the battery pack ??? Its a $50k US battery replacement cost question
You'd need to check that with your local distributor.
The first thing I noticed was that the wheels were kinda off and rearview mirror looks kinda cool.
Agreed! 💯
Thanks for the video, I'm curious, is the AC charger still a 11kw charger or they did boost it to 22kw? Do you know the power of the USB-C ports (to know if it could charge a laptop)?
I did power my M1 MacBook Pro with Hyundai Inster. I'm pretty sure IONIQ 5 won't have any problem doing the same.
Damn they did so well. Can’t wait to get mine later this year. Well done Hyundai 👏
Glad you like it! 👍
Starting to look interesting... Still lacking adaptive head lights. Or? Tow hook still the very manual one?
This IONIQ 5 actually gets IFS, Intelligent Front Headlight System. It was also on 2025 Tucson Facelift, you can check out the performance here:
Night Test Driving 2025 Hyundai Tucson Facelift - Intelligent Front Light System (IFS)
th-cam.com/video/0OxL3_mrSFg/w-d-xo.html
No update or mention on the tow hook though.
I wonder how many of the enhancements will only be for the most expensive trim.
The price remains the same.
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Wireless AA & CarPlay available, you will get used to DSM quick.
@@CarSceneKorea thank you
I wish i could upgrade our new new 2024 limited to the 2025 for a not insane amount of money, we needed a new one and couldn't wait and we love it but this fixes so many issues.
Seems to be the general consensus on this PE model!
@@CarSceneKorea I really do want it though because those upgrades would make a huge quality of life difference to us personally
Are the rear seat vents returning to the USA models?
Not sure, that'd depend on Hyundai USA.
Surely does fit the name Product Enhancement well on this model :) There is whitish interior, hope I can show you those in future videos.
Will Usa have the same changes?
Sure do hope so, the major part - PE, design - will remain the same. It always has been the miscellaneous things that were dropped.
Does it come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 UWB? Would love to get Apple Carkey with my next car.
Yep, every car with ccNC now gets wireless AA & CarPlay.
Truly great update that addresses many weaknesses.
Any new body paint colours though?
There is newer interior color as shown in the video, but those details are still yet to be announced. Will make a follow up vid asap!
Thanks for the info. Would love to see Hyundai daring a red or yellowish exterior paint on the refresh. Too much silver and grey all around these days.
Think it has to do with the car being EV and also that Living room theme, hence all dull colors we had with the first one.
Will wait for what you can discover before considering placing an order. 😉
Anyhow, thanks for your dedication and interaction with the audience.
I always try my best to get back to viewers, especially comments. I'm here because of you guys :)
Great videos, thanks. Cant wait for the test on the Road. What is the weight of the vehicle ?
No official info on it yet, but should be similar to the first one.
Great video. This makes me very curious for the EV6 refresh.
Tell me about it! EV6 got a major facelift on the front it seems.
Yup, 'm still on the waitlist for the EV6, so I'm hoping the facelift will look good in case I get put for the 2025. @@CarSceneKorea
Is V2G implemented in the new model year? Even though most of the EU is not ready yet, I'm looking to buy a car that can last me 10+ years
Not yet.
