  • In today's episode I do a quick engine oil change on my Phoenix Yellow Honda Integra DC2 Type R aka Acura Integra DC2R in the USA. If you would like to support my channel or send me something cool for me to talk about or use in my workshop. My postal address is below Cheers! :)

    I know sometimes my videos are very basic but hopefully they will help some people. I also like to document what I do to the car with video while trying to be creative. Most of the time I do everything here myself which is a big job and its hard to remember everything, But I shoot most of this stuff with my old iPhone and sometimes my old GoPro. The "Pieces to Camera" I film with my Canon 5D so I don't even use a proper video camera at all. Although I would love to get a SONY FX3 some day and a Gimbal too which will open up a lot of creative shots in future videos.

      Cheers Mick. I've been thinking about doing a video like that, or at least a tool box tour. I wanted an organised garage so over the years I've picked up a few 2nd hand tool boxes at decent prices. Even last week I got a Snap-on Race Box top chest, still brand new in its original cardboard box, 2nd hand on eBay. Soon everything will have its own space and it also makes a neat background for my videos. I've been hunting Ralliart and Honda signs for my walls too but I keep missing out on them.

    I use a sucker doodah on my R and found it good, _however_ I also found it needs to go further in than you think or it feels it can go in. It can take a bit of wiggling to get it to suddenly go all the way in. My sump is baffled. And I did the same as you have with your Mitsubishis and compared sucker to me, another sucker, cursing underneath at the sump plug. In the rain. 😁 Same result. I can get t my filter from the top too, but I have arms like pipecleaners so... Plus I see you have an aftermarket oil cooler thingie which would make your filter more of a pain.
    I dunno if you can get it in your neck of the woods, but the oil I swear by is Millars nanodrive motorsport(5/40). The engine loves it. The first time I used it the engine was noticeably smoother and quieter. At my next mandatory national car test the carbon particulates readings went down. The testor noticed this.
    Love the Mugen intake. Niiiice.

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know, thanks for the tips mate. In hindsight I probably could have attached a straight metal pipe onto my evacuator pump and guided it all the way down . I bet it was the curvy plastic pipe getting stuck half way down. I'll make something for next time. I did a search for the Millers oil in Australia but couldn't find it online anymore here as their Australian distributor has closed down. Yeah the Mugen intake is pretty cool, but I would swap it for a Mugen rear wing (plus cash if anyone reads this who has one) This car used to have a genuine Mugen rear wing before I bought it from my good friend David. Damn you Dave! haha

    Beautiful car! I own a GSR and I want to do a 5 lug conversion so I can run the same wheel setup. What is the exact wheel and tire set up that you are running? Are they Volk ce28n? And what size and offset are they?

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate. Yes CE28N OG Bronze 16x8 +22. But I have changed them to silver CE28 now for wheels that fit better and I made a detailed videos about them and it’s titled “Tyre Fitment
      Perfection YOKOHAMA AD08...” The new video shares all their specs and the body work and tyres and camber needed to fit them.

    You forgot to prefill the oil-filter so you don't have oil pressure in like around 5sec.

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I normally pour a bit of oil in the filters but as it screws onto the engine in a horizontal orientation it would be very messy filling it more than 1/3 full. I have read some discussions on this about if it’s better or not really necessary. What do you do?

    • @honda4185
      @honda4185 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@UzumakiGarage I understand that it's harder with that way of oil filter placement. Better to fill with something rather than nothing. Otherwise u don't have oil pressure until like 4/5sec and it's been proven.

      @@UzumakiGarage What oil did you use? 10w-30? 5w-30? And what brand.?

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@honda4185 For this video I used Penrite HPR5 5-40 engine oil but nowadays I use the genuine Honda Engine Oil "Feo Ultra" 10W-30 API SP/GF-6 on my Hondas. When doing turbo replacement on my evos I disconnect the crank angle sensor (which stops spark and fuel delivery) and crank over the engine several times without starting it to get oil pumping all through the motor, head and turbo before actually starting the engine. That's probably a good idea for simple oil changes too.

    So where is the Champ white one?

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm doing some work on the white one ATM. Pulled the transmission out and sent it away for reconditioning a few days ago. I also need to rebuild its steering rack while the transmission is out. Hmmm might look at the clutch too... Better make another video.
