As a fellow UK Spec DC2 owner, I'd like to say excellent choice 👍🏽
Everything you've said about the car is spot on, very well summerised in this video.
Yours looks a great example, personally the plans of K swap and ITB's sound perfect, maybe a K24 frank with 300 (+) bhp.
That will keep the raw and sharp character alive with added power and torque, and will also suit track driving better.
Also I might be biased but I'd keep the UK front end, they're different and not many around anymore.

Thats the beauty with the older Hondas, You can have loads of fun without needing 600+hp and triple figure speeds, surely thats the goal, 1000hp cars can't really be enjoyed properly on the roads.
I thought you would get around that time 0-60 as my B20 EF Civic can manage a 5.3 second and pretty sure it has a 5.2 in it

Youd get 240/250hp out of the b18c n/a, 350 plus supercharged. Id honestly keep the B series, everyones gone K now and very soon youll struggle to find another B series. For an engine designed in the late 80s theyre still competetive 🚦

250-260whp in a light weight Honda is a shit load of power! Plenty fast enough for UK roads considering the amount of places you can actually drive hard without getting in trouble with the law I reckon.

Love it! To do it justice leave alone (i know you wont!) but please keep NA 10K+ Revs, ITB's, new fuel and ECU systems & tune, strip out and weight savings, top tyres and maybe new LSD, 6 speed box. Make all the good things about it even better! With front wheel drive not much point in any more power, get a S2000 one day for RWD project.

Definitely stay NA - so many other cars you could turbo but this one is best kept au natural. K24 with ITB's can make 285Nm and 300hp which is more than enough for this lightweight machine.

Come on Jamie, I've just bought myself a K20/K24 FN2 after not having an NA car for a while so I can relate to this video hardddd, I know the DC2 is a B-Series so slightly different characteristics but VTEC nonetheless ;)

You already have a forced induction k series. I would rather see a maxed out all motor N/A build and show what they can do. You can play and explore different fuels like ethanol and nitromethane mix 😉

Hmm, if my B series knowledge from over a decade ago is still valid having the VTEC engage so early (3.5K RPM) may actually be a little detrimental to the overall drivability of the car. The reason is that the air coming past the throttle body and into the individual intake runners hasn’t built up enough velocity at the lower RPM to, in laymen terms, flow itself into the cylinder when the valve opens. I guess best analogy I can think of is that with a big cam you’re expecting a large volume of fast air to come flowing in and fill the chamber void, however if it hasn’t built up enough velocity on its own accord when the valve opens then rather than the air having velocity of its own forcing itself in, it ends up being sucked in and therefore less air and less fuel = less bang. However if it was on the “eco” cam the valve doesn’t open quite as much and therefore when air and fuel is squeezed through a narrower gap it builds velocity and will rush into the chamber and end up getting a slightly bigger bang. Don’t think I’ve explained this all that great but if you think of air and fuel molecules like people in a stadium leaving an event via those narrow tunnels then it helps with understanding some of the dynamics at play. Again apologies if I’ve made a hash of explaining but basically raising the VTEC cross over point a bit higher in the rev range, closer to the stock 5.5K will make for more total area under the dyno graph which improves overall drivability in the mid range where you’d normally spend the most time in.

As a dc2R owner & driver I thought I'd share this with people to see if its just mine or can other owners do this with their Integra Type R? Btw mine is stock - no mods - MY'01.
One day i was on TH-cam watching a dc2r review from I think it was - 'Chicago Cars Direct' when the guy mentioned that some manual Hondas have a "friction point" as well as a "take-off point" in their clutch travel. So one day as i pulled away from a green light i did the following,
    1) pushed clutch all the way down,
    2) pulled 1st into 2nd gear, at about 4000rpm (no need to hit vtec or redline),
    3) let the clutch out about 1/4 of the way,
    4) tapped the throttle all the way down (very quickly) before releasing,
    5) then let the clutch up to about 1/2 way,
    6) pushed the throttle pedal all the way down this time and kept it down.
I got an unbelievable rush of power that pushed me so hard into my recaro seats, it felt like I was going to break them. It was just an AMAZING rush of power i would say 10X more powerful than what u get from the Vtec cross-over in this car. In fact compared to Vtec, it makes Vtec seem like nothing at all!
I dont know if the engineers intended it to do this but i DO know it works & its UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Sadly, I've only managed to do it a handful of times (it's hard to do just right, & nowadays I rarely drive my vehicle any more - obviously!) But I've never forgotten what this mad rush of power feels like. Can someone tell me whether it is ok to do this or am I damaging the car?
Try this with your dc2R, & then tell me if u experience the same? If so, it's time to let the secret out guys & let its value appreciate even more because this rush of power is unbelievable!

Please keep the B series and tune it please, they really come alive. I personally think they can put the power down as well as a k series. The sound and the raw unrefined goodness of the b series is second to none.

Jamie you should have the best of both worlds and keep it B series as long as you can. The beauty of your situation is you have some many options/avenues to go. Maybe keep both engine types on hand for the hell of it so you can have the car set up for any type of duty you want. 😆

Welcome to the Honda family. I swear all their cars gear grind and lock out more than their competitors. It’s very common. In a new car I’d blame the fluid not being warm or a weaker blend, but on an old car I might wonder if there’s damage done. In all seems like you’ve got a wonderful car and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it cheesing ear to ear the whole time.

Wow my boooooyiiiii that's what Honda does buddy normally V-TEC kicks at 5000-5500RPM but with a tune V-TEC AT 4500RPM and let it run till maxed tuned RPM .
MY 1600 V-TEC with SKUNK stage two cams, lightend flywheel , dictator management. And free-flow gets close to 195 HP .
AND IT SCREEMS AND POPS LIKE POPCORN MACHINE CROSSED WITH A WAR SIREN
